SQ/FT is a quirky retail store that has a lot of humorous, nostalgic and unique items that are great as gifts given to others or even to yourself. This store is steps away from the main entrance to the Decatur MARTA station right off of Church St in Downtown Decatur. Parking in the area is mostly in various paid lots within close walking distance. SQ/FT has so many things that you won't find in regular retail stores. Some of the items, mostly clothing, are Atlanta related and are probably made by locals. I saw soaps, candles, gift cards, books, mugs, games, maps (the super large ones that elementary teachers used to hang on their chalkboards), and gadgets that make you happier and your life so much nicer. The employees are nice and friendly, and have answered many of my questions, most of which are, "What is this?" I just know that, without looking at the customers, the employees can tell exactly where the customers are and what they're looking at by listening to them read out loud the words written on a shirt, wall hanging, gift card, or even aerosol spray, and hearing them laugh. This is a fun store with lots to look at! read more

I like coming in here to check out the unique gifts and items they have. The holiday ornaments are fun/cute, but they were a bit on the expensive side (some I looked at were more than $15). A fun shop to stop into when in Decatur Square area. read more

Sq/Ft is a fun and funky gift shop in downtown Decatur. Their assortment is very eclectic while also appealing to a wide audience, which is a very hard thing to achieve. I would definitely give this shop's buyer an A+. I almost purchased several items but ended up walking out with just a headband, but in retrospect, I kind of wish I hadn't left the other items behind. I'll be back! read more

Beware! Racial Profiling will occur!! On their Saturday Sidewalk sale, my daughter and I popped in this boutique to check it out. Unlike the others, the management in this location failed to provide assistance but followed us around the store and waited near the door until we left!!. My daughter, who's 10, asked so many questions as to why the manager kept looking at us! Smh. I had to have a long Conversation about Racial profiling and how no matter how much times have changed some mindsets don't! You can tell from the photo below we wanted to steal right?! read more

A few weeks ago, I spotted a gorgeous top in the window of this boutique. Sadly Sq/ft was closed for the night but I couldn't stop obsessing over this top. Eventually I was able to go back and lo and behold, it was still there! Only one remained, and it was in my size too. What a happy little fairy tale right there; the top and I were destined to be together. It's fun to just browse this boutique even if you don't leave with anything. The socks for sale are a hoot, and there are eclectic shoes and lovely jewelry up for grabs. I guess it's a good thing the clothes aren't the cheapest. Otherwise I would walk out with half the inventory. Welcoming and smiling staff let you wander around without bugging you. Plus I'm a sucker for a shop that tucks your purchases into an attractive bag, complete with tissue paper. I feel like I'm giving myself a present! read more

I've passed SQ/FT many times and was just able to visit today. I'm so glad I did because it's a great gift store. They primarily sell clothing, accessories (jewelry and purses), home goods, and toiletries. But they also have little odds and ends here and there such as journal notebooks and nail polish. I saw many items that I could by as a gift for a woman or a man. If you're a sock lover, they have walls of them for both men and women - many of which have cartoons and/or quips (I liked a pink pair that read "Boobies.") I purchased a post card and a couple of refrigerator magnets today, and I'm going back for a couple of decorative trays that I didn't buy because I didn't know how I could use them and I'm not a person who purchases knick-knacks. But these little trays were so adorable that I have to go back to SQ/FT to get them. I imagine that a lot of people will find similar items if they were to stop by for a quick look around the store. Like most gift stores, the items at SQ/FT are gift-priced, such as an oven mitt for $14 and a single gift card for $5. Not un-do-able, but not inexpensive. If you're looking for something a little different and/or special for yourself or someone else, SQ/FT is a good place to start. read more

What a fun store!!! First off, you are greeted by a pug. A cute pug that is. This is a dog friendly store. They have really cute clothing and shoes for men, women, and kids. I took my 3 year old in here and almost freaked when he started touching things. However, the owners were super cool about it. My son, who is scared of dogs, even petted the pug. So cute! They had little Havanas in my son's size too. They have little mustashes on them. He really wanted to wear them, but I told him that i needed to pay first. The line was kind of long. Someone who worked there told me not to worry and she cut the tags off so he could wear them. She also ran me up without having me wait in line. Super cool staff. They have a lot of funky and fun attire. It was a little outside my price range, but I am sure that I will be back. I will just need to save up some pennies. Love the COVID safety here and the staff is always extremely friendly. They have a great selection of unique items, great for finding gifts. It's a great spot to browse after dinner or ice cream in the square. Every time I go in they seem to have some thing new that I like. This store is too damm cool and pricey as hell!!The Village in NYC would be hard pressed to show me a store this damn hip and cool without all the pretentious NYC hipster vibe. I just fkn looooove this place. I was browsing for like an hour. Socks, socks and more socks. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing at the no holds bar quotes captured on these foot gloves. No one or nothing is sacred. Cards, book bags. Tshirts. Candles from Good & Well, ornaments. Diaries, books. The pride themselves in gifts both appropriate and inappropriate. This store specializes in quirky and affordable books, puzzles, and gifts for virtually anyone you might know.  Wit and whimsy are prominent themes throughout this eclectic space. So I've read a few comments in other platforms about the staff following around certain patrons while shopping. This store is on Decatur Square and I have seen more than my fair share of the homeless and disenfranchised. A man almost confronted me within 6 inches of my personal space and he was obviously suffering from some type of mental illness. This is all over the square. Homelessness, idlers,drifters. So it's understandable, albeit unfortunate, that these stores on the square may have to take a hyper vigilant approach to the disenfranchised human element right outside their doors. There was a security guard who entered the store as I was looking in window but I am sure his presence had more to do with the man whom I referenced above who was removing clothing, walking into the paths of families, and cursing and gesticulating wildly (Decatur is a haphazard meshing of the haves and have nots). When I entered store no one bothered me and the security guard seemed more interested in chatting up the cute female employees and fingering (no, not the female employees) through books and cards rather than actually doing police work. So no, I did not feel unwelcomed (no shopping while black syndrome) and the super dynamic and cordial chocolate sister working behind the counter answered my questions about the cards and she rung me up while exhibiting both professionalsm and great customer service (all while being sexy as hell!). I spent over $90.00 in this store and I'm always down with supporting the small business. Ohhh yeah, can you guys get some black DECATUR tshirts with white block lettering? XL. Thanks!! read more

The customer service Melissa provided me with today is truly rare in this world! My husband got an awesome Herschel backpack here and it was stolen from his car six months later. Herschel makes so many styles and colors it was no easy task trying to figure out which one he had so we could replace it, but I called both Herschel HQ and SQ/FT to try and figure it out. I got Melissa on the phone and she was soo helpful. She took down my details and spent probably an hour looking through styles and even gave me her cell number so I could text her pics and we could figure it out. She was able to provide even more assistance than the nice lady I got directly at Herschel backpacks. What a gem! (And all the Herschel products they carry on awesome, so check those out for sure!) read more

They have really great gifts and cards - I could literally spend hours walking around and looking through everything. I especially love their hilarious political items (Obama scented candle, "I Touched A Republican" hand sanitizer) but oh my god the prices here are outrageous. A lot of their prices aren't marked, that's how they get you! I paid $18 for a book that costs $9 at Target and on Amazon. Literally so ridiculous. I would come here for gift inspiration but try to find the items for cheaper elsewhere. read more

I was walking through Decatur Square after lunch and happened to see inside of the window of SQ/FT and thought it looked interesting. I was sucked inside and feasted my eyes on what looked like a more approachable, less cacophonous Urban Outfitters. The folks at SQ/FT are really nice. At first, I walked in and swiftly realized that the style at hand may not exactly be my speed. Not many items that they feature at any given times are things that I would purchase for myself, but I was pleasantly surprised with my finds upon my recent visit. They carry a fair amount of items from Patagonia -- backpacks, clothing, etc. I walked over to the sale rack and scored a sweet shirt for a really great price. I also ended up scoring some really cool cologne from Fulton & Roark. I'm excited to come back every now and again and see what's new! read more

Cool little shop in the square in Decatur (oh NOW I get the name). Kind of a more hip and eccentric Urban Outfitters vibe. The clothes are more edgy, but lots of fun finds. The selection is random in a good way - lots of Ts and jeans for women and men, but also very very cool shoes, those smartphone friendly gloves, accessories like earrings, scarves but also good socks. I believe it's owned by the same folks who brought us Squash Blossom, which is not up my alley, but a well loved Decatur institution. Bonus: it's right next to Cakes & Ale Bakery, so easy to have your coffee and biscotti (or dessert and wine) and wander next door for some browsing and buying if so inclined. Very laid back service - no one following you around to "help" but available if you need them. read more

Trendy boutique off the side from the square. The apparel mostly reminds me of Urban Outfitters but condensed and cleaned up. Every time we go in we almost always scope out the sock wall--- despite me never having bought any socks from them. Lots of assorted socks, knee highs to joke ones. They also have a number of nice bags, purses, and boutique apparel. I've yet to actually find anything I'd get for myself, but always tempted on a knick knack or two. Decor inside is generally always pretty cool and staff have usually been to themselves but will say hello-- the usual deal. I usual stop in whenever in the area if only to window shop and see what's new. They're a good memo for possible gifts and a nice quick stop if just wandering about the square/area. read more

This is definitely a Decatur shopping must if you're in the area. They have everything from funny quoted aprons to cute boots to awesome candles to hilarious mugs! They have a knack for selecting what to sell and seem to find products that are ordinary but what they sell is original (um, THE best quoted knee length socks!). Prices are a little higher, but it's worth it for the quality and the solid customer service you get each and every time. read more

This place is awesome. The staff is super nice and helpful, I received recommendations on jeans that I would have never thought to try on and boy am I glad I did. They were under $100 and amazing. The shoe selection is great as well- they carry both men's and women's, walked out with a beautiful pair of winter boots. They have more of an eclectic, one-of-a-kind, modern vibe with a lot of brands that are hard to find in Atlanta. They also support a lot of local artists with custom tees, handmade jewelry, soaps, cards, etc. Definitely my new favorite shopping spot! read more
