Such a cute store! I always pass by it when I'm at Ponce City Market, and yesterday I finally went in for the first time. I loved it! The store was neat and organized, and everything was bright and interesting. The candles smelled so good. It is on the pricier side though. I bought one pen and one candle and it came out to $56-$58. An excellent place for novelty paper, stickers, and above all PENCILS. The prices were a little higher than you'll see in your local department store but they had things that I have been unable to find anywhere in Atlanta: A fountain pen. Specifically a Pilot Kaweco sport, one of the best pens for people interested in learning to use fountain pens. The person working there was very helpful and friendly. She also had knowledge of how ordering of products was done. They also had top quality paper products imported from Germany and Japan... and in unique editions. I was thrilled to find the store. Archer Paper Goods had me intrigued so much that I went inside the store after seeing a large variety of pencils on its displays in the windows. I can't remember the last time I even used a pencil, but this store brought back happy memories of using a yellow #2 pencil with a pink eraser at one end. This store is at the north end of Ponce City Market, right next to the outdoor parking lot (and you have to pay for parking). I noticed that it sells high quality items, mostly stationery and stationery-related things, which also carry high quality prices. If you just want regular, run-of-the-mill stationery products, go to the big discount stores. Come to Archer Paper Goods if you would like to buy stationery that others would love to receive as gifts. I don't normally go into paper goods/stationery stores, but this place kept me captivated for about 20 minutes and I slowly walked around browsing through all the sections. I saw some very nice cards, sketch pads, reading books, art, and pens, among other things. I even stopped to read all of the many memo pads displayed against the front wall: they had humorous statements on them, and I actually laughed out loud while reading most of them. read more

This was my second visit to Archer Paper and as others have said, I wouldn't necessarily call this a stationery store. They have quite a few products in the way of pencils, cards, and gifts to choose from. However, I always leave wishing they had more in the way of notebooks, washi, pens, stickers, etc., and less Rifle Paper Co. That being said, I totally get they have to stock what will sell. I will say I was really happy with their selection of Blackwing pencils! I had my eye on 2 particular colors of the Pearl line for a while but could only find them in sets of 12 when I looked at shops online. Thankfully, they had them for sale individually! They fired their entire staff at the trilith location with zero notice to their employees. Then the store closed within 24 hours of doing so. They also did not provide drinking water or breaks to their employees. Paid employees a week late and had multiple fire code violations. read more

Archer makes my top 5 list of best paper/stationery stores in the US. They've got goods from everywhere you could imagine. For those of you into Japanese products, you can find top quality items here as well. There are plenty of cards, gifts, accessories, pen/pencil goods, and some more unique items to choose from here. The entire store is moderately sized and laid out very well. If you're looking for a gift for any occasion, Archer won't disappoint! read more

To call Archer Paper Goods a stationery store is sort of a dazzling overstatement. The shop was mostly filled with greeting cards and festive tchotchkes, which all seemed nice, but I was in the market for stationery. Their wall of traditional stationery was all from the same brand. Blindingly colorful and floral. Very pretty, but not appropriate for my particular stationery needs. Most of it was in the journal/recipe card/memo pad category with some thank you notes sprinkled in, not too much availability for writing. I ended up just purchasing the most neutral flat cards I could find. It was also eye-wateringly expensive, however that wasn't too big a deal given its location at Ponce City Market. The staff was friendly and the shop was nice. Seems like a great place to buy off beat greeting cards, but not really too good for much else. read more

Walking into archer paper goods feels like walking into the stationary version of a Wes Anderson film. Super cute, beautiful and well crafted product, helpful staff and large selection of cards. I sometimes pop in just to admire all the pretty things and more often than not leave with something I didn't know I needed. I went into the store last night to buy a gift for a friends birthday. We were their target customer. Needed something now and had $100 to spend. We received little help and seemed actually to annoy the girls working in the store. We ended up finding everything for ourselves with no help. They were to busy to sell to us. If I wasn't in such a time crunch I would have left and not spent my money there. read more

Really lovely stationary/gift shop in Ponce City Market. Full range from Field Notes to frilly Parisian stationary, to Swell bottles and little enamel pins. Definitely a competitor with the Merchant. I can never resist stopping through on my way to Spiller Park :) read more
