Loved this book store. The selection of books are very interesting. It's not the kind of book store you'd come to for the top New York Times best seller. It's the type you would come to get the book you never knew you wanted or needed. Sure the classics are there and some popular books. But not like a Barnes and Noble. We bought stickers, books where you add entries, journals and of course regular books! I will return and make this a store that I visit every time I am in ton. A must visit! read more

I really enjoy going inside this bookstore! It is organized nicely and have plenty of things to select from. They have a variety of book options depending on what genre of books you like. There is even a section for children books. You may also find some local art here which is cool! I can't speak much of the service as I didn't purchase anything this time and no one ever came to ask me if I needed help. So you need additional help, you may need to go to the cashier and ask. Also, books and art is regularly priced. Nothing was over or under valued. read more

Cute little bookstore smacked in the middle of Ponce City Market. I ended up there in an impromptu manner, but was it really impromptu if I can resist everything except a bookstore? Except well, this may have been a bookstore, but it wasn't the bookstore if you know what I mean. It was neat, it had books and gifts, but it wasn't the best bookstore I've ever seen if that makes sense. Still, I'm a fan. I visited Posman Books after initially leaving Ponce City Market. I realized that I needed a book to occupy my time, so I went back to get a book. I ended up getting there 30 min before closing. They had a huge selection of books, but at firs I had problem finding one because there were no genre/sub genre signs. I ended up picking up a thriller and hoped for the best. I am suchhhh a sucker for a book store so I was pumped when I saw Posman on the Ponce City Market directory. We drove to Atlanta and I unexpectedly finished a book on the way down which left me with absolutely nothing to occupy my brain on the 5 hour trek back to North Carolina. In steps Posman! I had so much fun browsing the neatly stacked books while enjoying that new book smell that infiltrates the room. (If you know you know.) I was going to pick up a book club book and the computer said they had two copies in stock, but unfortunately after we searched the shelves, the book was nowhere to be found. I was able to find a thriller I heard great things about so all was not lost. The staff members were so kind and they do a great job keeping the store organized. My only issue was the fact that I couldn't find any genre labels posted. A "thriller" or "non fiction" or "memoir" sign would have made my search a little easier. read more

Didn't expect to find a Posman Books in Atlanta! I first came across their shop in NY-- pleased to learn that they've spread across several cities on the East Coast. I love their book selection and knick knacks. The PCM location was not one to disappoint. For COVID safety purposes, staff wear masks, social distancing is encouraged, and hand sanitizer is provided. This spot is at the front of PCM, near the uncovered parking lot. When I stopped in on a Monday afternoon, the store was already brimming with customers. Other than books, they carry novelty items, gifts, and souvenirs. The staff are so friendly and clearly passionate readers, happy to provide recommendations if you ask. I left with some souvenirs and Jeannette McCurdy's book, I'm Glad My Mom Died (great read, btw). The variety here is enough to tempt any visitor into making an impulse purchase or two. read more

I love this bookstore! I am at Ponce City Market at least twice a week, and I always stop by Posman Books. They switch up their displays consistently, so there are always new things to browse. Not only do they have a huge book selection, but they also have cute trinkets, stickers, puzzles, tote bats, etc. The staff are always super friendly. One downside is this place is very small, and when it gets crowded, it is kind of hard to move around. Kinda claustrophobic! They sometimes also do author signings and events, which is something to look out for! read more

I wasn't sure if it was just an Atlanta thing, but it turns out that Posman Books is a bookshop with locations in NYC, Boston, and Atlanta. This one at Ponce City Market (PCM) is across from the Anthropologie, in that little island of shops out front. It's filled to the ceiling with books (obviously), but also whimsical cards and gifts. I particularly liked their selection of locally-themed items which included PCM stickers, Atlanta keychains, neighborhood prints, Georgia cards, pins, and even a Murder Kroger magnet. I picked up a cool bookmark to give to someone, and I almost went home with a puzzle. And I even compiled a mental list of books I need to get my mitts on in the future. Downside: it can definitely feel cramped if the store is packed since the displays are close together and it's not B&N-sized. But Posman is definitely a browse-worthy stop at PCM! read more

Love this bookstore. I like to come on Sunday mornings right when PCM opens so it isn't too crowded yet. It is a narrow and full space so it can be tough to make your way past people once the beltline crowd picks up. They have a great selection of books, cards, and other knickknacks. The book system isn't totally clear other than adult books at the front, a cooking/food section toward the registers, and kids in the back. However, it doesn't really matter because each table/shelf has something to look at and it's worth taking your time to get lost in the selection. They also do have a shelf with staff picks on the front left side of the store, which I always appreciate browsing. Definitely worth a stop in for a new book or some ATL themed merch. read more

Overpriced, however for those who really like spending time at book stores like myself, it is a really cute gem of a store located at a fun place...Ponce Market. It also carries unique items/stationery which is what I ended up buying. I am guilty! I browse books at stores for hours and borrow the chosen ones from the library. This bookstore is small with no sitting spaces. In other words, you can browse but if you want more than that, you must buy the item. It's called "making sure it is a profitable bookstore". Great spot in the Ponce City Market. There are tons of things to look at in here, not just books. You can grab some pretty unique, thought-provoking, and witty gifts here. The store is really laid back and there are a ton of people browsing. Just when you get inspired by a certain section, you turn around and find another section to spend more time in. Books, cards, small novelty items, there were also puzzles and children's toys. I did notice a lot of Japanese items: little cutey rubber covers to protect cell phone charger cords, character lamps, mugs, stickers, and patches. I ended up walking away with a "weirdo" patch, but there is something for everyone here. read more

Super cute book store at Ponce City Market. I love bookstores! Makes me sad that you don't see too many of them around anymore. I hope shops like Posman Books will bring the popularity back. Posman is bright and clean. Filled top to bottom with books. They also have other fun gift ideas such as super cute tea holders in a variety of styles to make you smile when you see their options. I purchased two mini calendars of 365 daily pages of fun. They also have a great children's book sections as well as stuffed animals and other novelty items. Their book and greeting card selection are the reason I have come back here twice now from Augusta. Every item in this store is well thought out and I could peruse in here for longer but I never give myself enough time! I always leave with something Atlanta-related, buttons and greeting cards. Ponce City Market is just full of surprises. Posman Books is one of them and I just happened upon the store as I was walking around. It's sad that we don't have more bookstores like this one because places like Paris they are on every corner. What exactly am I referring to? Well, Posman caters towards those who enjoy specialty things. They do have all your standard top sellers but where they excel at is their selection of specialty books. Whether you are looking for something about a specific culture or a specialty food they have a large selection. They also have a decent collection of gardening books. I enjoy cooking (I am by no means a chef, but I enjoy the sport) so every time I walk through I look at the various titles they have in stock. They have great selection of bread books which I generally have to order online. It's nice to just be able to walk in and peruse the books before you buy them. What I also really enjoy about Posman is their selection of stationery. In particular, they have these beautiful cards. I bought one featuring an artist (I believe from out west) who painted these beautiful leaves of seaweeds on the front. I also got myself a stack of thank you cards for those "just in case" moments. Every time we come by PCM, we stop in. Glad that they are here. Hope that they continue to stay here! read more

This small bookstore in Ponce City Market makes up for its lack of size with an incredibly thoughtful selection of books. If you have an intellectual streak there is a good chance you will find something thought provoking. Could you buy it cheaper online, probably. But I like to support a bookstore that takes the extra time to introduce me to a book I like that I would have missed otherwise. Hyperlinks and search engines are very powerful but they don't fully replace the experience of browsing a thoughtful selection of physical books on a book shelf IMHO. I LOVE bookstores. And I did really like Posman Books' selection. However, part of why I love bookstores is that they're quiet and relaxing and you can browse. I stopped by Posman (in Ponce City Market) on a Saturday around lunch time, and nothing about Posman Books/Ponce City Market was relaxing. It was packed. I was looping around areas of the store just trying to walk around and get around large groups of people. It's a small store and just had wayyyyyyy too many people in it! I love this store! There are so many things to look at!Everything looks so interesting and fascinating. They have many cards to choose from for all sorts of occasions and from numerous artists and companies; even occasions you never even thought of. Other than the great selection of cards, they also have a variety of books. The section in the front were books for grownups which didn't interest me as much as the books in the back which were for the children! There were books about famous Americans with caricature illustrations, the Little Golden Books, Dr. Seuss books, and many more! I was like a kid in a candy store fascinates with all the things I see except they were books not candy. When I was looking at the cards, I kept thinking of people that would be perfect to give the specific cards to. I will definitely be back to pick out the cards perfect for the people in my life! read more

There are some excellent titles in this small bookstore in Ponce City Market, but good luck finding them on your own. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the placement of the various piles of books. If you have time and energy, and love the thrill of the hunt, then by all means, brave the crowds and the parking hassles to check this out. This little book shop is probably one of my favorite parts of PCM. With a wide selection of books and various little knick knacks, Posman's is always simply lovely. The employees are so sweet and clearly well read, which is a nice change from a larger more corporate book store. The store itself is wonderful. Great children's sections, lots of unique gifts, good selection of classics & new releases. I live a block away and have visited the store 4 times - each time I was able to find the book I was looking for and at a fair price. However, the staff doesn't greet you when you walk in the door, doesn't respond if you say hello, doesn't speak while you are checking out, doesn't thank you for shopping there, doesn't say bye - nada, nothing, complete mutes. It's so odd. I get that it's a bookstore and I'm pretty quiet myself, but just basic communication with customers should be feasible. I'm hoping management sees this review and makes a change because I really want to love going to this store. However, I'm not going to keep spending my money at a local store if they can't even manage the most rudimentary customer service. read more
