Stay away. I found an item deep in the display case and asked about the price since similar items…read morenearby were clearly marked. Once staff realized it may have been more valuable than expected, their tone changed and I was told they needed to check with the seller. Staff were openly commenting about how nice the item was and saying they wished they had noticed it sooner. No so long after placing the item on hold I received a call saying the item was suddenly "not for sale." Whether intentional or not, it gave the impression that desirable items may not actually be available to customers. Sad to say I don't recommend. Edit: The reply from the owner clearly shows how out of touch he is with his store and its sellers. There are multiple people who can attest of the behavior of the modifying and removal of the piece I was interested in. A simple check in with your employees would confirm the situation. Congrats on the 45 years you hold in the community maybe tell your sellers to try and do better in the years to come! Honesty and humility go a long way. I quickly found a spot and we entered through the side entrance. Soon as we entered we were welcomed warmly with eye contact and smiles. We just took our time looking at all the different fun stuff. From a full size couch to a board game; you name it they have it. You can easily get lost in here for hours just browsing around and nobody's rushing you. Take your time. I would definitely recommend a visit to Kudzu.

They're also very honest-- I was thinking about some outdoor furniture which they pointed out to me wasn't in the best condition. Most…read morerecently, they PERFECTLY fixed a skirt for my wedding outfit after it was pretty seriously damaged at the dry cleaner. This repair involved not only repairing a large rip, but also unstitching and restitching 16 panels in the skirt and hemming multiple layers of fabric (they moved part of the bottom border to the part of the skirt with the rip to cover it). My skirt had a complicated pattern and was a delicate material, so all of this had to be very carefully and expertly done. My skirt came out looking better than I could have imagined - they are so skillful. The work is very high-quality and at a fair price. Drop-off and pick-up is on Saturdays (limited hours) in downtown Decatur or you can coordinate via text with Barwin to pick up at their home. I'm definitely willing to make the time in my Saturday schedule to go to them because they are that good at what they do. If you need a good tailor, I highly recommend Barwin and Yaser at Morning Star.

During my visit, it seemed everywhere I turned, an employee was there to greet me and ask me if I needed anything. As I approached the key stand to get some keys cut, there were two employees ready to help. Shout-out to super-friendly Sahil for proactively asking me about my keys as soon as I pulled them out of my pocket. She let me know what my options were and I chose to have three standard keys cut at $2.98 each. Three total rang up to $9.74 after tax. Sahil told me this is the "fun" Ace Hardware and I could see why. The staff trended younger and more "hip." I'm a fan of Ace Hardware in general because each store feels like a small, local, and unique business. This one especially so. It's popular among locals with a strong sense of neighborhood and community. And, like other city Ace Hardware stores, it was densely-packed with all sorts of useful hardware and garden items. If you've never visited this location before, be sure to check out the beautiful plant room. They have a good selection of plants and a big wall of seeds. They even sell King of Pops here. Limited free parking is available on-site. I visited during a peak time and was able to snag a spot. If no spots are available, just park on Drewry St NE (also free). The lot is reserved for Intown Ace customers only.

My most recent visit was not the first, and most definitely will not be my last to this store (I'm already counting down til the seasonal candles get back in!). This was one of the first stores I found when I moved up here in December as I was exploring Decatur because I was told it was a nice little town not far from my house. I was not disappointed with what I found! I moved a week before Christmas so actually did a good deal of shopping as I tend to be a procrastinator (grin). I used to work next door so would stop by from time to time on my break to see if there was anything new. My most recent visit was because my mom was in town and this little boutique was on my list of must places I wanted her to see because she'd love the little treasures I came across here. The staff is friendly, and the items are of wonderful quality and unlike most you'll find in Atlanta :) This store is a must see in Decatur for sure! read more

I only had the opportunity to visit Vivid Boutique once before (sadly) moving away from the Decatur area, but I haven't stopped talking about it! I must have spent 45 minutes in there--there are so many wonderful things to look at! I finally settled on several tins of the Sanctuary Botanicals Shea Butter--the Green Tea and Lime scent is the only scent I wear (I don't even use perfume anymore, I love it that much)--and a small vial of lavender oil. There was a festival in the Decatur Square that day, not to mention that it was ridiculously hot outside, and Christina was kind enough to hold onto my purchases while I visited the festival (and so my Shea butter didn't melt outside). I really love this store and wish I'd had more of an opportunity to shop there--hooray for online shopping! Don't miss a chance to check it out if you can--its a real treasure. read more

I was in Atlanta visiting a friend when I stopped in at Vivid Boutique. I found the products charming, and ended up purchasing a purse, a wallet, 3 small soaps, and a magnetic decorative calendar. I'm very happy with my purchases, and I liked the many items in the store featuring vintage bird images (including my calendar). I was also impressed by the prices. More than anything, I'd like to mention how helpful the staff member who assisted me was. She was extremely pleasant throughout my visit, she offered to hold my bag while I shopped elsewhere upon finding out I was parked nearby, and she even printed out MapQuest directions for me when she heard I was from out-of-town and needed to know the best way to get to my next destination. That personal touch is what made me decide to take the time to leave a good review. read more

Wow! I agree with the previous three reviews. My mom was in town, so we wandered over to Decatur for the boutiques. Much to my surprise, we stumbled upon Vivid after a break at the coffee shop next door. I'm sorry I didn't get the woman's name that was working, but she was super nice, helpful AND knowledgable. The boutique is adorable, affordable and unique. I will be returning to shop for gifts (and stuff for myself)! You will find trivets, scented candles & soaps, handmade jewlery by the owner, beautiful aprons, unique hanging art, picture frames, stationary, purses and so much more. I was looking for a special gift for my wife (and new mom) for Mother's Day. A friend of mine suggested I look around Decatur because they have a bunch of small specialty shops that one can find some pretty cool gifts. I wandered into Vivid Boutique and checked out their stuff, upon learning that the jewelry is hand-made, in-store, I asked the owner/designer, and overall cool person Christina if she could come up with something that would compliment my wife's tastes. 20 mins later she created a wonderful necklace that I know the wife will love. I love this boutique! It has the cutest gifts that I wish I could receive for my housewarming when I have one. The aprons and decorative kitchen items make me want to become a homemaker just so I can fill my house with what I find there. They have very fragrant candles and soaps, handmade jewelry, and cruelty-free handbags too! One of the things that keeps me going back is they always have some kind of special or sale going on (40% off of bags, spend $35, get free earring, etc...), and the owner is always around to help you find whatever little trinket or special item you're looking for. read more

I love this little store! I once read an article likening Vivid to a more affordable version of Anthropologie and I have to concur. Vivid has truly unique and fun stuff--from soaps to jewelry to purses to home decor--that I don't see anywhere else. And it is so affordable! Vivid has become my go-to place for birthday, Christmas, and hostess gifts and the occasional fun purchase for myself. I also love that the store is locally owned. The store owner is great--wonderfully helpful and not overbearing. And I love that she creates a lot (if not all?) of the jewelry. read more

whenever i go to brickstore, i make sure to windowshop vivid boutique (i'm always at brickstore late, when the shop is closed.) when i'm in decatur during the day, vivid is one place i love to stop and browse. if you love birds, you will love vivid. if you like anthropologie, you should shop at vivid. it has one-of-a-kind items (like anthro) but without the big anthro price tag. what's not to love? adorable housewares, aprons, jewelry, and things that smell good. what more do you want? oh, you want birds. right. that's why you're shopping at vivid. read more

During a very short visit to ATL, I found myself in Decatur for a quick shopping trip. I was so pleased to find many shops; among them, Vivid Boutique which offers the same merchandise as a nationally known, high end boutique at extremely low prices which these days is a thrill in itself. I found the selection of merchandise broad and quality superior, especially the vegan leather handbags! This is a delightful showroom full of suprises. Randomly stopped in here today and left with some cute skeleton key "cap" things and an awesome vegan bag I didn't know I was looking for. The keys were $6 and the bag was half off. As you walk up to the store customers can see pictures, shirts, hats, jewelry and more from the outside windows, and once you walk in you can see just how fantastic this store is inside. The store is home to jewelry and artwork from local artists. Everything about this store screams Atlanta. Literally everything. Pretty much all merchandise have Atlanta logos or have the Atlanta skyline or blueprints of the city. As I walked around the store, the attendant was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the local artists showcased. The attendant stated that she helped manage many of the items purchased in the store and she was a huge influence on my purchase. Since I made a recent move I went for a local candle with a linen fragrance. *Candle: Gleam Living soy candle - Linen ($24.00) The Gleam Living candle came in a basic clear jar with package information located on the bottom of the candle. The lid is made of wood, and underneath the lid is a small sticker with the Gleam Living logo. The second and third reason why I was attracted to the candle was the fragrance and the wooden wick. Personally I understand the necessity of a good candle, and generally a good candle comes with a decent price. However, once I got home and decided to burn this candle I quickly became disappointed. The wooden wick would not stay lit long enough to enjoy the aroma. Overall this store deserves an B+. I enjoyed the store and all of the items in the store, the attendant was insightful and a delight to interact with, and I appreciated the local artwork. Pitfalls, the candle from Gleam living was difficult to light and to stay lit.
