My family was beyond happy with this experience! Who have guessed such a wholesome fun business would be nestled in the historic downtown Conyers district. You pick out a piece of pottery and paint it and then they glaze it and it's ready about a week later. Bonus, they are able to ship it for people out of state for only $10! I can't wait to get my cute little evil eye mug that I painted. The people that work there were friendly and helpful and did not rush us at all And I felt like we were there for a really long time. It was so nice to see families and people from all walks of life there having a good time together. Great date, night, activity or activity with your family or a group of friends. I have done LOTS of paint and sip type events and nothing compares to the experience I had here! First off...you can paint a canvas in one of 3 sizes or you can choose any of a number of ceramic items to paint! I love that they will sketch what you want to paint either on the canvas OR the ceramic item. Andrew and Jennifer greeted my friends and me and helped us through our painting and indecision and just everything! There was a party happening in the next room but we still received personalized attention while there. I loved it here! It felt like home! There are so many options for creativity and I foresee many...MANY days here. Andrew, Jennifer and Skylar made my first visit memorable. Located in Conyers this cute spot has great parking and a nice location. I was invited to a birthday gathering/ sip and paint. This place has all sorts of very creative paintings displayed on their walls and you just choose the painting you like. You don't have to choose a canvas they offer other creative materials you can use as well. We had our own painting area since it was about 10 of us. I chose a canvas. So the painting I decided on was then pre-sketched for me and I decided on the colors. Which was good for me because I wasn't sure on how good I would be drawing myself lol. The young lady assisting us was very helpful with getting colors we requested and offering different techniques like creating a shadow. This was a great experience. TWICE! Came here with mom for GNO. We painted wine glasses and welcome signs for our front entryways. The studio itself very charming with lots of character, There is artwork throughout the studio and lots of seating. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and patient ( mom and I aren't naturally crafty). There were a number of other patrons in there having private lessons and a small painting party- The overall feeling was festive and cheerful. The sketching pads customer service is top notch. All the artists that my family and I have worked with have been very nice and encouraging. My 7 year old daughter has been taking art here for almost a year and Laura is so very patient with her. The studio space is very comfortable and inspirational. They highly recommend adults to bring a favorite beverage to sip while painting. read more

I love this place. I totally feel like I'm sitting at a live version of a Bob Ross where the teachers explain the painting and show the example. Although ours don't turn out quite the same, I totally have enjoyed the experience. I see a date night with my wife in the near future. read more

The Sketching Pad has been a marvelous experience for my son! He began drawing classes last January and has blossomed with his art work! He was so excited to have his drawings "shown" at the Conyers art show as well as having his art as part of their book! Jay was having so much fun and learning so much, he wanted to draw at home with me. I caught the painting bug and started going to the adult classes. Its been wonderful. The Sketching Pad is not just a place for lessons it is an experience for the whole family. My daughter has been with the studio for just over a year and she has indeed grown as an artist; but, more importantly, she has gotten to use her gifts and talents in service for others. She has been constantly encouraged; she has been valued as a part of the studio and not just an enrollment number. Jennifer Baker has done a fabulous job of knowing her students and "meeting them where they are" to bring them out of their shells and instill confidence. Her patience and sweet spirit are a large part of The Sketching Pad success and appeal. Furthering the experience is the teaching of Orin Morris; he amazes both students and parents with his talent and patience. I am so thankful for this establishment and excited to see the artist in her (my daughter) blossom. I am also blessed by the comfort and security that we both experience as members of The Sketching Pad family. We do not worry about the content or conduct when she enters the studio doors - we look forward to each project and each opportunity. I highly recommend the studio, the staff, and the artistic opportunity. As a matter of fact, we have been so excited that not only have we participated in many "extra" events and workshops but we've added a 2nd weekly class with an additional artistic concentration to our schedule. Taking all of the awesome factors into consideration you could expect a high monthly tuition; but you won't find it here - they have worked very hard to give as many as possible the opportunity to embrace their inner artist.
