The Merchant is a home goods gift store carrying a number of thoughtfully curated specialty products. Located at the Krog Street Market, the interior aesthetic reads industrial storehouse meets white-washed farm living room. Exposed high ceilings painted black with spotlights, hanging 60s style vintage lamps, a lacquered wooden canoe suspended mid-air and a large lightbulb arrow sign add a quirky vibe. Products include kitchen gadgets and serving ware (hand towels, plates, bowls, measuring cups, cocktail accessories, glasses, handsoap), books (travel, art, history, food/recipe, coffee table), Georgia-related souvenirs and packaged food gifts (candies and chocolate, cookies, puzzles, etc), gifting paper (like cards, gift wrap, gift bags), candles and home decor items (wall art, prints, bookends), and some seasonal holiday items that fall into above categories. They carry Lucia candles which are one of my favorite candle makers in terms of elegant home fragrances, though I only saw their seasonal fir/evergreen scent which unfortunately wasn't a love. Price range falls into the higher end so not an everyday shopping kinda place, though I'd recommend for an occasional treat or place to buy a nice souvenir. Staff seemed helpful and able to provide recommendations. Parking is available street side in the neighborhood. read more

Selection. This place has so many unique items like vintage biology posters, jelly cat stuffies for the babes, nice stationary, beautiful housewares, art prints along with vintage art work, lovely coffee table books... the list goes on. Prices were a bit high IMO yet you could find some items reasonably priced items. I was immediately greeted upon entering. This store is very well merchandised and reminds me a little like Anthropologie. The surrounding is cool, so there is lots to do in the area. read more

Good selection of home decor items at fair prices. I got a cozy throw blanket that looks even better in person than online.

A $47 mug from Vermont? Eek. But The Merchant won me over by selling a line of more reasonably-priced Atlanta-themed dishware from one of my favorite stores in NYC, Fishs Eddy. Plenty of house goods and kitchen things were up for grabs (books, pillows, cards to name a few), and someone greeted us warmly as we entered the shop. I didn't buy anything due to the holidays having just passed but could certainly picture myself coming back to The Merchant to pick up an abundance of gifts. Check it out if you're in the Krog Street Market area. read more

The Merchant - Atlanta dishware by Fishs Eddy - Gift Shops Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Super cute crafty gift store located at Krog Market. There are so many things in this store from cooking accessories, gift items, candles, books, decor, tea sets and so much more. I bought a high price candle and was hoping for the strongest smell out of it but if was a medium strength. It's definitely worth to look around. The staff was nice, the store was well keyed out and organized. read more

Neat little gift shop that's located in the Krog Street Market. Random bits of interesting trinkets that are close to unique if you're looking for an odd gift for a hard-to-purchase-for person. A lot of the stuff is kitchen related and much of it is Atlanta focused, but that's perfectly okay. Much of it is over towards higher priced, at least for my budget. You might feel differently. It reminded me of a shop we have in Charlotte, Paper Skyscraper. read more

It's a beautiful place, they have too many cute things in the store but I was looking for souvenirs gift about Atlanta and they don't have too much! The girl in the counter was super helpful and nice. They have so many pretty things for decor. Super nice located read more

Fun. Great products. But it stops there. I refuse to gravitate towards shops that sell $37 bars of soap in an up and coming part of town. I suppose I'm not the target customer, a teacher on a budget. read more

Adorable, well-merchandised gift shop with lots of cute things to browse, especially after grabbing some food from Krog. Imagine the gift section of an Anthropologie on steroids and you have The Merchant. I'm a huge fan of Rifle Paper Company, and they carry a pretty nice assortment here. However, I wouldn't shop expecting a bargain as things seemed pretty pricey. read more

I thought The Merchant was super cute! They have a variety of fun items and their prices are not super high! The staff was very nice and I loved the fact they are open late! I travel to Atlanta for work and it's hard to find places open past 630! Definitely check them out if you are in the area! read more

I was disappointed to be greeted with negativity and vulgar language per the post cards that you see upon first entering this store. Not appropriate for kids to see. And moreover, just mean, negative and something unnecessary. I had intended to get a lovely gift for a friend with stage 4 lung cancer. She needs positive in her life and I'll not support any store that is okay selling such crass inventory. read more

I came upon this store because I was looking for some atlanta gifts to bring back home. Upon entering I noticed they had some cute things, but the price is absurd. I was hoping to buy some things for some friends and family, but I left with a postcard of atlanta for myself to craft and even that was expensive. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap, but the prices were even more than what I expected. This store has a mixture of a lot of things, but do not really have souvenirs. It's more of things you would buy for your house. I'll skip this place next time. read more

They have a great selection of decorating books, cards and boutique gifts. Really enjoyable shopping experience. I was able to find items to take home. read more

The shop is super cute and always has nice gifts, candles, cookbooks, etc. I've noticed a pretty significant markup between products sold here versus directly from the brands they carry, but oh well, I know they have to make a profit. However, the man with glasses that I've seen in here for years (manager or owner I assume?) is consistently rude. I went in yesterday to pick up a gift on my way to a birthday dinner. I spent over $100 on a journal and a candle. I asked if they had any tissue paper and he was obviously annoyed and only spoke to me in "mhm"s for the rest of the transaction. I would've happily paid for tissue paper if that were the issue, but I think he was just annoyed with me. Which I don't understand. Don't run a gift shop if you're going to be annoyed when someone needs tissue paper for a gift? Puts a bad taste in your mouth when you're paying so much for items that could easily be bought elsewhere. read more

One of my favorite spots for gifts, greeting cards, and Atlanta trinkets. Staff is super nice! Selection changes once in a while, always fun to find something new read more

Great store! Love all the little crafts and trinkets, which gives the store a sort of unique look. Only reason I will be giving a four star is because it is way overpriced. But I can understand that, because it is in Atlanta, but maybe lower the price for some tiny crafts. Thanks! read more

This is a beautiful store with a great selection, but unfortunately my recent experience there will keep me from ever returning. Myself and two friends entered the store to browse and look for Christmas gifts for family. We are all young professional women and carry ourselves with respect and kindness. Upon entering the store, the woman working did not greet or acknowledge us in any way. A few minutes into browsing around, it became very clear that she was suspicious of us as she continually followed us around the store while trying to act like she was checking on things. We did nothing in our behavior to give the impression we would have stolen/broken anything or caused any trouble. It was extremely, extremely obvious she was doing and it made our experience uncomfortable and annoying to deal with. If this is how she handled three white women, I cannot even imagine what would happen if a person of color were shopping with her working in the store. Really disappointing as this is a really nice shop, but I will not be returning. read more

The Merchant is such a fun gift store to periodically browse. They have a huge selection of Rifle Paper goods which, while no longer the most unique look in the world, are still total eye candy. Their jewelry is just okay, but they have a lot of neat bric-a-brac for the home. My fiance surprised me with a cool print of the Fox Theater from this store and I absolutely love it. read more

CONFUSED YET? The Merchant is a little gift shop that is located in Krog Market. If you are looking to purchase a souvenir from your visit, you can stop here and purchase handbags , books, china, home decor, stationary and home furnishings. At the rear of the store, they have a special section for children that consists of learning toys, books, stuffed animals and more. I found this shop in need of a serious identity and I wish that it was a bit more focused. It looked as if someone cleaned out their attic and just dumped it all here. Oh well, perhaps you will enjoy the hunt! read more
