The shop is small and didn't really have anything to interest me however was nice to stroll around. We were really in and out in no time. I and a friend of mine visited The Collective after eating lunch at Krog Street Market. At her urging, I went in to the store with her. OMG! This store is packed with many quirky, cutesy, artsy, one-of-a-kind, collectible items! I'm thankful that we were the only customers in the store at the time, because we both slowly browsed the store through the narrow aisles snaking through the business. I'm pretty sure that if there were other customers around, we would have been both entertaining and annoying at the same time; entertaining because of our comments of many of the items and annoying because we were moving so slowly. The Collective is so packed with "things" that customers could miss seeing a lot by rushing through, and the store aisles are so narrow that it's difficult to pass if some is ahead of you. Most, if not all, items on display are from local artists/vendors, and this is a great place to shop while supporting local small businesses. Not very many succulent plants were in the back patio. The lone employee wore a face mask. Social distancing is difficult to maintain because of the tight spacing between the display shelves. Parking can be found in the free lot shared with Krog Street Market, but may be a challenge finding an available space during peak times. On-street parking may be available. My friend actually bought only one thing this time. She bought a brass monkey similar to the monkeys found in "Barrel of Monkey's" children's (old school) game, only bigger. I'm in love with this place! Wow, there is so many goodies in this shop for reasonable prices! This shop is located at the corner of the parking lot behind Krog Market. There is a lot of flowers on the porch of the shop, giving it a very welcoming vibe. We walked in and immediately smelled floral/citrus scents. There is dried citrus and pomegranates placed around the shop - giving it a pleasant aroma. Although space is tight here, there is a lot home decorations, clothing, jewelry and all kinds of merchandise to choose from - a great place to do gift shopping if you ever need to! My favorite part of the shop however, is at the back of the shop, where they sell of their succulents and air plants. I felt like a child in a toy store all over again. There is already potted succulents in tins and containers for as cheap as 10 dollars. If you want to make your own, you can pick out your own plants and choose your own containers. The succulents here are also reasonably priced - offering deals like 3 for $10 or 4 for $10. There is also a discount corner where you can find discontinued goods for super cheap (less than $5 and/or BOGO). Don't forget to check out the pack patio for more succulents! I had a great time picking out new plants to decorate my apartment with... You can easily splurged in this store, so be prepared... I can't wait to come back to this store! read more

I usually end up liking the idea of shopping antique/vintage more than the reality of it. So often, stores deal exclusively in antique furniture or vintage clothing - but The Collective is a perfect spot for finding delightful odds and ends for your home decor, kitchen, and lifestyle. They carry those unique items that add personality to a living space. Additionally, the gentleman (who I got the sense may be the owner) who was working was helpful and friendly, and the Ella Fitzgerald playing over the speakers gave the store an inviting feel. I truly felt welcome to browse and explore their collection without that dreaded, stale silence that so often permeates antique shops ushering me toward the door. Will absolutely be returning, and I've tucked it away in a list of places to explore with friends or dates on future outings. Their COVID-19 precautions also felt sincere and adhered-to, making the shopping experience stress-free. read more

I debated posting this or not, but think that if I were the business owner, I'd like to know these things. I went into the shop yesterday, Sunday, 11/22. The shop is absolutely wonderful: great candles, antiques, a truly unique place from which I was hoping to make a purchase to take back home with me. When I entered the store, a harried customer was trying to make a purchase but had to deal with their family calling on their cell. The customer kept it light-hearted, joking with the employee behind the counter about it. But the employee barked something at this person like, "You could try putting your phone down," or something to that end that let the customer know she, the employee, was inconvenienced by them. I was the only other person in the store at this point. Minutes later, I have found a wonderful (albeit expensive) candle and walked up to the woman behind the register to inquire as to whether or not they were holding a Black Friday thing/sale the coming week, like most retail stores. She stares back at me and then weirdly...mocks me. "A Black Friday THING? No, we're not holding a Black Friday THING. (Laughs at me) The owner never puts things on sale." This was after I overheard her say that the succulents were currently on sale, so this was a completely reasonable question, in my opinion. I was really taken aback. Her harshness/condescension/rudeness made me want to immediately leave, and I did so as quickly as possible without making a purchase. The mean run-in made me feel weird all night. I'm wondering if this is the same employee who was huffing and puffing all over the store in another review -- this certainly had that vibe. read more

Thanks to Yelp, I found this gift shop right on the corner Krog Street Market's parking lot. And let me say, The Collective is a gem. ***** ATMOSPHERE/ DÉCOR: Enter via Lake Avenue NE and find the ascending steps that's completely covered with plants of all sorts. As one can imagine, the gift shop is loaded with gifts of all sorts, and, being a big dude, I had to be mindful not to break anything. So tread lightly. This biz is also not for the claustrophobic type. GOODS: Handmade jewelry, vintage plates, dainty scarves - they have it all. For gifts, I decided to purchase a couple hand towels that showed all of Atlanta's neighborhoods, as well as a wine bottle sleeve. PRICES: Overall, they're fair when considering most things there are hand made from local artists. SERVICE: The owner/ person helping me was the sweetest lady ever. Ideal gifts -- I got them. OVERALL: I would absolutely return. I even may make The Collective my go-to gift shop. read more

I really love this place! I walk by it all the time and always want to go in but I was never quite sure what I'd need. My boyfriend and I finally came in the other day to shop for Christmas gifts and I can say that I'll definitely be back. I can't even list all of the interesting trinkets and items that they have stuffed into such a small space, but you're sure to find something intriguing. They have a full succulent section in the back that I was a big fan of. So if you need any interesting potting ornaments, soil, or interesting succulents you should definitely check this place out. We found the air plants SUPER cool and picked up a few for Christmas gifts. Definitely recommend stopping in to check this place out! read more

This store is simply amazing. I discovered this store with a couple of my friends this past weekend, and even as someone who isn't a plant expert, I was amazed. Even as you're walking up the porch to the entrance of the store, you're greeted by the beautiful arrangements of flowers and plants. The store looks like a little house, and you definitely feel very welcomed! I was so overwhelmed by all the beautiful plants and succulents! The employee was also very helpful since I didn't know much about plants at all. I spent about a good hour exploring every corner of this store, and I wanted to buy half the store, but I thought I would start small first. I ended up buying a succulent for $10 (see picture). In the back corner of the store, they have a sale section of pots and various things for a dollar or two. If you keep going to the back porch, they have a large selection of many succulents and plants that are only $4-5 each. Some are 3 for $10, and they are all simply beautiful. Because of this store (and my lovely friend who loves plants), I have a new appreciation for plants, and I will definitely be back! read more

This place is the cutest little gift shop in the area! I stopped in after lunch at Krog Street Market (it's located right in the parking lot). It has a little something for every type of person. Lots of gifts ranging from antiques to jewelery, houseware, greeting cards, and most importantly, LOTS OF SUCCULENTS. The back patio is full of all different types of succulents and they have an incredible selection of succulent materials in the back. From pots to fillers, stones, etc. this is definitely the place to go for succulent lovers. I have typically gone to the Merchant for little gifts but now the Collective may be my go to. I bought two pre-potted succulents for only $12 each in the same exact pots that I have seen at other stores with much higher price tags. So glad I ventured in last weekend and I will definitely be back! read more

Quaint little shop, lots of do dads. It can feel a bit claustrophobic because of the amount of items. We were not greeted or acknowledged as patrons or even human beings. Walked around the entire store there were two employees working neither spoke to us, more so just looked to make sure we didn't 5 finger any items. I will not return. I've debated with myself back-and-forth if I was going to do this review but after much consideration I decided to Share my experience at the collective. On Sunday, November 1, 2020 , myself and three of my friends were site seeing and eating at the krog street market and decided to walk across to the collective. I raved to my friends about how I had been here before and purchased succulents from them and it was such a cute little shop and they had lots of little trinkets and things that they could get to take back home to California with them and tons of Instagram worthy things to post. Upon entering the shop we were all so excited but not overly loud or being obnoxious at all, One of my friends mistakenly left the door open upon entering into the shop, immediately we heard a huge sigh, and then we hear someone stumping very aggressively to the front door and then we hear the door slam very hardly. At that point I was in the far right side of the shop so I couldn't see who was doing the stomping and huffing and puffing, but I could hear their voice. I then hear the voice ask my younger sister " do you need something " but in a very aggressive and agitated tone. My sister is very timid and shy so she just said no and proceeded to come over by where I was, I then hear the person stomp back to the desk where they were sitting and slam a paper down on the table. I instantly felt unwelcomed and did not wanna spend my money there. So I told my friends let's go upon leaving someone left the door open again being we were in a rush to leave because we felt so much animosity and as were walking down the steps almost into the parking lot a white woman with short black hair, wearing glasses maybe in her late 30s early 40s, with a medium size build with tattoos comes storming after us yelling " yeah ladies thanks for your service it was great *clap* *clap* you did awesome" very sarcastically and Very aggressively. I instantly felt attacked and like this situation was going to be like what you see on the news when there's tension between blacks and whites. In that moment none of us felt safe we've all felt like we were going to be attacked and that the situation was going to go left very quickly. Initially we all flee to the car to get away from her, but then I started to feel like why should we be afraid and running to the car when she supposed to be providing excellent customer service, so I got out of the car, myself and my friend entered back into the shop upon entering we made sure to close the door behind us. I went to the desk and I said "hello are you the owner of the shop?" She answered no this is the owner of the shop and gave me the card, I said "OK I just want you to know that I'm going to be reaching out to the owner to let him know about the customer service that we received today, I'm not sure if your having a bad day because everyone has them but your customer service was horrendous, you were extremely aggressive and you chased us outside to the parking lot and I don't see where that's OK in any instance. As soon as we entered into the shop we were met with a hostile attitude". I then told her both of my parents owned businesses and work in HR and would never treat a customer like this regardless of whatever may have happened. She then sarcastically and very arrogantly said "oh you can call the owner I dare you to" and proceeded to Act as if I called the owner nothing would happen and she didn't care. I was completely disgusted with her behavior and the way she was treating paying customers. She proceeded to say that she was frustrated because people leave the door open and that it's annoying and that there's a sign on the door. I then walked over to the door and they had a index card that said please close the door behind you on the back of the door not the front so if you don't look behind you you would not see this postcard saying to please close the door. And even if she felt this was common sense that's still no way to treat a customer. Upon leaving we immediately called the owner, at first he was very nonchalant as well and was apologizing but it was very sarcastic, until I told him I was a blogger and a YouTube his tone changed drastically I explain to him The situation and told him I would be doing a video and yelp review Following this conversation. He proceeded to tell me that I was being vindictive by doing so because he already apologized. I don't see how me sharing my experience at his place of employment is being vindictive. Especially since the employee felt like she was above him and wouldn't be in trouble. I'm sharing this experience to warn others and bring light to terrible customer service I will not be returning here ever and I hope that everyone else has a better experience there than Myself and my friends. read more

What a cute little shop! I happened upon this gem after having brunch at Krog Street Market. At first glance I thought it was a residence but turns out its a shop full of art by local artists, antiques, jewelry, and every plant killer's favorite- succulents! The whole back patio is dedicated to a variety of succulents. It's a lovely space. The shop isn't huge but it is well laid out. I would recommend walking through twice because you will likely miss something the first time around. Great place for gifts for all types of folks and you can feel good about supporting our local artists! read more

We were out on a beautiful Sunday and decided to have a look inside of The Collective for a birthday gift after having a delicious latte and pastry inside Krog. Although there were many interesting things inside, were had questions. There were two employees/owners who walked past us to greet other patrons. Not sure why but one could guess that it was because of the color of our skin, so sad. We left and will spend our dollars at a black owned store. Never will return. read more

This shop is an absolute gem! Located in an old house, the porch is absolutely filled with beautiful flowers and plants offering a romantic backdrop for pictures. Upon entering the cottage, you are immediately assaulted by items tucked into every nook and cranny. From chic vintage finds, to amazing artisan wares you are sure to find something you e never seen before and can not live without! Not what I was expecting but a cool little shop in Inman Park. Mostly filled with small gifts from local artists but the prices are too high. I did however like the build your own succulents station. This is a place to buy gifts rather than antiques. However with the selection and prices it's not my favorite co-op around. read more
