Was looking for 1930's Reproduction fabric in the Atlanta Area. This store did not disappoint at all. Yes like others have mentioned it's pretty packed. But I asked the owner where the style of fabrics would be, she told me. I found so so so many fabrics by many designers Moda, Nana Mae, the list goes on. They even had a March Madness sale 30% off. Since I'm doing a 1930's Farmers Wife Quilt. I needed to get multiple prints. Line moved fast. There was absolutely no huffing and puffing at how many bolts of fabric I had, or even just getting 1/4-1 yard cuts. Service was extremely pleasant. It was a one woman show. The owner had that line moving so quick. I enjoyed my conversation with her while she cut my fabrics, and also with the other customers. Will definitely be back again! read more

This was one of the coolest fabric stores I have been in! OK yes it was a bit pricey, but I can't blame a business for making money! And it wasn't so outrageous that I didn't make a small purchase myself LOL. Back to the fabrics! There was literally a pattern in there for any project! Sure there was a couple of bolts that you could get at any box store, but I would definitely say 90% of the fabrics were beautiful pieces! The patterns, the colors, the presentation of each bolt had your imagination running wild. I really enjoyed shopping in there, the guy that was helping me get bolts and stuff was one of the nicest guys ever! Heck I even have a receipt do use and get 10% off in the next week which I am totally going to use! I don't think I've ever been in Thread Bear when I couldn't find exactly what I needed, and the prices are much better than at other quilt stores. If I'm taking a class and need a practice fabric, the "box" store is fine, but not for something I'm going to share. It can be a little overwhelming if you are a touch claustrophobic, but know that you will find what you need in there. read more

They have a great selection of fabric, but I won't go back. You can't walk in the store. Boxes are everywhere and stuff is piled up all over. It is impossible to find anything and if you do find something, you can't get to it. I saw a woman almost fall trying to get thread. I love the inventory but the mess makes it too stressful to shop there. I go to quilt shops to relax. This store is not relaxing at all. read more

LOVE this store. Just found last night and I couldn't be more excited. I've driven by store several times (across from Zaxby's/next to Anytime Fitness) but never really knew what it was as it's not really easy to see signage. Decided to drive up for a closer look last night and was thrilled to find it was a fabric store! I usually drive out to Roswell or Alpharetta because I'm not satisfied w/the small selections of fabric in the few stores that carry it in Cumming. Went inside and was hooked immediately! Tons of fabric in every print, color, etc. imaginable. Prices were fair, quality was great and the owners were very nice. Looking forward to going back and love that it's so close to home. read more

It takes a fairly decent amount of awkwardness to make me uncomfortable and I'm not usually one to instantly feel negative about things. Although the selection of fabric was excellent, the people were not. Upon walking in one of the staff members gave me an incredibly dirty look and continued to stare at me while walking through, not once offering help, I was friendly and smiled. It also felt incredibly claustrophobic and unorganized. I would probably go here if I needed a specific pattern or look, but I would check at joann first... I hate it when mom and pop stores are like that as they are always my first preference! read more

In the spirit of full disclosure, I don't know how to sew. My mom however is a phenomenal seamtress and she loves this place. I have been in a lot of fabric stores with her and can safely say Thread Bear has great selection. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The store always look clean and well organized. You do have to know exactly where it is located though because there is no big sign on the building. read more

The only reason I am giving this store 3 stars is for their inventory. Tons of different fabrics which is great! But the customer service was not great by any means. The blonde lady was friendly. But the other older brunette lady was so rude. We had no where to lay our options out and then she asked us to move because she was doing an order. Then when we decided she abruptly asked "you need something cut?" As if we weren't purchasing. If we hadn't traveled as far as we did we would have walked out with nothing. read more

The fabric selection of high quality fabric is incredible. I would rather buy good fabric from a good shop that risk fabrics that may be of lesser quality at big chain stores. Other than fabric and thread, the selection is not good. But this is a good business model since these basic items are available at a multitude of places. Needles, hoops, thimbles, other items take space away from gorgeous fabric and there are a variety of on-line sources. The owners are wonderful read more

There is plenty of fabric to choose from in this store, however, good luck finding what you need. I notice that prior reviews are very dated. Go in the store now and see what you think. The owners, though very friendly, have a very hard time with the concept of respect for their customers. Respect for customers means having a clean, organized store, and making it easy to shop and check out. All of these concepts are missing at this place. My biggest complaint (among many) is that the only place to pay for your items is at the cutting table, waiting in line behind customers who need fabric cut. I had some precut fabric and had to wait a long time while the ladies in front of me had bolts and bolts of fabric that needed cutting. There was no getting out of there quickly. Also, It's amazing how much stuff is stacked everywhere to create that real junk store look. I go here only when I am desperate. read more

I called them for help with an online order. The young man that helped me out was super friendly! I actually ended up ordering the wrong colors(my fault) so I called and asked if I sent samples of the fabric that I was looking for if they would match it physically. They said absolutely and would call me when they get it! Great customer service! Four stars only because I've never actually been to the store. read more
