Jerry arrived just on time. He fixed the broken lock and rekeyed both locks. It only took him 20 minutes! The charges were very reasonable. $120 for a service call; $35 for rekeying each lock. Been a customer there for years because they were located conveniently. They've always been a bit…read morerude but I overlooked it. Today I was waiting for a parking space to shop next door and then swing by there to copy a key. Since I was shopping elsewhere I didn't want to park in their lot. While I was waiting for a car to pull out of the street door, my bumper was hanging a foot or so into their driveway. No cars were trying to get in. Nobody was being inconvenienced but one of their employees, who was backing out of a spot in their lot decided to get out of his car and tell me to move. He said "you can't park there" to which I replied that I wasn't parked, I was waiting for a guy that was going to pull out. He then tried to incorrectly define for me what "parked" meant and I told him I wasn't harming anyone and I'd be gone shortly. Then he pulled the classic passive-aggressive BS that "customer service" people go to when they know they are wrong: "Ok sir we'll try to have a nicer say...you seem to be really angry" The irony of course is that the guy saying this got out of his car to get mad at me for blocking 1/10th of his driveway. Last straw for these guys. Lots of other locksmiths around that aren't angry and aggressive.

There was nothing really wrong other than that the door started squeaking a little (even after I lubed the joints). Also, 4 years had passed since the last inspection and tune up. It literally took the technician less than 10 minutes. He asked me for $150. Because I could not believe what I was hearing, I asked him again. He insisted that $150 is the minimum they charge (up to an hour). As soon as the technician left, I called the office. They told me the the minimum charge for a service call is $100 (plus tax). So, I asked them why they think the technician told me $150, but they could not explain why. The technician must have pulled the number out of thin air! I'm certain that there are many customers out there who were overcharged because I wouldn't have thought anything of it if the technician spent close to an hour even if they charged me $150. Also, as you can see in my original review, a different technician, John, charged me a half of the hourly rate back then (4 years ago) because it only too him 30 minutes. Clearly, they don't do that any more. I have to say I'm disappointed because I believe in common sense. *About the rating. I gave 2 stars because the office corrected the mistake. It was so bad and driving me crazy. This job was too small for others I contacted or they couldn't get to it for weeks. I called Homesource and Mark set up an appointment in just a few days. So affordable too. Mark replaced the hinges which helped immensely. That was the first of a two-part great job. After he left the door jamb started making cracking (?) sounds when opened and closed. I contacted Mark again and he and Nick showed up and fixed the issue for good.
