I was visiting ATL for the weekend and wanted to visit some yarn stores so the Craftivist came up in my research. I saw that they host events for people to come in and work on their fiber arts a few times a week so this sold me on visiting! When I stopped in, I was greeted and there was space for me to sit down. I even got some help on my project. It was so nice to be community with people who love the fiber arts for a little while. I look forward to supporting their business since they also ship!

Hosted my daughter's 5th birthday party at Art & Soul and it was seriously great. Not only was the staff awesome, but they were so flexible. I opted to do a pottery painting party but they also allowed me to bring in my own canvases for a small fee so that the kids could do both mediums. The kids were able to choose from a variety of plaster figurines and cups, pick up to 5 acrylic paint colors, and get more paint as needed. Aprons were also provided so that the kids didn't get their clothes messy. I was able to come 30 minutes early to set up and could bring anything I wanted (including alcohol!). They provided table cloths and balloons of my color choice so that was a huge help with half the decor. The kids all had a great time and my daughter said it was the best party ever. :) One thing to note is that the space wasn't private for our event so there was another group of adults painting. It didn't bother us, but I did feel bad for them when a bunch of 5yo girls showed up. Luckily, they were almost done and good sports about it.

This is an artist dream. They have probably whatever you need for whichever medium your craft is. My gentleman friend took me on Valentine's Day and I found a fluorescent pink 7mm mechanical pencil. I never knew I needed a pencil so badly. They carry the Ferris Wheel Press inks and a few others but I can't remember the name. Most of the inks cost the same as they would online but you don't have to pay shipping and you can view the swatches to get a good idea of the color you're buying. So happy businesses like this still thrive in Atlanta

At first I resisted the urge... and then I crumbled. LOL. I could stay in this store all day. It was a shared store space with The Book Bird. I love books too. The place was cozy and a crafter's delight. I knit and embroider so I was in heaven. The price of the yarn was a I expected as they are a level up from your commercial store bought yarn. I did walk away with a large embroidery hoop I've been wanting to buy and was pleased at the cost. I will definitely be back!

They support crochet, Tunisian crochet, and knitting. They have classes and the person working there was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were a bit high but reasonable given the quality of the goods offered and the fact that, as a crocheted, I felt welcome. I'm 54 and have been crocheting and knitting since childhood. This is the first time I've ever felt welcome in a local yarn store as someone who prefer crochets.

My friends and I love to spend time together baking whatever, really, and they had some experience working with Sarah on other things - biscuits, breads, etc. So when we found out she had moved to this, we signed up immediately! Signing up had a couple of issues, but luckily Lyn as very responsive via email and we got everything straightened out - kudos to her. The space is set up well, but could use a few things - especially for pie making. A larger fridge, primarily. The little wine-sized fridge just could not keep our pie doughs cold enough for the heat of summer and manage the number of times it was opened and closed as we put things in it. Also, the number of stainless steel tables could not manage the 13 people (it was supposed to be 12) - 8 to 10 really needed to be the max. We were elbow to elbow trying to roll out dough and sharing rolling pins, pastry cutters, etc. Not ideal. Sarah rolled with the punches (pun intended) and we somehow managed to get the pies and galettes knocked out. Baking became the real challenge as the oven space and sizes of pies varied a bit - so luckily we were in the middle of the Curb market, so I shopped for my dinner. Bring your own containers for taking things home - they don't really have anything for you to take stuff out in. By the time my stuff was done, there was not a single bag, sleeve, or anything left for me to put my hot pie into. I'll remember this for next time and bring my own boxes, bags, or whatever based on what I sign up for. Sarah was amazing - she managed the class with ease and explained every step of each process - the whys as well as the whats. I felt as if I understood why my doughs have never worked out and what couple of things I could change in the future to make this process easier. I dropped in and Deanne was so helpful- showed me a couple new techniques- did not know about barber cords but you should go there and get some for next time you need to slip stitches on scrap yarn or a stitch holder. Prices are about the same as any other Michael's. The biggest difference in this store is the cleanliness. Everything is exceptionally organized and neat. It really shows staff cares about appearance and helpfulness. Parking is super easy thanks to the huge lot.
