I originally called Cedar Park Handyman on September 26th, 2025. After sending them pictures and getting a quote I told them I was waiting for a couple more quotes and I would get back to them soon. On October 20th I called back and accepted their quote and asked them if they had insurance and if they could send me a copy of their insurance and they said no problem. It is now November 22nd, I have not heard back from them since. My guess is they didn't want to send me a copy of there insurance, which, as a homeowner, contracting a handyman is a serious problem. I've been hiring contractors at my actual business for decades and I've never seen such incompetence. My water heater tank platform was waterlogged, rotting away, and sinking. My mom used Cedar Park Handyman in the past and recommended I call for an estimate. When they got back to me with a quote, it was reasonable. Joel came yesterday and replaced the platform. It looks great, and he took his time. He was fantastic. I can't say enough good things about Ken and his team. I needed a kitchen update in a hurry. Ken was able to price out the job and get it done within my budget and schedule, and the results are fantastic. His team was fastidious about their work, showed up early and worked hard. Despite two (2) years of pulling for finish work and getting pushback, Ken finally agreed to come by and look over some of the issues that were left over from the 2012 job. He was friendly and admitted that some things could have been done better. And I admitted that some of the materials I provided were not the best, and so on and so forth. Ken gave me a date adnd time specific and now works with just two men that I saw; Carlos and Felipe(?). Carlos has always been nice and professional, but Felipe went above and beyond. He did not make assumptions about what I wanted; he made it a point to ask. The work was done quickly but very carefully. A lot of care was taken to protect my other stuff when there was a lot of sanding. I gave Carlos a dust guard for the dust from the sanding, Ken checked the work constantly and the difference from 2012 and 2013 to present was very noticeable. The corrective work took two days and Ken and his crew were very considerate, cleaned up behind them and this experience bears no resemblance to our previous relationship. I originally had an appointment with a company that offered a Groupon. They no showed, and didn't even bother to call. What a blessing in disguise. I researched other handyman services and luckily discovered Cedar Park Handyman. I needed my gutters cleaned and some vent covers put on the vents of my roof. Cedar Park Handyman, by far, did an outstanding job! The other companies I've used in the past, take a leaf blower to all the gutters and just blow out the debris that's loose. Cedar Park Handyman actually takes the hose up the ladder to the second story, and scrubs the gutters interiors, and then runs water through them. No more shingle grit that turns to mud and weights down the gutters. They also installed all of the vent covers on the roof....and all of this with a smile. Five stars for a handyman? Really!!!? I must not live in the area or be the owner's mother. Sorry, just a satisfied, legitimate customer. The estimator showed up on time (not sure why this is a problem, but it is). The workers showed up on time. The work was done in half the expected time. The work was awesome. The half-century mark in my life seemed to be a barrier. I used to do this stuff myself and it was too expensive to hire someone else to do "my" work. At age 50, I started getting less and less home repair work done. I had these three dual pane windows (out of 13) that just weren't getting installed. These people really know what they're done (remember, I installed the first ten). Cedar Park Handyman came out and installed my three last windows and trimmed out three of my windows I hadn't gotten around to. Based on this single experience, I highly recommend them. If you need anything beyond a loose screw I wouldn't trust him and I wouldn't pay him a dime until he's done. i had a tough job to repair a plumbing leak that required pulling off Hardie Plank Siding. All other plumbers wanted me to call a siding contractor to pull siding and then call them to fix the leak. One Cedar park Handyman was able to do the whole job from beginning to end. Mike C. Professional, Courteous, made sure the job was done right. So just over year year ago we contracted with Ken Peters to renovate our home. It was a fairly large project and I wander if he just didn't know what he was getting into. However, that's no excuse for the things he did or didn't do in some cases. Let me list them: 1. Ken was working on this project months after his completion date. Sometimes he'd send someone over for a half day once a week to appease me. Eventually this is a major reason why we had to fire him. We had to move in! 2. At the point Ken said he was done there was electrical not working, grout all over everything and baseboards and corners just sort of glopped together, copper taken without permission, tile slapped on with some spackle in the bathroom, gas not capped off before being walled in, poorly laid laminate and left gaps between laminate and baseboards and various other little things that showed lack of care and quality. 3. We gave Ken a LOT of extra time because we also over paid him and we wanted to get as much work done as possible! He fully admitted that he was having some personal problems and was having a hard time with his employees doing good work. At some point (after we had enough)he said he was doing all the work himself now, but unfortunately he didn't take responsibility for the poor work his employees did. He claimed he would at least pay us our over payment and I called several times about it. He kept saying he would and of course never did. 4. Fast forward to now and I have a whole new list of complaints due to the poor quality. Paint is peeling because no primer was used (nor was it textured evenly at all), outdoor pipes rusted because he used the wrong kind, stair toppers have popped off due to incorrect nails (nearly causing falls), hardy plank siding has popped off garage for same reason, cracks in ceiling that were repaired twice have come back (On that one we suggested a better fix and he ignored us). I also waited to post this review because I kept hoping he would at least pay us back. I can absolutely say Ken is not trust worthy in this business, nor does he stand behind his work. At some point in his once a week work that he did on our home I tried to get him to fix a few things that they did wrong like cap the gas (that he said was capped and was not) and fix a water leak behind the fridge that he didn't bother to check before saying it was fine. He not only did not fix them but said he was too busy to and wanted us to wait until he could. At this point I asked him straight up - Why are you taking new jobs while you have this over due project you seem to have no intention of completing? Maybe it's just me but I think you should finish a job and move on. My guess is he ran out of money, and took it out on us and didn't want to fix all the mistakes of his employees. Hopefully he learned a lesson, but I would ABSOLUTELY tell you not to hire this person because as nice and honest as he seems in the end he didn't do the right thing. I see a couple of scenarios on Yelp where he decided pay a customer back or fix the problems, but we didn't have that experience at all and gave him so many opportunities to make a better choice. My husband & I are so disappointed in our decision with choosing Ken to renovate our bathroom. We gutted the bathroom, all they had to do was put up sheetrock, rewire some new electrical outlets and install new stand up shower. We were doing painting, flooring, baseboards, installing of sinks & cabinetry. Eady job...right? First couple weeks was great then silence, no communication after several emails, then the company that he ordered our shower from (Onyx) had delay with delivery so had to wait another couple weeks for shower bit didn't order glass. One outlet shorted out and started smoking. We decided to sever contract & husband and I went with another company for the glass. Ken's team installed the shower plumbing reversed so hot was cold & vice versa. Spent a day fixing that then had to almost beg Ken to send his guy out to finish fixing electrical issue or we would have no choice but to keep all his tools he & his guys left behind. Sorry, did not have a good experience with this company-could not recommend to anyone. read more

If you decide to use Cedar park handy man just make sure you are getting the "A" crew to insure your experience will have a greater chance of meeting a positive outcome. Base on my experiences, I can not recommend them. In the end the owner Ken refunded my money and made it as right as it could be and I thank him for that. There are some contractors that would not have done that. However this is an honest review and I believe that consumers have the right to know of any possible issues they may encounter. We had a medium size job of framing out a wall and adding doors to other walls. They worked with us on price and I paid 1/3 down. 2 guys showed up on time the 1st day (Friday). One guy left to get supplies and the other did a little sheet rock demo and started to frame the new wall. Once the materials arrived they stopped working for the day. We got a around 1.5 - 2 hrs of work done the 1st day. They did not work on Sat and that following Monday no one showed up. We made several calls and emails but didn't get a response until 5-6 pm. We were told that the crew was fired and a new crew would be there around 11am the next day (Tuesday). I also discussed that the framing material they dropped off did not match the size of the material in my home. Ken the said that they would match what was in the home. 8am Rolls around and we have a knock on the door. It was one of the original crew members there to start working. I guess he wasn't fired. He starts roughing in some new electrical and I head off to work. At noon the other guys still had not shown up and the only progress was 2 roughed in electrical outlets. I talked to the 0ne guy that was there and he said that his partner was on his way. I came home again at 5:30pm to find my 2 load bearing walls of my home unsupported and the crew gone for the day and the next, since it was the 4th of July. I grabbed 2x4's and finished framing the walls so my home would be supported for the duration of the holiday. I took photos and video as I was in utter shock that anyone would leave an occupied home in this state. I called Ken Peters and emailed him the video of the issues. I never herd back from him. The crew never showed up again. A week later I sent an email requesting a refund minus the materials used. I found out that Ken was away on a family emergency and was unable to deal with any business issues. He said that he fired that crew and was going to downsize his work load and crews to insure that this issue would not happen again. Ken was very apologetic and sincere from what I could tell. It seams that he was having issue with this crew and was trying to address them but for us it was just a little too late. read more

Handyman of Austin fixed gates and did fence repairs at two different locations. The first time I wasn't present during the actual repair work, but the previously nonfunctional gate was rehung and now works fine. The second time I was there when the repair person managed to fix my falling-apart cedar fence in a fraction of the time that it would have taken me or my husband. Each time the charges were very reasonable. Also, it was pleasant to speak with Ken P. who arranged everything . I will definitely use Handyman of Austin again. read more

I'm really sad to write this. I've used this company twice with great results. Turns out I was using Ken Peter's only quality worker. My friend used another person from this company and did not have a good experience. I agreed to use a different person (also different from my friend) and the guy did not show up and did not call. I also had to email Ken three times in order to get someone scheduled with an actual time. I called Ken when the person was 40 mins late and Ken said he was unable to reach the person that was assigned to my job. I waited until 6:00 on a Friday night and Ken did not call with another update. I sincerely hope this person was not injured or in some way unable to perform his job. Some sort of notification would have been appreciated. Now, I have moved everything out of my closet and I have no one to help me build the closet. Truly disappointed in the unreliablility of this provider. read more

I used Handyman of Austin back in January. I had rotting wood on the back of my house that I had gotten tired of hearing "I'll get it fixed" by my husband. Ken came out right on time. The estimate was better than I had hoped from a pricing perspective and Ken told me that things might change as wood was removed. Due to rain we had to postpone the original day of repair, but they were out the on time the next day we had set. Turns out some additional wood was rotted on the porch ceiling and Ken and team were able to roll with it and get it fixed and find shingles that were a nice complement to my existing shingles. They also went with a last minute request of mine (and additional board replaced we had not discussed before). They got all the work done in 1 day and it looks great! I am no longer worried about the siding/trim/porch on the back of my house and Ken also discussed with me caulking I needed to keep up to prevent the rot from occurring again. I will definitely keep Ken in mind for any additional repairs/handyman services I might need in the future and will recommend him to anyone who needs a handyman. read more
