And while your sitting in her chair tell her to dust off your edges .... I love the seamless layers that she just did in my hair! Went here about a month ago for the first time. It was a very good experience! I got a massage, facial and haircut. The massage was deep tissue, and man she knew what she was doing! I don't think anyone has ever worked that deep on me before - the painful, you-know-it's-working deep. It was just what I needed! The facial was also hands-down the best I'd ever received anywhere! Smooth skin, tiny pores, it was like magic! I never have received a facial where the results lasted as long as this one did... so great. And then with my haircut, I explained what I wanted - a short bob, tapered in the back, able to be worn different ways with different parts - and it turned out perfect. She listened to what I wanted, asked me questions about how I like to style it and how much time I usually take, etc. - very thorough, very precise. She cut it wet, then was meticulous at getting every hair perfect after it was dried. Everyone was very friendly. I wish I could remember everyone's name! They recommended facial and hair products (which were admittedly quite expensive), but it was easy to turn down. The price wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either, especially considering how high quality the whole experience was. Loved it. Will definitely be back. read more

I can't say enough about Bella Salon! I definitely have high expectations as I don't live in Austin (I came into town for the ACL Music festival) and was in desperate need of getting my nails done. I figured I'd go ahead and do a little pampering for myself while I was at it and was able to get a blowout with Samantha too. She completely understood my hair and was mindful to use products that were sensitive to my skin and scalp while making my hair look gorgeous. She did a fantastic job and was able to even help coordinate mailing back some of the products she used on my hair that day. She was extremely knowledgeable about hair care and very sweet. In addition, Mie was so fantastic on my nails! She was so accommodating in ensuring I was relaxed and never once made me feel rushed. She was also extremely thorough in making sure my cuticles and nails looked really good before an ounce of polish touched my nails. I loved how she used different types of scrubs, oils and lotions to exfoliate and moisturize my skin. She also made sure to touch up a place on my nails where it was smudged on the gel Shelac. She is such a warm person and went out of her way to get to know me and to make my experience personable and memorable. If I lived here, Bella Salon would be my Salon. read more

I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Ginnie for several years now. She has helped me grow my hair long when no other stylist could! She recommends products to help your hair but isn't pushy. I trust her expertise and my hair looks infinitely better than it did a few years ago. The salon is large, clean and trendy. They stock a variety of high end products and provide spa services as well although I haven't tried any. If you are looking for a great cut and/or color definitely give Ginnie a try! read more

OK, so I'm a guy and I want a haircut with some pampering, but not too much fuss. This place gets it right. They take good care of you, but its not too over the top. Some salons seem like they are exclusively geared to women, but I felt pretty comfortable as a guy here. the receptionist staff is always exceptionally polite, accommodating and professional. The prices are reasonable, and I've used two different stylists here over the past couple of years. They always work around my schedule and even handle last minute requests. Parking has become a bit dicey with some new tenants in their building, but I'm overall a fan. read more

I moved to Austin this summer, leaving behind my dearly beloved Boston stylist. It was a daunting prospect, finding someone new to trust with my hair. Thank goodness I met Rose! The first time she cut my hair, she spent a long time getting to know my hair's texture and shape, and really understanding what I was looking for. The cut was awesome, and it grew out really well. I blow dry it when I have time but, for those many, many days I oversleep, I let it air dry just as happily. On my second visit, Rose paid the same attention to consulting before she even took the scissors out of her drawer and, again, I wound up with a really great cut. But what I appreciate most is that, every step of the way, she prioritizes what's best for my hair. She never tries to sell me an expensive product when there's a more budget-friendly alternative that will do a better job, and she even advised me against damaging my hair by adding unnecessary extra highlights to my natural look. Some friends recommended Bella Salon to me and I am so happy I took a chance on them. My hairdresser, Ellen, was very kind and did some insane magic to my hair. The girls at bella salon were absolutely amazing! I got an on-the-go mani/pedi and an eyebrow wax. First of all, the wax was PERFECT, quick, painless, and no bumps. The mani/pedi was awesome too! There was a little problem when I went to check out. I had a SpaWeek.com gift card, and spa week lists bella salon as a salon to use the gift card at. I assumed it was usable, but they told me they weren't affiliated with SpaWeek.com anymore. Instead of making me pay out of pocket, the manager comped EVERYTHING. Wow, I was absolutely in shock. Today was my first time at Bella Salon and it over exceeded my expectations. My stylist and stylist to see was Natalie. Natalie was very informative about the products in the salon and I was unsure about getting my hair color and haircut but Natalie made me very comfortable with my decision. I had an amazing experience at Bella Salon and I am super thankful to have found Trista! I had searched yelp for someone who knows how to do a silk press (wash, blow dry and flatiron) and I came across Trista's personal page and after reading the reviews I immediately called her and the salon to book an appointment. I got in the next day and I'm so happy with the results. Everything about my experience was awesome. The salon is beautiful, the front desk was very polite, professional and I was greeted with a big smile and hug from Trista like an old friend. It was so relieving to meet a stylist who is versatile, knowledgeable and a master at hair. I have extremely thick, curly hair (I'm half korean and half black) but I prefer to wear it bone straight and I knew that the only way to get the look I want and maintain the shine and luster is with a silk press. I usually do it myself but I have so much hair it's impossible to be consistent with the technique throughout the entire process because ya girl gets tired. Lol But Trista was awesome and my hair was not a challenge for her, she breezed through it like a pro! I have never seen it shine like this, I've never felt it this silky and smooth either and she used no chemicals to treat my hair just amazing flatiron technique. I've had keratin treatments, agave oil treatment, Brazilian blowouts and my hair has never had results like this. You would never believe that my hair is naturally curly! Front desk was super sweet and the natural lighting and upbeat atmosphere makes it super easy to relax once you get in there. I also loved that they have their own parking, which I was worried about before I got there because it's on 6th and parking isn't always great. Ginnie was so accommodating and fun to chat with, she gave me good, genuine advice about my hair and future care for it and took her time making sure it was just so. I went to Nano yesterday and had the most wonderful experience--from the wonderful scalp massage to the most amazing and expertly done haircut. I've never seen such great attention to detail when getting my haircut plus he made me feel well taken care of. I walked out of Bella feeling very good. You HAVE to go give Nano at Bella a try, you won't be disappointed. Also, I was impressed with the ambiance and with the fact that they took the time to invest the latest in hair care technology i.e. hair dryers, sink head rests. When I moved to Austin I was super cautious of where to get my hair cut and to try new hair colors. I found this place and it worked great! They are super nice and are really great about listening to want you want, but at the same time giving great advice. My hair stylist is Rachel and she is so sweet! She also definitely knows her stuff! It isn't until now that I am having to change stylists. It got to be a little pricey because the costs keep rising. And I live more up north than downtown. However, I still highly recommend it. read more

So I currently have a love/hate relationship with Bella Salon but I'm going to go ahead and start with the good. The Good: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hairdresser Charlene and the work she does on curly hair is phenomenal. She's a very talented hairdresser and I trust her with not only making the best decisions for me, but I also feel SUPER taken care of when I have received services from her. If I could give her a million star rating just to Charlene, I would. I LOVE the services I've received from both Jessica and Xylina regarding waxing. They both really do a great job at making certain you feel at home. Unlike most waxing experienced I've had which feel more sterile and uninviting. They also are super knowledgeable and share that knowledge in a way that someone who knows nothing about skincare (like myself) can understand. Incredible sweet humans 5+ stars to y'all, too. The Bad: They seem to have a really high turnover of front desk staff which leads to constant error in booking for me and my family. My mother and I do have the same exact first and last name (but I go by my middle name so i'm not sure why this mix up keeps happening). A few days ago was the second time in the past year that I've been going to Bella that they merged mine and my mothers profiles. We have different numbers, different emails, and different credit cards (which is news to me that they store in the system). You can do the math and see where this review is headed.... not only have they called me to confirm my moms appointments, but this time they ran MY card for my mother's services. I'm a business person myself, so I get that mistakes happen, but Bella...you are TOO expensive to mess up on this level so frequently. You are also TOO expensive to have such CRAP customer service. When I called to troubleshoot the situation, Mikayla - the person who made the initial mistake ended up just telling me that my mother and I have the same name and that "when she asked my mom if she wanted to run the card on file, my mom said yes." I'm sorry, but I'm aware my mother and I have the same name, it's been like that my entire life... I don't need to be reminded. The attitude from this person is subtle, but definitely present. Also, of course she would want you to run the card on file....HER FILE, HER CARD - not mine. Instead of an apology or professional explanation as to how it would be fixed, she just stayed quiet on the other end until I asked how it would be handled. She assured me some manager would take care of it and put the charge on my moms card. I luckily am close with someone who formerly worked front desk there and had to reach out to them personally to get the situation fixed because it had been several hours since I contacted the salon and the void had STILL not been initiated. First of all, why are you consistently merging our accounts when we are clearly different people by other context clues... Second of all, it was NOT a small charge, not for me at least. I have regular bills auto-deducting from my account this week and this red-lined me. Then when I asked if there was any way they could get that money in my account sooner, she said it would be 3-5 days. Not only was this a huge inconvenience for my own living expenses / budget, but still no solution has been proposed to fix it. I have received NO confirmation other than the person's word that it would be voided...and the money is STILL pending deduction from my account so my bank can do absolutely nothing to help me here. As stated before, I still have no confirmation from the salon, or management on any level that this situation has actually been remedied because I've received absolutely no follow up / confirmation and it's now TWO DAYS LATER. I know for a fact, when my mom was trying to confirm she wouldn't be double charged, that she asked for management to reach out and has NOT heard back. I am now disappointed in BOTH the front desk staff and the poor management that is tied to it. As a business person, I really do blame management overall for this pricey epic fail. I can only imagine the pain and suffering you cause internally for your employees with this level of disorganization...and I feel for them because of it. I hope no one else has to work this hard to babysit their future mistakes / remedy a situation that is not only costly, but way out of their control. read more

I have been getting my hair done here for 3 years. Ginnie is the best colorist, but you cannot go wrong with anyone there. Ginnie does all colors but I'm blonde and have never had my hair looking better. I moved away so I stopped going, but they follow COVID-19 protection and regulations very well. Makes you feel safe. So you leave there feeling sexy, confident, and safe. Doesn't get any better. Seriously love this salon. Ginnie will ask you questions to make sure you are getting what you want. She's so attentive and realistic with you. She also invests in herself and just keeps getting better. She has many certifications so you know you will always be getting her best. I had to leave a review for Dow. I've had my hair highlighted at a hair institute to save money and the results were what you would expect for a $50.00 multidimensional color. As a birthday present to myself, I decided to have my hair color fixed and done properly. I am so glad I found Bella on Yelp and was set up with Dow. Not only was he quick and efficient, he fixed a pretty bad blonde mess into a very natural summery blonde. Quite frankly, It's gorgeous. I also saw a review for him that did not reflect my experience. I am so weird about getting my hair trimmed and he listened and did exactly what I asked. You can hardly even tell I got it cut, (my instructions!) except there are no more scraggly ends! Perfection. I am used to going into high end salons until I started grad school and this is by far the best hair color I've had in years. She took her time to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted, explained the products and was gentle and thorough. The location is great and the interior is gorgeous! They have other services there as well, like nails and skin care which sets them apart and is super convenient. Products are modern as are the stylist's techniques. She knows what shape fits your face best and will get you to that natural Instagram eyebrow that you are looking for with just a little tint and wax! I am a self proclaimed hair snob and when I left my lovely hair stylist and friend in Dallas to move to Austin I was worried my hair would never look the same again. I moved to Austin in February 2012. I have been getting my hair colored red since 2005. There are very few reds that take well and don't fade out over time. Igora hair color makes my favorite reds and this salon carries this brand. The staff is really friendly. I have been going to Raquel for several months now and am very pleased with the service. She does great cut and color. She also does make up. I have not received this service from Raquel yet but I have seen pictures of her work and she is very talented. I have to make my appointment's several weeks in advance and would recommend this tip to anyone trying to get in. I do believe you get what you pay for and this salon is a little expensive but very worth it. The only reason I didn't give the salon 5 stars is because they do not offer free booze. Some salons in the area do and that's always a plus. Bella does however have an adorable little deli located in the salon that sells food and drinks. read more
