Super talented. 2) her prices are fair and reasonable for how good she is 3) she'll always do her best to fit you in ASAP, even if you call last minute 4) she's impressively fast - I have a lot of hair and am used to waiting a long time getting my hair done, but not with Nancy! Whether it's cut or color, she gets my hair done, and done well in record time - and she can see 1 reference pic briefly and replicate it like it's no problem 5) She never pushes product sales or future appointment bookings on you, as has been my experience with hairdressers in the past; she has product for sale and will make a recommendation or suggestion if you need one but I never feel pressured to make an additional purchase or commit to a future booking; she knows her work speaks for itself and her customers will keep coming back. Like me! I found her in 2019 and have been going to her ever since. I was legitimately sad I found her after I had gotten married because the hair color she's been able to do for me is exactly what I wanted for my wedding but couldn't get at the salon I used to go to. Nancy is an amazing hair stylist. My husband usually gets his hair cut by her and I decided to try her out for going more blonde as my hair was growing out quite a bit. I've been to a lot of salon around the Seattle area and I think my hair has finally found it's home! Nancy is not only great at her work but she is absolutely the sweetest which is always appreciated. During my first appointment with her she was able to brighten my roots and even out the overall tone of my hair while keeping the damage to a minimum. I was quite impressed because my hair was already damaged from previous bleach session, but Nancy really worked her magic that day. Maybe about a week later I asked Nancy if I could adjust the tone of my hair since it wasn't totally to my liking, and completely understood and did not take any offense. She helped me book my 2nd appointment ASAP and nailed what I wanted. I've been to cheaper salons and premium salons, and I have to say Nancy is the best. Wow, I am extremely disappointed by Nancy.. I set up an appointment at 10:30AM - and she didn't show up. I was waiting outside her salon for 20 minutes in the rain - and I decided to leave. She calls me back 30 minutes later and leaves a long message on my phone - saying that "she knew she had an appointment with me but she had to take a friend to an appointment because she has no car" and now she was stuck in traffic from Tacoma.. she kept repeating, "how would I know there was traffic"... well the truth is - if you're an adult, you know that there is always AM work traffic coming into Seattle. And if you knew you were going to be late, you should have called me to save me my time. What's worse - she basically told me that it might be best if I don't schedule an appointment with her to "prevent both of us from being uncomfortable". Clearly she is the one who is uncomfortable. I don't appreciate excuses. She could have easily offered to see me another day, with a discount for the time I wasted today. I'm disappointed because it is nearly impossible for me to set aside time to get my hair done. Not only did I waste my morning, she made me feel like I am the one making HER feel uncomfortable. She listens to each of my requests and is very flexible to make sure I like my haircut at the end of the day. It is also great that she shampoos your hair for free after each haircut and allows me to see the city right after because of it's great location on Capitol hill. Nancy is the owner and only stylist, but I never have an issue getting a haircut at least a day in advance and she is always very flexible. Oh my god I am actually OBSESSED with this place. I came in to get an ash blonde balayage because I have tried to do that before but there wasnt much success with the first stylist I went to. A picture is worth a thousand words. After the appointment my hair looked good since it was freshly styled, but after I washed my hair and let it dry, it looked like a choppy mess. Probably the best color I've ever gotten - I have dark hair and she was able to get that ashy dirty blonde that most of the time turns out brassy, so soft afterwards too! So I wanted a long, a-line bob to add a little style while I'm growing out my hair and I even brought pics directly from this page to use as an example. I asked her not to cut any length off the front since I am growing it out. I walked out with 3 inches off the front and back, so no a line, and weird very short layers on one side of my head. I have been getting my hair cut by Nancy for the last 7 years! I have followed her from salon to salon. She does a fantastic job! I always come in looking like a shaggy dog! But I always leave looking like a professional! It is great that she has her own place! Location can be a little tricky to find for the first timer. It's the large building on 15th and Madison. Delayed review but a few weeks ago, I had some time to spare so I decided to get a long overdue hair cut. I always walk by Nancy's and saw great reviews, so I decided to call to see if she had any walk-in appointments available - I was in her seat in 10 minutes! Nancy was beyond welcoming and was so fun to talk to. You can tell she really loves her work and her clients. I requested just a dry trim as I was limited on time and she cut the price down to reflect that, which I really really appreciated (next time I'll be going for the full service hair cut which was already at a great price - $50). I asked for long layers and she did exactly that. She also gave me a great blow out and really took her time/effort, despite having a shorter appointment. I gave a call one day and Nancy put my down for an appointment right away! She squeezed me in even though she had a flight to catch later that day, she handled me with such integrity and kindness despite her schedule. She is very punctual and handles each appointment with such timeliness (she's a one-woman show here!) I came and was greeted immediately, and we got started right away with a hair wash-down.
