And no one seems to be actual be open during the hours they say they are going to be open. Must I drive to 'the city' to get what I'm looking for????!!!! This is why ITP'ers make fun of OTP'ers and talk trash about us. I drove here on Sunday as well - and they had a paper sign on the door saying they were closed for Father's Day. I was actually already in the area (see Fabric & Fringe review) but this is actually the third time I've tried to visit this store since they've moved - and each time the store has been closed even though the hours posted on the door and vmail greeting would have you believe otherwise. Also - all the lights are on - they're tube fluorescent lights - but so what? Stop wasting energy people. ANd I'm going to stop wasting my energy driving to your store to try to give you business.

The staff is always pleasant to deal with as well. Shirley is one of my favorite sales people there. She always has creative ideas. Their new space on Canton Rd. is laid out well and very bright, so you can see what you are buying. I would recommend this place to anybody who is looking to redecorate!

They also sell sewing machines, and they seem to offer different types of sewing classes. There is also a selection of materials for sale. While I was waiting for my turn, a gentleman came to pick up his machine, and he seemed very happy. I did ask the sales lady, how much it did cost and the price seemed reasonable. Of course, every service price is based on the additional parts and labor needed. So, I will definitely give it a try. Seems like it will take few weeks to get your sewing machine back, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Melissa has added more material than they had before. I was always disappointed by the selection of batiks, but since Melissa has come on board she has added so many more colors. I have shopped at quilt stores in Florida and all they offer is Florida tropical so for me this store has a very broad selection of material and not stuck in one particular pattern or style. I have done Block of the Month, Saturday Sampler and other projects and I have been extremely pleased with the end product. Linda is very helpful when you have questions on your Saturday Sampler. Their classes are very good and I enjoy all the employees at the store. They are always helpful. Do not be deterred by the other reviews. This is the place to go when you need material or help with picking material for a quilt you are working on. The prices are the same as other quilt stores but the sale room I can always find a bargain.

Bob's Upholstery has been my go-to place for fabric, fringe and upholstery services for over a…read moredecade, and not once have I ever been disappointed. I can be pretty picky, and since sewing and upholstery have been a hobby for decades, I know the difference in excellent quality materials and workmanship versus so-so. (Do not confuse them with Bob's Furniture, as they are a complete different business with no connection to Bob's Upholstery.) This is a three generation business, which was started in Marietta in 1960, and their experience and dedication to their customers is evident. Shawna and her sister and daughter have always been delightful and helpful, and kind enough to fix some things that I goofed up (or purchased poor quality at a place a few doors down from their location). They never cut corners on quality, zippers on cushions and pillows are perfectly completed, and they never over or under stuff. You will definitely see the quality here. I've seen them be extremely patient and courteous with less than delightful customers, so that makes my shopping experience more pleasant. I have recommended them to at least six friends who are also happy with their services and products, and one friend drives over from Alpharetta every time she needs something. Bob's Upholstery is moving in a few months so they need to reduce inventory, so now is the time to snag some great bargains!
