This used to be such a staple. An Atlanta institution. I grew up with an interior designer mom so I…read morespent a lot of time here as a child (the old location). AS an adult I have spent far less time, but I recently moved out of state and we have nothing like this in my new area so I was looking forward to my stop here on a recent visit to collect swatches for the many projects I have planed for or new house. Wow is it different. First and most clearly it's a much smaller footprint. Many of the options have been reduced to sample books that you cannot take a sample of yourself to see in our space and lighting. How is this helpful? They used to have scissors, labels and pencils at every bay so that you could take distinctive notes for each sample you got. Not anymore. I had to take a photo of the swatch with label and sku and try to get a bit of the roll in to get a larger look at the sample. By the tome I got them all home I had no idea what each was or how to reference it. So the entire visit ended up was a wast of my time and energy and frankly, their resources. The samples are all precut (and tiny). So if you want a swatch f a print or embroidered material good luck getting a clear swatch with all the colors and/or details in it. They also were out of a lot of of the swatches. I mentioned they are precut now?...well if you are going to do that then you need to make sure that you are keeping them stocked regularly. I would say about half of what I wanted a swatch of, I had to walk to the front, ask a staff member to get up from her work, walk back with me and find what I was looking at, and cut me a swatch because they aren't checking it regularly. This is such a waste of my time and theirs (staff seemed to also be annoyed at this and my constant asking them to stop what they were doing to walk around the store to cut a single swatch) and never used to be an issue under the old system. They have also taken a huge portion of the space for cheep furniture. Think like Homegoods level stuff. Nothing special or particularly interesting. It is all very inexpensive (and it looks it-it all looked kind of junky) but like why? They significantly downgraded the footprint of the store and used a huge portion of the smaller space...for this? What is the purpose when you could use that space to being back some of the rolls of actual material? They did not have a lot of patterns & prints, embroidered materials, beaded fabrics, or anything really textural or interesting. They used to have so much diversity and what was there was mostly variations of plain textiles or really "southern" feeling prints...So it just lost a lot of what used to make this place so good. While chatting with staff I found out that the store was sold some years ago which seems to be the root of the issue. So if the owners or management see this, please for the love of all that is holy go back to the old systems because this isn't working. I can understand making changes and economizing but the way they have done this isn't positive, especially as your prices have gone way up and your offerings have deteriorated so dramatically. I was just window shopping (with the intent to place a large order for shipment) and if this is the new experience to get swatches to consider, I can't imagine the ordering process would be any less frustrating. It just making a much more frustrating experience for you customer. If I had never been here prior to this experience I wouldn't be returning. I hope it is a one off, but after seeing some other recent reviews, it seems to be the new normal. Shame on the new owners.

Poor management and service. New owners have ruined the…read moregreat experiences of the past.

I was looking for a uniqe drapery fabric and a friend told me about Lewis & Sheron. It's a very…read morenice experience because as soon as you walk in you are invited to take 10 samples complimentary and they samples are beautifully displayed so makes it nice to arrange your design boards. They have a wide variety of in stock and custom order fabrics. I was impressed. Also, at first I was disappointed the luxury fabrics were priced out of my budget but as I looked around, I found there were more affordable fabrics. I want to give a special shout out to Denise who took a special interest in my dilema of finding a unique pattern and sheen. She went out of her way to understand my challenge and she offered great alternatives. She was incredibly knowledgeable of their inventory. I will definitely be returning as my project continues to evolve.

That's where Ashley and Josh came to my rescue. They both were so patient and allowed me to spend as much uninterrupted time trying fabrics, getting swatches etc as needed. Ashley contributed her inspiration as well as design and practical knowledge making the process easier for me. Josh cheerfully helped with all my requests. When one piece turn out a little different from the original order, no problem; Ashley had it corrected with no hesitation. I can't say enough about Lewis & Sheron and their excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

I love shopping at Indie Craft Experience - not only b/c it supports local businesses and…read moreindividuals, but also the great selection of creative handcrafted goods. I overheard a guy say "it's like Pinterest except not on the computer screen." The event is held over a weekend at the Ambient + Studio warehouse, and there were probably close to 100 different booths -- plus they had a few food vendors like King of Pops and Good Food Truck, and the fabulous LeahandMark.com photo booth :) I think this was the 3rd time I've gone to ICE. I got a few things this year: - Magic Unicorn Sea Salt from "Beautiful Briny Sea Salt" - after taste testing a few different flavors (e.g., Lavender, Rosemary, and Truffle), my favorite was Magic Unicorn. Haha, suspicious name but honest ingredients - pure ocean salt, celery seed, rosemary, granulated garlic, smoked paprika, and lemon juice powder. I also liked their Truffle Sea Salt. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Beautiful-Briny-Sea/157240431005788 - Port Wine Caramel from "Sweeteeth" - I'd never tasted such good caramel like theirs ... I went w/ the port wine b/c I liked the the smoky "brulee" type flavor and it also tasted kinda chocolately even though there's no chocolate. Can't wait to use the sauce on apples, ice cream, pies, cakes, and more ... just don't tell my doctor. http://www.sweeteethchocolate.com - Cute bonnet and bib from "Owlette Collective" - some lucky baby's going to get this super cute set. I couldn't resist. http://www.etsy.com/shop/owlettecollective - Goat Milk and Lavender Oatmeal Soap from "Belle Terre" - smelled several of their soaps and this one was my favorite. First I love anything lavender, I'd never heard of goat milk used in soap (and the lady said they are sourced from happy goats who are well-treated), plus the oatmeal is supposed to be a good exfoliator :) I need to hurry and finish up my Ivory. http://belleterrenc.com/home/welcome/ What I didn't get but really liked (and may get later): - Red Fascinator Hat from "LaCocoRouge" - they had a great selection of fun mini-hats that looked like something Carrie Bradshaw would wear ... or anyone attending a Royal Wedding. I just need to find an occasion to wear them :) http://www.etsy.com/shop/lacocorouge Definitely worth a visit, esp. if you love "unique" items :) Oh and they always have great jewelry. Last year, I got one of my favorite necklaces from "Katherine Smith Jewelry" that always gets many compliments. http://www.etsy.com/shop/ksmithjewelry FYI - there's $5 admission to get in.

This was a great curated, batch of designers and crafter. I purchased several items. Looking…read moreforward to my next visit.
