I visited this place to find fabric and perhaps have a sofa made. My first couple of trips found me musing over the vast array of gorgeous fabrics making it difficult to decide. That's where Ashley and Josh came to my rescue. They both were so patient and allowed me to spend as much uninterrupted time trying fabrics, getting swatches etc as needed. Ashley contributed her inspiration as well as design and practical knowledge making the process easier for me. Josh cheerfully helped with all my requests. When one piece turn out a little different from the original order, no problem; Ashley had it corrected with no hesitation. I was looking for a uniqe drapery fabric and a friend told me about Lewis & Sheron. It's a very nice experience because as soon as you walk in you are invited to take 10 samples complimentary and they samples are beautifully displayed so makes it nice to arrange your design boards. They have a wide variety of in stock and custom order fabrics. I was impressed. Also, at first I was disappointed the luxury fabrics were priced out of my budget but as I looked around, I found there were more affordable fabrics. I want to give a special shout out to Denise who took a special interest in my dilema of finding a unique pattern and sheen. She went out of her way to understand my challenge and she offered great alternatives. She was incredibly knowledgeable of their inventory. I was absolutely blown away by my experience at Lewis & Sheron , working with Ashley Fricton. I had no idea that I could walk in there, choose fabrics and order upholstered beds with ease. I started with a picture. I loved it. It was colorful an just made me happy. So, I decided to redo my dining/office area using the colors in the picture as my base. I was hesitant because the colors were bolder than anything in my home. Enter, Ashley Fricton. She eased my fear of vibrant colors and walked me through the entire process. I just purchased a new home an wanted custom Drapery and to reupholster my headboard and sectional. I found Lewis and Sheron after searching textile and upholstery stores in Atlanta. When I walked into the showroom I was amazed how beautiful it was and their layout was like no other. Their fabric samples were precut so it was easy to layout my fabric choices on the large tables throughout the showroom. I was surprised that they have a complimentary designer. Not only do they provide custom services they have candles, pillows, rugs, furniture and more that you can buy off the floor. The entire staff was so helpful. I left that morning with fabric samples and came back that afternoon with a custom drapery/pillow/shower curtain order for master bedroom. I also got my sectional reupholstered with the most beautiful Belgian fabric I've ever seen. The plus is they offer pickup and drop services. I just visited this shop for the first time. There's a white lady working at the counter who was wearing a cloth hairband and had her wrist in a support bandage. As soon as we approached her for a question, she directed us to the black people working there to get help from them. The customer behind us was white and this lady started working with her. This store representative later dared to tell me something. They have candy bowls throughout the store with different flavored wrapped candies. I was taking a candy of a particular flavor out of one of the bowls and she told me that I need to take the one I touch and not to touch the others because of Covid. Then she dared to ask me "Do I understand?" If you are not white, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. Although they have some black folks working here who are really helpful, the white staff is genuinely racist. read more

I love this place. It is so easy to shop here. Fabrics are well organized and displayed by colors. There is a large selection of fabric on bolts available for immediate purchase. My favorite area is the very well organized remnants area. Even this area is color coordinated with fabrics hung in a way that makes it easy to shop. I bought a fabric from this section today that i paid $15 a yard for. In the area where you order fabrics, it could be ordered for $45 a yard. Needless to say, I was super excited. In the back area are fabrics that can be ordered. The selection here is amazing. Another close by fabric store charges $15 to order fabric but that is not the case here. I purchased three fabrics today that had to be ordered. It was super easy and quick. I was told they will be here in about two weeks. The customer service here is phenomenal. Employees are more than willing to help you but they are not pushy. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. The feeling is very upbeat in how everyone here interacts with you. They make you feel very welcome. If you are looking for a great selection of fabrics with wonderful staff available to help you, this is the right place to go. They are moving to a different location in early August so they have a super sale going on right now. Especially on trimmings. There is an entire area that is 75% off. The remnants area also had all fabrics for $10 a yard and if you bought two of the remnants you got a third one for free. My kind of deal. Before you leave the store, make sure you ask for a postcard for the new location. There is a 10% off coupon on the card. I cannot wait to see the new place. read more

Growing up with an interior designer mom, fabric stores feel like home to me. I love wandering down the corridors of bolted fabric, running my fingers along their threads, taking in the various explosions of color. Now that I've got my own place, I don't just have to look and leave everything behind. And I'm old enough to cut my own samples! Lewis & Sheron has become my most favorite of all of the ATL fabric stores, as they truly have a little bit of everything. Price ranges from $10/yard to $100 plus, so I can shop alongside my mom with her ritzy clients, no problem. Unfortunately I usually fall in love with the expensive stuff, but that's my own problem. My style is the definition of eclectic, and they have everything from the basic grays I want for my couch to crazy prints for pillows and chairs. They have a large remnant room if you're looking for a deal and the trim area makes me want to put trim on everything I own. Service is super friendly as well. Extra bonus points for their easy to navigate and well organized website. You can actually order products online, which is a huge benefit for people like me who wait to get a thousand samples home to make the decision, and then don't feel like going back to the store to actually order. read more

Terrible customer service and poor communication. I ordered fabric for a project a few weeks before they shut down to move warehouses (08/16). There was no language on the website stating my order would be delayed in being fulfilled and my order was processed as normal. A few days later I called and spoke to an extremely rude woman who informed me that my order would not be ready until after the move on Sept 2. Great. Fast forward to Sept 5. Called and spoke to the same unbelievably rude woman who said "we call when orders are ready for pick-up. And I'm with a customer right now, so I'll have to call you back." I am a customer and I'd just like for someone (preferably not you) to take my order # and let me know when I can pick up my fabric..."I have a customer standing right in front of me right now so I can't help you." Not holding my breath for a call back and completely shocked to be treated so poorly. Beware, if you order anything through their website you are not a customer....you are an annoyance. You will not be called back or treated with respect. read more

There were about five or six employees either walking around or sitting behind the desk. NO MASKS ANYWHERE!! I left immediately when I realized that. It's a pandemic and it's the law. I just adore Lewis and Sheron. Atlanta has a wealth of interior design resources, and this is one of the best. Given that I'm a fabric-a-holic and have visited most every fabric store in metro Atlanta, that says a lot! I've purchased loads of fabric here; all at prices much better than I've seen elsewhere. Granted, they have some very expensive fabrics, including the embroidered silk which cost $50+ per yard. Sadly, that's too pricey for my wallet. But if your heart is set on silk, they have plainer silk fabric that's less expensive. Since most of us can't afford much silk, there's plenty of more practical fabric outside the silk room. I haven't been to L&S for nearly a year (time for a visit!) but last time I was there, most of the medium-weight fabrics were the $13-$20/yard range. Heavier weight upholstery fabrics are in the $25-$50/yard range, and there's a good selection at the lower end of that spectrum. Considering that you'll be investing a lot of expensive labor turning that fabric into window treatments or upholstery and that you'll be living with the results of your purchase for a long time, I don't think the prices are too high. You might find slightly less expensive fabric at Joann's or Hancock's, but I've never found anything as pretty there. Usually, there will be sale-priced fabrics mixed in with the regularly priced stuff, so keep your eye out. I've always found the service to be fine. There are scissors available at the front door that you can use to cut samples, as well as adhesive stickers for writing down the stock number, price and other info about the fabric. I've received knowledgeable answers from the staff whenever I've asked. L&S also has a huge selection of fringes and trims, lining/interlining and other drapery making supplies, indoor/outdoor fabric, etc. The only negative thing I can say is that I really miss their old bargain basement, where they had a whole room filled with sale-priced stuff. Those were the days. I bought so much gorgeous closeout fabric there for $5-$10 yard--50% to 75% off. Alas, they closed that room a few years ago; last time I checked, it was filled with rugs. Does Atlanta REALLY need another rug store? I think not! Other than that, though, it's all good. For some of us, browsing the aisles is as much fun as chocolate. But you needn't be a fabric connoisseur to justify a visit. To me, it's a good choice for decorating supplies for most every budget. read more

I first came to Lewis ans Sheron about 6 years ago when I was looking for some fancy silk to be a sash for my wedding dress. While the parking lot seemed small and the neighborhood isn't great, the space itself is impressive. The whole place is big and bright with lots of light for you to see all the amazing fabrics. The are designer decorator fabrics - not clothing fabrics. I really appreciate that the sample area, where you check out samples rather than cutting them, is so bright and well-organized! It makes looking for what you want so easy. I'm definitely not a designer myself, but I do feel inspired to conquer some projects after being here. The prices are reasonable considering the quality. Several of the fabrics overlap with other fabric stores on the street, but it's definitely worth going to all to see the different lines. I recently went back when decorating my own space, and then again when helping a friend pick nursery fabrics. I'd never even made it to the trim room on previous visits or to the Staceage showroom at the back of the top floor. And there's a rug shop at the back. And lots of pieces of furniture ready to be upholstered. Definitely check it out when you're looking to spruce up your digs. read more
