a great, memorable experience! took my son here for a Sunday Funday and All Fired Up did not disappoint. the pottery selection is great, as are the paint choices. people there are super nice as well. we painted quite a few things, and it turned out to be an expensive visit, but the memories were worth it! a few notes for improvement: for newcomers, it's a bit confusing how the whole thing works, and I'd like to see employees walking around answering questions about how to get started. but once we figured everything out, it was all good. I had a question about a specific type of paint that they answered quickly. all in all a great experience and we will definitely go back.

All Fired Up is such a fun spot to enjoy painting with friends!! They have a huge variety of pottery to choose from, so you can pick almost anything. I wasn't even planning to paint a dog bowl, but found it and thought it would be fun!! We were able to walk in around 6:30 on a Friday, but you can also make reservations in advance!! It might be worth it to guarantee you can get in on the weekend! I will definitely be back to paint again soon!!

Perfect play date option. There's parking in the front and back of the location. We made a reservation ahead of time. We heard this place gets pretty crowded on weekends and that held true. They have a wide variety of ceramics to paint. Price range is 20+. Painting can typically take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. The lady at the desk explained how floor. You bring bottles of paint back to your table and pour paint on the ceramics titles - it gets pretty messy with kids. I would recommend investing in paint trays. Aprons are located in the back, kind of hidden, definitely should be more visible. Blasting take about 3-4 days. Don't forget to check in with Yelp to get 10% off. No problems with redemption.

I didn't realize this place existed. It is right by Emory university in a great spot. There is a parking lot behind the building with free parking. The service was impeccable. The staff helped me draw on my pottery so I could paint, but they also have stencils for you to use. They explained the concept and different ways to paint, the brushes and techniques, and the paints before we got started. The piece is t take home ready, you have to pick it up a week later. This was a great relaxing and enjoyable experience.

This was such a cute and fun date night experience. We had reservations and our table was set up and ready for us upon arrival. There is a wide variety of pottery to choose from with affordable options. They do allow you to bring food and beverages if you would like to do so. If you choose to make a reservation on their website, there is a $25 fee... but that fee is used as a gift card when checking out day of. It took a week for our pottery to be ready and it was in perfect condition when picking up.

My children are like border collies. If you don't productively occupy them, they're liable to chew up the couch. Love them so much, but their energy needs to be directed. Enter AFU. From what I can tell, their clientele is almost exclusively (1) stressed out college students and (2) stressed out parents who need their kids thoughtfully occupied for an hour or two. They have a very simple business model; select a premade ceramic figurine, paint it, and leave it for a week for the staff to glaze/fire it. The selection of unfinished ceramics is really impressive; both side walls of the store are covered with potential projects, each labeled with an all-in price. Lots of options, too. There's functional stuff (plates, mugs, cookie jars) and not-so-functional (characters, holiday items). There's a wall section with neatly organized paints of all shades. Just pick a few colors and let er rip. My kids love this stuff. It's not like they're making something that goes further than kid-craft quality, but it's a fun and low-stress way to pass the time.

Went here for a work team building exercise. What fun! Olivia was the staff member who assisted us. She was very helpful at getting us to be creative and putting aside creativity concerns. There was an abundance of pottery in all price ranges and styles. You can be as simple or intricate as your heart desired. We were not pressured to hurry and there was cool Christmas music playing in the background. We had a great time. I'd come back.

I use to visit this place years ago! I forgot how tranquil it is in there. I noticed they went up on the prices, but it has been awhile. I think the pieces start at like $22. Today I took my nieces to do a little painting. We peacefully painted and so was everyone else in there. They played some Motown Oldies and we just sang with them. The young woman working there was kind. This is a place you can go to by yourself for peace. With someone on a date to have a conversation or if you want your kids to calm down and be quiet for awhile. Can't wait to see our pieces.

Really enjoyed my experience here! It wasn't crowded and the environment was very relaxed. They had spaces between the tables so everything was pretty spaced out. They give you the option to either paint a pre made item or create your own. They have a good selection of items to choose from to paint & a good selection of paint to use. My party chose to paint a pre made item & the turn around time for it was very quick! Will definitely come back again!

Went yesterday as part of Dee Dee's Single ladies Valentines Soiree and everyone was very happy with the my choice of venues. Most of us did pieces that were heart related and I loved when I walked in the door, it was labeled a Stress Free Environment. We reserved the private room, bought in 3 bottles of champange, so pigs in a blanket, some sliders and took some time to catch up on good times, answered some trivia questions, and took our sweet time in painting our pieces. The prices were a little more than I expected, I paid for 3 pieces out of my group and it came up to about $90, and I don;t think people intended to select $30 art pieces, but of all the things they offer $25 is about the average cost per piece. I wanted to do a piggy bank, but the smallest of those was $40 and it wasn't big enuff to fit $40 worth of change into. parking wasnt to much of an issue, but we were there at 5pm on a Sunday, and the guy that was running the shop said that it can be worse on the weekend. Loved that they had some Art books for people to look into if they really wanted to be inspired and artys, plus stencils so you can mark you piece with whatever design strikes your fancy. Also will allow you to come back and finish your piece at a later date, if you aren't at a stopping point when they are about to close. You pay for your piece, and take it with you and then come back to finish the artsy part and have it fired.

My 3 years here were the best years of my entire educational career - including college and grad school! This place really is the most amazing school ever. I remember my first day just like it was yesterday. I was accompanied by one of my best friends, who was also making the big switch to a more civilized school. We sat in front of the bathrooms for like 10 minutes trying to figure out which one was for boys and which was for girls. Turned out you just use whichever one is open! In addition to just being an awesome environment, where you are accepted for being whoever you are, Paideia has a great curriculum. The year is divided into short and long terms. In the long terms, you take the standard stuff - physics, math, languages, etc. The short term is for classes that are a little more outside the box - Sociology of American Rock & Roll anyone? The teachers here are absolutely outstanding! You can totally tell that they love the school and truly believe in it's mission. And Paul, the headmaster, is just an all around great guy. Graduation was awesome. My graduating class was 57 people and Paul made a short speech about every single one of us! I am so thankful that I was able to go to Paideia on a scholarship. I regularly give them money so that others can do so as well. I am also backing them in their efforts to take over the whole block! Go Paideia!

I took the 4 hour workshop which was mostly metal working. It was an amazing experience. Wendy is an awesome teacher and explained each step of the process thoroughly. She made herself available to the students and did a lot of one-on-one work. Although we all made the same project (a ring), Wendy made sure there were many opportunities to customize it. You determine the band size of your ring, decide to have a patterned or smooth band, whether or not to have a stone set in the ring, and the color and shape of the stone. I left Amalgam with a beautiful handmade and custom ring! The 10am class went until 2pm with many opportunities for snacks and bathroom breaks in between. The way the class works is Wendy explains each step as you go along and floats around the room to help people complete that step. For the complicated steps (i.e. Soldering), Wendy works with students one by one to ensure safety and correctness. When you're waiting for your turn or letting your ring sit in the "pickling solution" as Wendy calls it, you can relax and do whatever. I snacked (bring food or buy it at the cafe right outside), socialized, and studied for an upcoming exam I had; so, bring things to do or not - just a heads up. Remember to wear close toed shoes, and be ready for an easy, relaxing Saturday at Amalgam if you take the 4 hour workshop, which I highly recommend. It's a fabulous activity for mom/dad and daughter/son dates, a girl/guy's day, or plain ol' self care. Location and parking: The studio is situated in a grouping of buildings that kind of look like bungalows. When pulling into the lot, you won't immediately see Amalgam. You will see a small cafe and a storefront with a big letter "D" on it. Amalgam is between those about 100 ft farther back.
