Such a fun place!! To celebrate my besties birthday recently, we took in an afternoon of fun that ended at All Fired Up. I hadn't done pottery painting in so long, All Fired Up was the perfect choice for us to celebrate our birthday girl. Located on a stip next to a busy street, All Fired Up offers parking behind their building which they share with neighboring businesses. When we went inside, I was surprised at how busy it was but didn't realize that kids were still out of school and enjoying some DIY pottery just like me. We made reservations for four and were surprised to see our name on a table, securing our timing and seating. This spot is also BYOB! We brought in some champagne to toast the occasion as we took in our crafts, such a nice touch whether you're with your girlies or on a solo DIY project. The variety of pottery options was incredible! From tiny pieces like ring holders to massive plates and animal sculptures - there's really something for everybody. The paint color options are clearly displayed with ink blots so that everyone knows what final shades to expect once their pieces are taken from the kiln. There are also a number of supplies such as paintbrushes, pencils, etc., all items needed to channel your inner artist. My girls and I sat at our little table for about 2 hours sipping on our bubbly, chatting and painting away. The place was really all abuzz with excitement from the amateur artists around the studio, never getting too loud or overwhelming. My only complaint is that it would be great to have more elbow room and space, as we were seated in front of some pottery options and other guests had to break their necks sliding behind our chairs/table to pick their pottery. Really close quarters for such fragile pieces! At the end of our visit we had some amazing painted pieces that we absolutely loved creating together and vowed to return to enjoy more pottery time. a great, memorable experience! took my son here for a Sunday Funday and All Fired Up did not disappoint. the pottery selection is great, as are the paint choices. people there are super nice as well. we painted quite a few things, and it turned out to be an expensive visit, but the memories were worth it! a few notes for improvement: for newcomers, it's a bit confusing how the whole thing works, and I'd like to see employees walking around answering questions about how to get started. but once we figured everything out, it was all good. I wish I could say something about the painting experience, but sadly I didn't even get one. I came in on a Thursday as a walk in with my boyfriend around 4pm and the woman told us "yeah.. we dont have space for walk ins today.. feel free to look around though." When we were walking out, I saw multiple tables open that didn't have a reservation marking on it. She just seemed quick to turn us away without any real reason/solution. Her demeanor just seemed very off putting. The fact that she also told us to "feel free to look around though" knowing we wouldn't be able to partake in any painting activities is very audacious. They have a wide variety of ceramics to paint. Price range is 20+. Painting can typically take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. The lady at the desk explained how floor. You bring bottles of paint back to your table and pour paint on the ceramics titles - it gets pretty messy with kids. I would recommend investing in paint trays. Aprons are located in the back, kind of hidden, definitely should be more visible. Blasting take about 3-4 days. Don't forget to check in with Yelp to get 10% off. I didn't realize this place existed. It is right by Emory university in a great spot. There is a parking lot behind the building with free parking. The service was impeccable. The staff helped me draw on my pottery so I could paint, but they also have stencils for you to use. They explained the concept and different ways to paint, the brushes and techniques, and the paints before we got started. The piece is t take home ready, you have to pick it up a week later. My children are like border collies. If you don't productively occupy them, they're liable to chew up the couch. Love them so much, but their energy needs to be directed. Enter AFU. From what I can tell, their clientele is almost exclusively (1) stressed out college students and (2) stressed out parents who need their kids thoughtfully occupied for an hour or two. They have a very simple business model; select a premade ceramic figurine, paint it, and leave it for a week for the staff to glaze/fire it. The selection of unfinished ceramics is really impressive; both side walls of the store are covered with potential projects, each labeled with an all-in price. Lots of options, too. There's functional stuff (plates, mugs, cookie jars) and not-so-functional (characters, holiday items). There's a wall section with neatly organized paints of all shades. Just pick a few colors and let er rip. My kids love this stuff. It's not like they're making something that goes further than kid-craft quality, but it's a fun and low-stress way to pass the time. read more

I use to visit this place years ago! I forgot how tranquil it is in there. I noticed they went up on the prices, but it has been awhile. I think the pieces start at like $22. Today I took my nieces to do a little painting. We peacefully painted and so was everyone else in there. They played some Motown Oldies and we just sang with them. The young woman working there was kind. This is a place you can go to by yourself for peace. With someone on a date to have a conversation or if you want your kids to calm down and be quiet for awhile. Can't wait to see our pieces. read more

Do not come here! I spent 5 hours painting a plate and when I picked it up it was completely ruined, with the plate have missing chunks of paint. This had to be due to an employee messing with it because this was definitely not the plate I left with them. Went yesterday as part of Dee Dee's Single ladies Valentines Soiree and everyone was very happy with the my choice of venues. Most of us did pieces that were heart related and I loved when I walked in the door, it was labeled a Stress Free Environment. We reserved the private room, bought in 3 bottles of champange, so pigs in a blanket, some sliders and took some time to catch up on good times, answered some trivia questions, and took our sweet time in painting our pieces. The prices were a little more than I expected, I paid for 3 pieces out of my group and it came up to about $90, and I don;t think people intended to select $30 art pieces, but of all the things they offer $25 is about the average cost per piece. I wanted to do a piggy bank, but the smallest of those was $40 and it wasn't big enuff to fit $40 worth of change into. parking wasnt to much of an issue, but we were there at 5pm on a Sunday, and the guy that was running the shop said that it can be worse on the weekend. Loved that they had some Art books for people to look into if they really wanted to be inspired and artys, plus stencils so you can mark you piece with whatever design strikes your fancy. Also will allow you to come back and finish your piece at a later date, if you aren't at a stopping point when they are about to close. You pay for your piece, and take it with you and then come back to finish the artsy part and have it fired. read more

This is a nice location and everyone is nice and polite but the Mille girl. I've been to this location a few times and each time, she has given a bad vibe/attitude. When I walked in recently, after not going for over 6 months, I remembered her face and was instantly disappointed. The whole 2 hours we were there, she sat in the back on her phone.. while the young lady helped everyone out. She didn't help clean or anything. We drive over 45 mins to come to this location and she makes us want to drive 50+, to the marietta location. My cup was damaged, after leaving it with her and now she's denying the damages, I took before pictures(TO SHOW WHEN. I PICK IT UP).. she requests pictures from a different angle, I didn't expect my cup to be picked up with red spots on it ..... I like this place, but her? Pls find someone more professional and nice to the customers.. I mean we are paying to come here, the money we use is what pays the workers.. have a little more respect and be more humble. read more

Now that I picked up my piece after it has been fired I must modify my review. Three hours I spent carefully painting my piece. When I picked it up it has little red paint splatters on it. Which obviously cannot be removed since it's been fired. I pointed it out to the girl working and she told me I must have done it. No. I didn't. If I was meticulous enough to paint freehand a very detailed piece why would I turn it it with splatters on it the could easily be removed before firing!? Not to mention I took a picture of it right before I handed it over for firing. (See photos of before. After. And splatter close up). I visited the store with my two young grandsons today to paint some pottery for Christmas. When we walked in we were completely ignored and no one came to explain the process Having never been here before I had to chase down one of the young women in the store to ask what to do. We were pointed to table and told it's self serve. I had purchased a gift certificate online which they were unable to locate. There wasn't anyone there who could tell me how or to whom I should speak to retrieve my gift certificate. I had to pay for the visit in full. Needless to say I will not be going back. We had a girl's night out last Saturday at this location for a friend's b-day. We are all in our late 30s, early 40s and we still had an amazing time. We originally wanted to do the glass, but I guess they no longer offer it so we went with clay, creating our own plates/trays. I'm not very artsy but I had a lot of fun thinking of ways to create something fun to take home. We probably spent around 2.5 hours there creating our pieces and we were even allowed to bring wine for a beverage. We started out around 6pm and there were only 2 other people there. By 8pm, that place was packed. It had to have been 25 of us in there easily...and it's not a big place. Rachel, unfortunately was the only employee left there that night and somehow she still managed to help us a LOT! She was so patient and knowledgeable..and really hands on with helping my friends execute their ideas on clay. Luckily, the other people there were low maintenance and self sufficient, but that could have ended very badly had they not been. Rachel gets 5 stars alone for being so helpful and sane. Lol. Never once did she seem overwhelmed by the sudden onset of customers, but it shouldn't have to be this way! It actually made us a little nervous that she was alone in general at night. I say, just give Rachel a promotion for her ability to multitask and hire some help to mitigate this happening in the future. Being that paint doesn't take well to fresh clay we are going back in 2 weeks to finish our creations. One clay piece ran $26 including tax, but I'm not sure exactly how they price things...I just paid. But the experience was worth it. The amount seemed reasonable. Last but not least, there is parking in the back of the building. You may see valet...which I did...but they ask where you are headed when you pull in. They advised me that one row behind the building was actually reserved for All Fired Up, and they let me park myself for free. So make sure you don't pay for valet because you don't have to. read more

I took my daughter and her friend here to paint pottery for some birthday weekend fun! We had a really good time! :) I will warn you tho, this is not a quiet place. It's quite loud actually. Also, they seemed to have a Zoey deschanel cd on repeat which after about 6 plays started to feel like Chinese torture!! Ha!! Picked up my mug and it had other colors on it..tons of specs. They also didn't fully dip my mug in the clear coat. Because of that I will not be able to drink from it unless I take it back to get it dipped and retired. We live an hour from this place and doing that would be terribly inconvenient.
