WOW!! While at the Coach Museum in Belem, a nice worker told us about O Prado for lunch. So lucky! Steps away from the museum, this is where the locals eat. Such a great place. They have lunch specials. We had a sardine lunch and a cod lunch. Both grilled. Both come with potato and salad. You get bread on the table. AND sheep cheese! Delicious, fresh food.

Great service and food. The ambience gives in for a great outside/inside dining experience with great Portuguese food.

O prado is right! This place is hands down a must try if you're in the Belém area. It's close to the touristy stuff ( 5 minute walk from Pasteis Belem) but it's not by any means a tourist trap! You can feel right at home the moment you walk in. Lots of locals that clearly are regulars as the servers know them by name. We honestly were just trying to get something quick to hold us over. But the moment we sat down at the bar we scanned the place and everyone had such amazing dishes on their tables! We ended up pointing at a bunch of tables and asking for whatever they had. The chorizo asado is a must have! It's super crunchy and the flavors are just unreal. We also ordered a rice and seafood stew type of dish. It had crab, mussels, shrimp, SO GOOD! My dad is a big Bacalau fan, so we ordered one as well thinking it would be small but it was massive! Honestly way too much food but we enjoyed it so much! The service was great. Very friendly atmosphere and the place was packed! We lucked out and got there before the line was out the door. By the time we left there were easily 20 people outside patiently waiting to be seated. This is a must try!

Great location! Very near from the Monastry, make it a perfect escape from the touristy side of Belem without suffering your calf from a long walk. Pack with locals and tourists, this family run restaurant definitely a charm. As a fan of seafood, I personally feels very satisfied with the freshness of the prawn, fishes and crab.

Top notch local food. I might be biased BC I just love fish too much but the fried small mackerel dish is just too amazingly delicious. It's the simple, no BS freshness that you can't replicate unless you're in a coastal city. Wash it down with some good and well priced beer and then you're all fueled up and ready to explore Balem.

Loved it here. Maybe it's just because of tourist-exhaustion and a desperate need of a decent restaurant that I praised this place that much but actually I can't find a single flaw. First of all, locals all around. You see people coming and going, all very chatty, knowing each other, but you, a tourist from outside are not a disturbant - on the contrary- the waiter gives his best to explain everything to you but he's not insolent. Then, the food - typical and tasty - that's all I can say. And to add one more thing - great, homemade vinho verde for 7,50 per bottle - having drunk one, we took 3 with us ;)

The food and the service were amazing, and the price is reasonable. My wife and I had dinner. I recommend it.

The manager of the restaurant received me and was extra nice, he spoke to me in English and Spanish, so if you speak any of those 2 you are good. He recommended me some items on the menu here is what I chose: starter-favadas d' unha... (really big beans) one word to describe them DELICOUS... so that was a great start. For the main entree I got the Atum grelhado, which is a tuna filet (big portion) grilled and they put a home made butter on top that is out of this world.. this has been one of the best filets I have ever had. As soon as you arrive you get a platter with cheese, olives and the unbelievable home made butter, also a piece of freshly baked hot bread. He offered me some wines and ask me what region I wanted, I chose Duero.. wine was great too... The manager/server explained to me that it was a Restaurant from Açores which are a group of islands in the middle of the Atlantic that are part of Portugal, he even brought a book to show me Açores (he is from there). I also found out that his wife is the one in the kitchen! I told him tell her everything is delicious and he replied "I taught her good"... Overall a great experience and amazing food... do not hesitate coming here

I wouldn't say it was an inexpensive meal. There is also a suggested tip that was added to the bill. We were given bread. It's not complimentary, and you can decline it. We started off with the razor clams, which had a flavorful broth consisting of garlic, olive oil, white wine, and fresh cilantro. The aged beef tartare was my favorite. The waitress went over the components, which included a torched egg yolk, before mixing it for us. Duck rice is an authentic Portuguese dish made with shredded duck meat and chouriço, cooked in a rich broth. The one here also contained orange zest, which was refreshing. The dish as a whole was salty though. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

I was quite intrigued by their menu with lots of fantastic options from razor clams and duck rice and could only subsample a few. I found the end of the meal quite frustrating as the staff charged my card using the wrong currency and then proceeded to mansplain to me, when it was clear to me that the charge was incorrect. While I appreciated that they did take the time to resolve it to avoid forcing a credit card chargeback, this situation was definitely not pleasant. (Bluefin Tuna: C) - I felt like this was three separate components that don't go well together, but work individually for the most part. The torch roasted baby gem lettuce and citrus is a delightful side salad to have. The reduction of peppers and garlic and onion is a good flavor booster. However, searing the bluefin tuna ahi style didn't add anything as the sear didn't add smokiness nor crispiness. Further, I didn't think the tuna fit well with either palette despite the individual components being good. (O Frade Salad: B) - Beautifully vibrant salad with lots of intricate complexity going on. I like all the different components of the salad, from pumpkin to pickled onion to pickled cucumber to mustard seeds. The combination offers a refreshing and large accompaniment to the meal. The entrees were on the pricier side, which is something we didn't realize until the end of the trip - when we've had better food, better experience for a more feasible price. The entrees were smaller and less flavorful than we expected. Our bill was also a big one cause of drinks. We ordered: Crispy polenta and cheese balls Razor clams and new potatoes salad with greek yogurt, roasted peppers and cucumbers Game corn dogs with wild-berries fresh sauce and mustard leaves Entrees: we ordered duck, codfish, octopus and a steak dish where no one really enjoyed it... sidenote: I know Codfish is a very popular dish in Portugal - if you don't like that fishy/seawater/fresh-out-of-the-sea taste, you might not like it in Lisbon My friends didn't like the fish and the duck. Gin Fizz was good, as well as the Rosé (we probably ordered like 8 Gin Fizzes - they were that good) -takes CC, Wifi, great view What I recommend - go there for a drink and apps. An experience that I was hoping to capture was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the rooftop was closed to the public. Still an order of cocktails were placed with the attentive server. Shortly thereafter, the tequila based cocktail and a chocolate cocktail were brought to the table. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend. However, if you could enjoy the views from the rooftop while sipping away a cocktail or two, it will be worth it. Finding this place was also a little tricky. I had to ask the locals to help locate this place. If you're having trouble getting here, be sure to ask the locals.
