This company was chosen due to the good online reviews. HOWEVER in actual practice this company turned out to be a big mistake to be chosen and this is being written to caution others. To their credit their crew was "fast" Started at 7:00am and last man left at 2:45pm. This is the only good thing to say. The sales rep was named Zack, and despite the nice smiles and handshakes to get the contract the man never showed up the day of the roofing, before, during, or after the "completed" job. Even after he was texted explaining problems the crew was causing onsite he never bothered to come to the site to actually see or speak to me. Only commented about "how they will be sure to clean up the mess when they leave" Well that became another issue with this poor roofing company experience. The terrible cleanup job done and the nails that were left in the driveway, in the road in front of the driveway and the nails dropped in the road leading out of the neighborhood that myself and a neighbor found as we went and walked the road. Because once we found the nails in the road in front of the houses our concern grew for our neighbors and getting nails in their tires. It appears that concern was well warranted. Also when I walked through my neighbors property to look for trash, there were multiple roofing nails and staples lying in the open on her sidewalk left for her or her dog to step on as well as trash left on their property. They destroyed plants in the flower beds despite being asked to watch them and not throw discarded material into them. Even after being told multiple times to stop doing it after damaging others, they simply showed no regard for the customer's property. Zack was texted during this and as mentioned previously a total no show that day. There is some damage to the grass in the front as well due to them using the yard to lay out their materials and tools vs the concrete of the driveway. I have multiple photos that shows what I have spoken about. Now I have to resolve the damage done and have had to purchased a yard magnet so I can continue cleaning up my property as well as my neighbors from the nail/staple mess left. I would caution anyone in choosing this company if you care about your property or getting any real followup after the signed contract. In my case their "customer" service was less than reliable. Carefully look at another choice. read more

I hired Malachi for 3 projects totaling almost $50k, roof, siding, and paint on a two-story residence. I am very pleased with the results. It was a lengthy set of projects with siding being the longest and most involved. The work was prompt, the site was kept clean so that it was still livable while all the work took place. I could not ask for the finished project to look any better. As should be expected with any large project, issues arose during the projects. To me, the difference between a good company and a great company is how they address any issues mid and post project. Malachi Consulting is a great company. After 3 months with no kitchen, I fired them. A day after firing them, I had the appliances re-installed by myself and I had a plumber come out to re-connect my sink. At least the kitchen is functional now -- no thanks to Malachi. I've spoken with Zach multiple times regarding what went wrong with this project. For what it's worth, it seems like some changes may have been made to help rectify the problems. As for me, I will find somebody else to finish the kitchen. read more

This review is long overdo and so well deserved. I will post it on Yelp as well. Malachi Consulting is THAT good! Last spring we returned from vacation to see tree branches torn and roofing repair persons in and around the neighborhood. Roofing solicitors were continuously slipping cards and fliers on our doorstep (illegal in Georgetown). My husband happened to bump into Zachary with Malachi outside, and unlike the other contractors he was not pushy at all. He simply explained there'd been a hailstorm while we were away, and he offered to have a look at our roof. He took pictures and brought them down, including photos of a small area of decking that needed replacing, and he offered to replace it at no extra charge. The turn around time between taking photos and providing the bid was VERY quick, and he us gave tips on how to communicate with our insurance provider. Within just a few days, State Farm had an adjuster here, and Zachary met him at our home. The 2 of them went up on the roof together, and literally within 2 hours the SF adjuster was giving us a check to begin work. He and Zachary explained how things would proceed from there. It did take us awhile to get scheduled because there were so many damaged roofs at the time, but Zachary always kept us informed about what to expect from his schedule. He responded kindly and quickly whenever we called with questions. We told him we wanted to change the color of our roof because we'd recently done other improvements and had a different look in mind. We also said we wanted a more dimensional look for the roof but didn't have funds to make much of a contribution beyond what was covered by insurance. Zachary knew exactly what we were looking for, and within a week or so he brought tons of sample boards for us to chose from. He was INCREDIBLY patient with me as I slowly eliminated them one-by-one, and he explained the price ranges for each to build up the ridge lines in order to achieve the look we wanted. He provided a final, written detailed estimate that included a promise to pick up all debris, including nails and small metal bits on the ground by using magnets. He gave us "heads up" about what to expect in the way of noise and vibration during the job. We agreed I might want to remove crystal from the glass cabinet just in case. The crew finally arrived and finished so quickly- 2 days labor and a few hours a 3rd day for clean up. (I did continue to find pieces of felt(?) and tons of the small grains from shingles in and under the downspouts for weeks, but I imagine that's to be expected.) The crew's work was efficient and they were careful with the landscape and debris. Zachary then came back out to review the work, our adjuster did the same, and he was quickly paid. The SF adjuster commented on the great quality of the job, and that reassured us even more. Because Zachary was so professional, this was the most pain free insurance claim we've been through. Regardless whether it's an insurance claim or not, we would highly recommend working with Zachary/Malachi Consulting for any project you're contemplating. read more
