Some price tags were missing on some items, but that's not a huge deal. The lady working is always willing to provide endless samples and answer questions. We thought the orange olive oil, fig balsamic, and chocolate balsamic were particularly intriguing. And the olive oil made from olives grown in Georgia! There are currently two farms that produce olives. Each bottle is about $28, though other oils and vinegars cost less than that. Strippaggio has your gift-giving needs covered if you're shopping for a food fan. When I mentioned I was buying a present, the saleslady offered to put my purchase into a bag with tissue paper and include a gift tag. How thoughtful. From the time I entered Strippaggio's front door I have been in love with this place. Strippaggio is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their product offerings, which include extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, gourmet salts, and other related items. Despite the wonderful ambiance and the fantastic staff it was the quality of the olive oil that was going to be the difference between making Strippaggio my 'go to' olive oil store or a soon-to-be-forgotten memory. I am glad to say Strippaggio delivered. I am an olive oil taster and was pleased at the quality of the olive oil they sell. They have extra virgin olive oils for every palate and every dish. Shoppers can find mild, fruity oils; medium, tangy oils; and robust, spicy oils. They are all fresh, high-quality and delicious, unlike what you find at the grocery store. Strippaggio is not only my personal olive oil destination but I pop in there every few weeks for a work shop or gift purchases. It is truly a wonderful place.

When class started we were told there would be plenty of food, but we definitely left hungry & a tad disappointed in what was served. We made a lot of shrimp, yet each person got 3. Our table was curious where they all went. The melon on the salad was not ripe, making it unpleasant to eat. The main entree, eggplant parm, was completely inedible by everyone. Apparently, the eggplant had been salted before the students arrived and then salted again during class. So no one had any main entree. The finale was a scoop of ice cream. This made us feel as though we got very little value considering the cost for the class as we certainly could have enjoyed a meal at a sit down restaurant for less & left full. Don't get me wrong, there is value in expertise and instruction, but not $200 worth. However, at the end of the day, it was a good time and we would like to try another class in the future.

I was…read morebrowsing the candles and toiletries area, taking my time with smelling the scents and deliberating over my choice. The person working the register said hello when I came in and went back to looking at their computer screen. But once I was no longer in view, the person came to do a circle around the area where I was standing and said, "I'm doing inventory." GIRL, BYE. I'm an auditor by profession and I know what conducting an inventory looks like. Also, people just doing their job do their jobs without explanation required. There were some other things this person did and overall, it was an ugly experience. I haven't been profiled in a long time and it still feels gross and reminds me how awful people can be. I found something special for my friend, and I bought it. I also bought it for myself because after this experience I needed something soothing too. I won't let one person change my mind about a place I shopped at for years but if I see this person when I walk in, I'm turning around and leaving. HomeGrown has great gifts if you want something locally-made that feels special. And in all these years, this is the only time I've experienced anything like this so I'll likely be back.
