How could I have passed up this place so much when I'm near by it all the time?!
Maybe it was because the place it sandwiched between the dry cleaners (which I rarely go to) and a Pappa Murphy's (which is too much of a temptation to even drive by). However, I'm so glad the "competition" across the street showed me they didn't want my business, so I chanced it at Bella's and was not disappointed.
Bella's doesn't have eye appeal with it's store front--expect the 3 foot tall lettering that states "15% off services." Who wouldn't try the place out on a discount?? Soon as I entered, I could see that the place was packed--and this was the weekday around 3pm when I came. Quite surprising. However, I was greeted immediately and asked what I needed.
I was really desiring the pink and white overlay and asked about the pricing. $23 dollars, which was posted on the wall. Cool! I appreciate the prices posted AND they are the same ones you quote out your mouth! What I appreciated the most was giving me options for my nail care. I was asked if I just wanted the refill or to start over. Now, as much as I like saving money, I place priority on quality, so I went with the latter option of stating over which required some soaking and cutting down, but was well worth the time. Most just want to make a quick buck and get as many clients out the door. My guy actually inspected my nails, used the most non abrasive technique to remove the old color, and took his time to create the most perfectly shaped natural nails that ever graced these fingers! Yes, he did that great of a job!!!! Real nice guy too. Mind you, there were PLENTY of customers steady coming out of this place getting all kinds of services in parties of 2 or more sometimes. I had never seen such a diverse clientele in a nail shop either--couples, fathers and daughters, mothers and daughters, people of all ages coming into this place to get pampered! For the first time in my life, I saw every pedicure chair occupied! It was amazing to see--and still get quality service! As a result, you may have to play the waiting game, but I personally will wait if I know I will receive great service once it's my turn!
As far as the polish selection--plenty to choose from! I noticed a lot of Opi and China Glaze polishes. They have several palettes of shellac to choose from and over 200 designer nail tips too! I think they can hook you up with something you'll like with that selection.
Decided to get a lip wax too, which was $5. Best one I ever had without making me tear up.
What the place lacks in decor and space, it makes up in great customer service and quality nail care. Only thing that I question is why I didn't get the 15% off my services when I qualified for it? According to my calculations, I didn't receive it, but the prices for the services were pretty competitive and less expensive than most of the places in Houston that I've been to that I didn't question it. I was happy with the results of my visit to say the least, but it is false advertisement, so giving this place four stars. BUT YOU BELLA BELIEVE I'll be going back soon to find out about that discount, which BTW is off one service priced $15 or more.
