I hired Bellus to install vinyl flooring over my tile about a year ago. I love the Kardean product I bought from them. It's really easy to maintain, resists water and normal wear with proper upkeep. While I liked my salesperson, the rest of the experience bordered on surreal. The first and second days I had a crew of about 12 people working in my house for about 14 hours each day. The crew left the second day and reported they were done. However, they had damaged my flooring during the install in several places, improperly installed bowed molding in a few more, had inconsistent molding cuts in the doorways, among other installation issues. I've included just a few pictures to highlight their work. There were many instances of each example. I think I had them out 4 times to replace flooring the installers damaged and fix improperly installed molding. There are other smaller issues I won't go into detail about that revolve around excessive use of caulk and not cleaning up after themselves. The salesperson asked me to write lists of what I needed addressed, which I did, several more times over a week or so. One of the things that was a challenge for me was knowing what the new flooring should look like and dealing with installers who had mysogenistic attitudes towards a female when I'd correct their work, as the salesperson asked me to do. They even had the audacity to curse me in Spanish, thinking I wouldn't know the word they were using. I was dismayed to find such a lack of support from the company's representatives, and the lack of respect and workmanship of their installers. We eventually got the flooring done. I decided I preferred to have a few issues I had to fix myself rather than have their workers in my house again. I was also tired of having to clean up after their workers. Every time they came into my house I had to dust, vacume, and mop. It was comical watching them trying to vacume the carpets in an adjacent room with a vacume cleaner that was overfilled with dust from another job. The workers didn't bother to try and contain the mess, even when I provided plastic sheeting to them. I provided them a bill for the services I'd provided that they'd promised and not provided, and was compensated. I wouldn't say don't use this company, they offer very competitive rates. If you don't live in the building they're working on, they'd probably do fine. If you don't mind having to do reiterative quality checks, great. If you're planning on doing your own clean up, even better. If you're one of the people who's moved here from the NE, you'll enjoy the opportunity to get into heated arguments with the installers every day. read more

Bellus Flooring does NOT honor their warranty. I'm left with epoxy grout haze over entire floor. They mixed the grout in my house and slashed it all over my hutch taking the finish off. They chipped my existing tile in entry way. missing grout and caked on grout. This business is the worst I've ever dealt with by far. read more

Then I asked if they would be willing to install flooring we had ordered over the internet and the guy got kind of patronizing and asked why we would want that. Then he shared that they had hundreds of types of that flooring available... Bottom line, they only want to work with people who buy from them. read more

We had our floors redone earlier this year and spent a ton of time getting quotes and going through the process with several other companies. We had originally contracted Empire to do our floors and fired them halfway through the job. So after living with concrete floors for months we finally found Tonya at Bellus flooring. She went above and beyond to help us and even though we live in Elgin they were able to get the job done. She even saved the day when my husband changed him mind on the color last minute. While they were not the lowest priced option they weren't the move expensive either. They are definitely worth the price we paid. My husband and I made our way to Bellus flooring (thanks to Yelp) about a month ago after Lowe's quoted our kitchen floor at an astronomical price. John is a very nice guy that seems to love (and spend every second) doing his job. My husband and I took some samples of the laminate tiling home with us so that we could see which color would best fit our kitchen. We ended up liking it so much that we redid our kitchen AND our master bathroom. Within the week John quoted us a price for both rooms and dropped off our tiles so that they could climatize in our house a few days before they laid them. The workers were finished in a day and a half for both rooms and they did a FABULOUS job. I mean, seriously I could not be more happy with how our flooring turned out. They were also super friendly and got approval from us for any questions they had prior to moving on to the next step. My reasoning for the four stars (and I was really debating on giving 5 stars anyway) is only because of the situation at the end of our floors being finished. John didn't come back for a final walk through to see if we were satisfied with the outcome nor did we receive a phone call or email. The number of times my husband and I spoke with him while the tile was being chosen, delivered, and installed, it was a bit shocking not to hear from him once all was completed. This alone isn't the reason for the 4 stars... because the flooring took a half a day longer than expected, when the plumber showed up mid-day to reinstall the toilet in our master bath, he couldn't because the tile hadn't even started to be put down. He said that he would be back the following day (Halloween). My husband and I figured that we'd be the last ones of the day anyway since we weren't part of his schedule but the end of the day came and went and still no plumber. When I called John the following morning and left a message that the plumber still hadn't reinstalled our toilet, he called my husband back awhile later and said that "he thought that they were all finished." Well... had John done a final inspection on the 30th or called, he would have known the situation. The plumber did finally come later that morning BUT we still didn't receive a follow-up asking if all had turned out well and whether or not we were satisfied with the floors. So, John, if you're wondering; yes, we LOVE our floors but just wished you could have given us a quick call/text/email. We'll still recommend you to anyone looking for new floors :) read more

We had all of the flooring in our house replaced, our fireplace surround retiled, and a kitchen backsplash added by Bellus Flooring, and overall, we are extremely pleased with the results and the quality of the workmanship. It all looks absolutely beautiful! The only thing that I wish had gone differently was the communication as to when workers would be arriving. I know that some of our materials did not come in when expected, so we had a couple of delays, but my husband and I did end up sitting around the house one whole day and part of another because we had been told that the workmen would be arriving, but they didn't. The whole installation also took quite a bit longer than we had expected, but other than that, we experienced no problems or issues that were not immediately addressed. Our questions and concerns were answered promptly by Randy, who was our salesman and point of contact with Bellus. All of the workmen who came into our home were very professional and did a great job, but I would like to brag specifically on Cipriano, who installed our tile. Even the plumbers (from a separate company) who reinstalled the toilets commented on what a fine job he did with the tile. (Apparently, they run into uneven tile quite frequently when reinstalling the toilets after a bathroom floor tile job.) In addition to being very personable and likable, Cip really listened to what we wanted, and worked with me to make sure that the tile would be just what we wanted. My husband and I really appreciated how he gave thought to the aesthetics of the tile placement and the overall "big picture" of how all of the tile work in the house would look as a whole when installed instead of just slapping the tile on the wall/floor and getting the job over with. I can now see that there is definitely a craft and an art to tile installation, and Cip is really good at what he does. Bravo, Cip! We had really old carpet replaced in the upstairs of our house. We got 3 different quotes to do the install. Bellus Flooring got things done very quickly ... John came out to measure our house that same day and had a quote to us by the end of the next day. Bellus was easy to contact with any questions and we really liked that they didn't annoy us by calling us millions of times while getting other quotes (like other sales people do). Bellus was the one that we liked the best and their quote was right in line with others (including the big box stores) so we felt it was the best deal. The great yelp reviews also helped in that choice :) On installation day the crew was late but I was able to get a hold of them and they gave me a new time estimate. Randall was a great help. We shopped several other stores and no one else was as helpful as Randall. He was patient, answered all of our questions and never pushed us to make decisions. We actually found the carpet we wanted at another place, but they had no problem ordering it for us. The quoted price was almost 20% less than the other quotes we received and there was no hidden fees. Even after we ordered the carpet there was a problem with the manufacturer, and the owner John personally explained the situation and got it fixed. Just completed installation of roughly 850 sq ft of COREtec LVT from Bellus. After taking four other bids we decided on Bellus based on Yelp ratings and the fact their quote is an all included price, no cost surprises during installation. Researching new flooring is a daunting task and for us it was finding an honest, dependable service provider. Bellus surpassed all of our expectations by working with us on our budget, installation date and product questions. Like all flooring companies they contract the workers who actually do the installation. Bellus showed up on time with the install crew, set the days expectations and the crew went to work. The installation went exceptionally smooth, these guys worked like a well oiled machine and completed all the work that day. Started at 9 they finished at 6 moving all the furniture back into place. The floor is beautiful, no gaps, no telegraphing, not one plank is off. Installation of the moulding strips, which were delivered a few days earlier so I could paint them, is very professional. Not gaps, angle cuts meet perfect and the caulking, what litttle was needed is clean. We are so pleased we had Bellus quote the second half of our home and are not looking at any other company to do the job. I wanted to get rid of the downstairs carpet and ended up with a luxury vinyl that can stand up to our big dog, kids, wet feet by the pool, kitchen...etc. (Very happy with it--looks like wood!) I chose Bellus because the owner, John, made such a good impression on me. He took a lot of time with me, brought samples to my home and was very helpful in educating me on the pros/cons of different materials. I am really picky and I was impressed. Installation crew did a good job and cleaned up after. I even had another contractor there compliment the work they did. I feel like if anything would have went wrong or goes wrong in the future that the owner would take care of it. He was on time, professional and quick, yet personable and attending to all the concerns and questions I had and even brought up issues, I didn't even consider. My pets liked him, too, and I had the estimate first thing the next morning. The estimate itself was unbeatable! While we requested his service because we put our house on the market, we did not actually end up using him because we got an offer on our house the same day unexpectedly. However, I will refer John to the buyer and hope they'll use him. I am sure, if we had it done, we could have got a higher offer or quicker sale. I told John about the offer and he right away said "Don't get the carpet done, leave it to them." This is beyond any expectations! John is not only professional, but fair and honest!
