They are very professional and pleasant. Chairs were done quickly and I have found no flaws. Reasonable price to rereupholster 6 dining chairs. I highly recommend. Fabric prices are reasonable as well.

I love that everyone was wearing masks and keeping safe distance. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I got to shop for my client's wedding, finding just the right sheer to create a base for the greeenery and florals on the farm tables. The price sas a huge win for their budget.

Took two much loved chairs to Fabric Joint for reupholstery. Purchased fabric at the store. Extremely reasonable and nice workmanship would recommend

My beautiful recovered dinette chairs. I purchased the set on Craigs list for $50.

This is where you want to buy your fabric. The selection and price is amazing. But above and beyond that, the customer service is wonderful and shall I say old school. John the owner not only walked me through how to recover my own chairs but he explained everything I would need and even showed me which staple gun was best from Amazon. Truth be told. I chickened out after stripping them down and brought them back to Fabric Joint to be covered. But I did restrain the chairs and table myself. I'm big on ecology and repurposing. So this is the place for me. Many thanks.

Huge selection of fabric at great prices. Be prepared to move heavy bolts of fabric, though! Staff was professional.

Best and cheapest fabric store. Closest thing you can find to a fabric warehouse, especially for upholstery. This place is a god send

Tess World Designs is a new shop in Decatur dedicated to African fabric and accessories. Due to…read moretheir success on Etsy, they recently made the leap to brick and mortar. They're located in the downtown shopping district, about a five minute walk from the Decatur MARTA Station. The bold patterns and pops of color in the window caught my eye as I was driving down E. Ponce de Leon. I circled back, parked on the street and went inside to explore. They have a variety of merchandise: African print fabrics Masks and wood pieces Woven bowls Jewelry Purses, backpacks and sandals Wraps and scarves Kente and Greek graduation stoles A few racks are filled with ready-made men's and women's clothing but fabric is really their forte. Hundreds of beautiful swatches line the walls. Most prints are $7 a yard but the silks go for $12.50 a yard. Since I haven't ticked "learn to sew" off my bucket list yet, I felt in over my head looking at all that cloth. Fortunately, they have contact info for seamstresses so once I have a pattern I can choose the fabric and get something made. It might make sense for them to sell patterns but since they don't I'll need to find one elsewhere. Anyway, I left with a cowrie shell necklace for the boy and two pieces of jewelry for myself. I loved several of their fabrics and hope to be back for one soon. Tess World Designs is a great addition to the Decatur shopping district.

I was visiting ATL for the weekend and wanted to visit some yarn stores so the Craftivist came up in my research. I saw that they host events for people to come in and work on their fiber arts a few times a week so this sold me on visiting! When I stopped in, I was greeted and there was space for me to sit down. I even got some help on my project. It was so nice to be community with people who love the fiber arts for a little while. I look forward to supporting their business since they also ship!

I recently had a private knitting lesson here…read more The instructor begin with telling me the different types of forms yarn comes in, ie. hanks, skeins and balls along with other information about knitting. After the introduction the instructor picked out a wood circular knitting needle for me. The reason for choosing the wood I was told it would help hold the yarn better for a beginner versus a metal needle. When it came time to choose the yarn I was told to make my choice from a small area. I picked a mustard yarn. The next day I received an invoice from the store because I didn't pay for the items. Silly me. I assumed because I was only allowed to pick out from a certain section that it was included with the lesson that I had paid for. Unfortunately, because the yarn I chose was quite small. It has been difficult as a beginner working with it. There have been a lot of starts and stops which I would expect but more so because of the size of the yarn. I have since learned as a beginner I should have a bulkier yarn. When I left that day, I had not gotten the hang of the cast on, or the knit stitch. Five minutes before the class was to end we had just finished casting on and that didn't leave much time for the knitting since the store was opening. Since taking the class I have been able to get the hang of the cast on and the knit stitch thanks to Sheep and Stitch on YouTube. I think the reason I didn't get the hang of it in the store was because of the teaching style. It just didn't mesh with my learning style. I would definitely recommend the classes to anyone here. Very professional staff. Because the yarn I ended up purchasing isn't good for beginners. I did call the store to see if I could exchange it, but I was told they would not accept it because it had already been wound. The staff was very nice. They were very helpful when customers came in.
