The staff is super helpful, and of course the fabric is beyond affordable -- usually $4 a yard or less. Last week I saw 54" wide rolls of block-printed African prints that would have cost oodles in a higher-end store. For $5 a yard. This is the place to go if you are willing to hunt, and if you don't confuse bare-bones displays for a lack of quality. There is always something different, as well, but make sure that you get enough of what you need, because most of the rolls are discontinued / remnants, and you likely won't find that roll again. Fabric World used to have more apparel fabrics, jumbled onto huge tables. During the first year of the pandemic I picked up serious quality cotton - -Robert Kaufmann -- for $3/yard. They aren't carrying the quilting cotton remnants any longer, unfortunately, and the cotton on bolts doesn't feel nearly as high quality. It's also oriented more towards kids' prints. If you are making clothes for rapidly growing kids, though, it's exactly what you'd need! There are a few tables of apparel fabrics left. I've gotten quality linen there, though the bulk is rayon / polyester / viscose / stretch fabrics. If you love fabrics and want to hunt ... this is your place! (Not to mention easy-peasy parking.)

On their website there is no mention that they have evidently changed ownership and the fabric they claim they have is an afterthought there is a better selection of fabric at hobby lobby and Walmart and looks like leftovers from somewhere that couldn't sell these bolts. They still have a lot of rugs but I didn't check prices on those, they had outdoor patio furniture a poor selection of bedding and pillows. Unless you are looking for rugs or small patio sets it's a complete waste of time if you are looking for fabric. I was sent to 2 separate locations in the store and found only pattern tracing paper! An entire half of the store is devoted to sewing and they don't have any sort of drafting paper? One young girl (thin with long black hair) walked right past- I asked her if she could help me. She kept walking said "I will be right back". I finally left the cutting table (which was not nearly big enough for them to cut fabrics) to look for someone to help me. I found sweet Imani who immediately came to cut my fabric after she finished with her current customer. (The young thin girl finally returned and walked right past us as Imani was cutting my fabric - she never said a word to me after being gone for a long time. I will shop elsewhere for fabric - next time I go to Joanne's! I won't make this mistake ever again.

However, Erick, a young gentlemen (cashier) welcomed me near the entrance and immediately asked if I needed assistance. He directed me to the aisle I needed and then I headed to the next aisle where Daniel (floor staff) came over and asked if I needed assistance. Not only did Daniel assist, but he gave me tips on the baskets best suited for my gift idea and encouraged me to pick out a few for the future; and I did just that. At check out Erick asked if I found what I needed and when I shared that I had not, he checked in to see if stock may have had the item. I haven't had such great customer service in a Michaels location (or other stores actually)in years! I was thoroughly impressed and had to pause to share my gratitude before I forget.
