The Universe has a perverse sense of humor and our problems started. I had a "vanity" key pattern I really liked. I found something close. Got it cut at Lowes. It worked in the new side door lock but not the front door. Then we discovered that one of the keys that came with the new lock also didn't work in the front door. I ordered a keyblank like the one I prefer. We tried a (different) locksmith in Everett. He cut the key, it didn't work, he declared the blank "junk" and said "throw it away. He cut me an aluminum key; half of the teeth were missing. We also had a lot of communication problems. We tried another Everett locksmith who claimed they had a blank like I wanted in stock. They didn't. I was frustrated. Today we tried Everett Lock and Safe. They: recut and filed the two almost-working keys to work in the front door AND cut me two working keys with the blanks I like. Extra points for no communication issues. If we need a locksmith or to have another key cut, this is where we will go! 10 stars!

From my initial appointment, to Tony calling in the morning to confirm the appointment, and then working around my schedule so I could coordinate being home as I had errands to run that day. He called me 1/2 hour before he was going to show up and the timing worked perfectly. He explained the differences between the different brands of high security deadbolts, and did a great job installing, and cleaning up before he left. I tried saving some money and doing it myself and going the Home Depot way. Tony fixed my problem, secured my door (and my neighbours too), and had such a cheery attitude I don't think I could even consider going some place else. When I got my bill, I thought it would cost more. In the end, adding all the costs of trips to Home Depot, and having failing equipment I just wish I had called them in the first place. They are also doing the work on my building as I am on the strata, and I couldn't be happier and more confident that our security problems will be a thing of the past.The advice he offered for the building really makes sense and I feel that I am in good hands. Counter person had the worst personality you can imagine and should be in the back and not waiting on customers. Tried to sell me a lock I did not want and told me my lock was old and no longer available. He clearly wanted me gone so he did not have any possible work to do. I went to another locksmith and they had several of the same locks in stock and told me they were still being made and were popular. They rekeyed my lock in 15 minutes and the price was more than $20 cheaper than the quote from Prices on the lock I did not want. Stay clear of these guys and shop around. There are plenty of locksmiths out there who are honest and cheaper. Prices is living on their past reputation which is no longer valid.
