I had a conversation with them about reupholstering a sofa. The person asked me to send a photograph, which would be used to give me a quote. I sent the photos. After a couple of weeks, I re-sent the email, with the photos. Not having read the Yelp reviews, but having a neighbor recommend them, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe someone accidentally deleted the email. Maybe they weren't really good at technology and record keeping. I never heard back again. So I can't rate the quality of their work, since they didn't do anything. I can only judge them a company that I wouldn't do business with because they are so poor at following up. The other reviews confirm this and that someone who works there makes mistakes, excuses and overcharges, and they never try to resolve issues, whether it's their fault or not. I'd rather donate my sofa to a new immigrant and buy a new one. read more

I got a new phone so I was looking up F&G's phone number and perused the reviews on a whim. I was shocked to see any bad reviews at all based on the experience that I have had on numerous occasions. The pictured items have all been reupholstered by Holger and I am not denying the experience of others but it is polar opposite of mine. Never once have I experienced rude service or lengthy delays....but if something was delayed my perspective was that it's a first world problem. As a highlight I have however received really great pricing for their service!! I would suggest to others that if you are looking for some posh experience and want to pay 4 times the price - go somewhere else. read more

This is the worst upholster in Atlanta. No one knows who is on first, they tell you they booked an appointment then cannot find it. I booked an appointment for a home call, was quoted price and told the date. When I called day before to confirm, no one knew anything about it. I had to take off work for this appointment. The man on the phone "Ken" was totally negative, never once did he say were sorry for the confusion. All he could state and restate was we offer no guarantees bring it in. Offered no excuses. This is the worst upholstery experience I've ever had. First they had 2 projects and confused the.material that was no longer available and put it on the wrong thing. Secondly, they were to create cushion for a chaise lounge. It was not the right shape or cut. I had him leave it at my house because I was having a party but he asssured me it would be fixed. Then he would not answer the phone.when he finally answered the phone he said I accepted it as is. I came to pick up what was left and they broke my furniture. If Ocould give 0 stars I would. I am giving two stars because the upholstery itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service was the worst I've ever had. Based on other reviews, I expect this jerk to blame me for this, but I'm posting it here to warn others. At no point did I swear or threaten. In fact, if he had not really screwed up so badly at the end, I would not have posted a review at all because I'm not vindictive. Here was our journey: We select a fabric and they tell us it will be 2-3 weeks. No one ever calls. I call in 3 weeks and he says, "Oh, the fabric turned out to be out of stock and it won't come for 60-90 days. We finally decide to pick up our cushions so we have some place to sit, and wait for the fabric to come in. I let him know I'm going to do this. The next day, I go up to get them and find that the cushions are not there. His son who is staffing the store says, they are just on the truck, it will be here in 10 minutes. I wait for about 20 minutes and the truck finally arrives. The cushions are marked with our order number in magic marker. I take them, but they, of course, look awful. After we get them home, we decide we will get some fabric and take it to them, since that was one option he had mentioned. I go to a fabric store and they cut the piece. While there, I call to let him know I'm going to bring the fabric. He says, "oh, it turns out I made a mistake. I put in the wrong number for the fabric. It turns out it will be here by the end of the day". I say, "why didn't you call to tell me? This man has just cut material for me." The kind man at the upholstery store did not charge me, so we went back to plan A. This is a Friday. He says, bring the cushions back and I will have them for you on Monday. I call back same day (Friday) to make sure he's open on Saturdays. Noon to 4 he says. On Saturday we arrive at 12:40 with the cushions. Shop is not open and another customer is waiting. I call him. "stuck in traffic" he says. Be there in 10 minutes. He arrives in about 15 minutes and opens the door. We return the cushions and he says he will definitely have them for us on Monday. I say, fine, but I want you to CALL ME so that I know they are ready. No call on Monday. On Tuesday, I call ahead at around 10:15, because, by now, I know what this place is like. He says, "Yes, they were delivered last night so I didn't call yet, but they are here". I find out how much I owe. I leave at 1:00 pm to pick them up. I get there and he says, they aren't there, they are on the truck, it will be here in 10 minutes. I express frustration with this, but say, I will go run an errand. I leave and run a 15 minute errand. When I come back he says, UNBELIEVABLY, that he told the truck not to come right away because he thought I would take longer! At this point I lose it. I say, "what is the matter with you? How could you tell them that? What kind of way are you running this business?" Whereupon, again, UNBELIEVABLY he DELIVERS A LECTURE ON STAYING CALM "Look at you! Look how upset you are? You should relax. You should remember that any day could be your last." He goes on for some time in this vein. I say, "At every mistake I have been patient, but yes, now I'm angry. You have messed this up from the very beginning. I called, you said they were here, now they STILL aren't here! What is the matter with you?" Then he says, "I was going to give you a discount, but now I'm not because you are upset. Instead, I'm going to give you a valuable lesson." (I swear to God, these were his exact words) "I am going to give you this lesson in not worrying so much and being so upset." At this point, I thought I might spontaneously combust. I said, "well thank you, oh Zen Master", as he continued to implement his customer service plan of Zen instruction. I finally said "Please stop talking now." I literally could not speak I was so angry. He finally took $37 off the almost $400 bill, which, IMHO, is practically nothing for compensation for the extra trips, the waiting, and the trouble. I paid the bill. At that time, the truck finally arrived with my chair cushions. I guess I should thank him for the "valuable lesson". The lesson being, I will remain very calm if I do not ever, ever, ever use this business again. read more

I have a faux leather recliner that has been scratched by my cats. I called Fast & Great and was able to give me a quote over the phone with the choice of fabric I have chosen. Holger was able to accommodate me dropping by that day to check out the fabric samples I have picked out. I needed help with the pick up and delivery and he was able to provide that service as well with a reasonable price. He worked on my recliner for a week as promised. PLEASE - DO NOT USE THIS UPHOLSTERY SHOP! You will regret it - even if it costs you more $ to go somewhere else - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - !!! Workmanship is extremely poor, rude owner, incompetent work, cannot deliver anything on-time (ordered on 7-17, received final job on 9-12), was supposed to be ready in about 7-10 business days, the first delivery and the second delivery of job had to be sent back, I would have sent the 3rd attempt back, but I'm exhausted dealing with him and the sloppy work and at this point I feel that he and his workers aren't competent at their craft. He couldn't even get simple breakfast nook cushions right (on second attempt one was cut higher than the other, didn't lay flush with the edge (hung over the edge) looked horrible, was told I needed to pay more for him to cut a new foam (previously when he took the order he said he could use the existing foam insert). On third/final attempt, they are still not right! Side chair job was also horrible, 1st attempt, could see the imprint of the wood frame on the back, nail-heads weren't put on correctly, lumpy job on the back side and a cut one of the seats to highlight the major issues. He finally got the side chairs acceptable - but this was after he said he would buy more fabric and put seams in the back like it was originally - which he didn't do. At the end of the 3rd attempt to deliver the job and a very long discussion, he offered a minor discount to just end the cycle of sending it back and it being re-delivered and the job still not right. I want to note that one of his comments between the 1st and 2nd delivery when I drove back over to his shop to check the original cushions with the cushions he had created was: "this job is finished... and a waste of his time" wanting to intimidate me to accept his sloppy work - I refused and said I just want it to be done right - I spent over an hour at his hot shop having to show him and his Mother that the breakfast cushions weren't even cut to fit correctly after he said that he had checked them and that they were cut right. Unfortunately I had to show him he was wrong. This is not the way to run a business. Run - run - run! read more

NO NO NO!!! DON'T BRING YOUR ITEMS HERE. I brought a Louis XV armchair with ottoman and their cushions and it's been three weeks and they cannot locate one cushion. I've been told lies from the rude owner, his incompetent mother and another male coworker. I've driven there 3x to retrieve my cushion. The 1st time they couldn't locate it. 2nd time they said it was in the offsite warehouse and it would there the next day. 3rd time the mother said it wasn't finished and she would finish it and drop it off at my house. She never called or came. They DO NOT CARE about the customers and will lose your items. I'm denying the charge from AMEX. Fast & Great Upholstery was exactly that, and I could not be more impressed with their service and quality of work. My couch was not an easy task -- a little hole that required a complete replacement of my large couch cushions to fix. The original cushions had to be ripped out and new cushions sewn in, including work around the hardware at the bottom of the couch. The couch looks better than when I first bought it from Rooms To Go, and repair was insanely quick (about three hours from when they arrived and took the couch to finish and return). I took off the shelf curtains in to be customized to fit two window banks and to add a backing to make them less sheer. This involved turning three panels into two and shortening them for one bank, and just shortening the other two for the other window- 8 inches. Creating loops for hanging was not necessary as they already existed. The curtains were finished professionally, meaning the lining was sewn in correctly-important so they would hang properly. However, they neglected to shorten them. When I took them back to be corrected they refused to acknowledge this was part of our agreement and said they would fix it for an extra hundred dollars. They explained how shortening was not part of the original quote because it was easy at that point but hard now. They would have to cut and re-sew, press, etc. Fine. I agreed. Picked them up and they had just folded the eight inches up several times and stitched it. Wouldn't let me leave with my curtains I had already paid them $700 to work on until I paid them for this extra work that made the whole finished product scream unprofessional. I will now have to pay someone else to make it right. SO WRONG. read more

Our sofa looks amazing! Holger was a pleasure to deal with. He answered all of my emails in a timely fashion and speaks very good English. Their price for reupholstering my sleeper sofa were very reasonable (I got several other estimates from reputable places) and pick up and delivery was fairly priced too. It took less than two weeks from the day I dropped off our fabric until the sofa was finished and delivered to my home. Our 15 year old Mitchell Gold for Restoration Hardware sleeper sofa looks brand new! Originally it had a slip cover which had stains and was worn from years of kid-abuse. This place reupholstered 5 cushions for me that went to two old wicker chairs / ottoman we have. I had hoped to do the project myself but I don't have much experience or available time so I ended up just bringing the fabric & cushions in here for a quote. For a reasonable price at last my sewing project was done just 4 days later! We still need to refinish the wicker chairs to a darker wood color & the now reupholstered canvas cushions will look great. I'll post a picture once I have that finished. Gladys and team did a fantastic and timely job on our upholstery order. We were replacing outdoor cushions for our deck furniture (7 seat cushions, 5 regular back cushions and 2 smaller back cushions). Since these were outdoor, I purchased the foam (by stay dry) and fabric (Sunbrella). They did the job in about a week and for a reasonable price. The language barrier is a bit of a challenge but nothing patience and writing/drawing the intent couldn't overcome. read more

We went to the place to have a vintage knoll chair reupholstered due to some good ratings we read online. We were very disappointed. We were very specific that the original knoll tag that was on the chair is what determined the chair's value and not to lose it. When we got the chair back the tag was lost and the owner was very rude about it. Not only did he not apologize, when we told him that devalued the chair by $500 or more and to please check his warehouse for the tag he said we were lying and stopped returning our calls. When we went to pick it up (it was also ready a week later than they quoted) his employee tried to overcharge us (280 instead of 220) but luckily we had the original quote in writing. Beware of this place. Don't bring anything complicated to them and remember to get your quote in writing. If there is anything specific you want done get that in writing too. read more

Fast & Great Upholstery was not fast or great. They told me the job would take 2 weeks. They ended up taking 2 months for what seemed to be a simple reupholstery of my chair. The first round on the reupholstery didn't reflect what was requested, but they re-did the job, no questions asked. The 2nd go-around was better, but the final product lacks attention to detail - the seat cushion size is wider than the seat of the chair, the stitching is crooked, the seam of the piping is closed at odd areas. Finally, my chair was returned to me with new dents and scratches. Nice staff, but terrible follow through and the quality of their work definitely wasn't worth the cost or hassle. Have had a hard time getting the seat cushion and arm covers from them due to them being extremly busy and losing my fabric, but they have been incredibly nice about this and remedied the problem to my satisfaction. After months exchanging phone calls and photos with Pottery Barn and other upholstery repair companies to find out what exactly was wrong with our Swivel Glider ... I found F&G. I sent photos and they gave me a fair estimate and a very simple fix compared to the other upholstery repair companies. We loaded up our chair drove down to the shop. After a quick look, F&G made a few quick adjustments and recommendations of a few cost saving measures that we could do on our own in the future to prolong the life of our chair, the Swivel Glider was as good as the day we brought our son home. I had some hesitation after reading the reviews online so I went to the store to get a better idea myself. It is a nice family owned business that appears to have a good track record of14 years so I felt good. As per the reviews I read below, Holger is a nice guy and speaks very good English so communication wasn't a problem at all. I needed to reupholster a love seat. We got an estimate of how much fabric we needed and on we went to find the right thing. Long story short we found exactly what we needed but there was less fabric available at the store than Holger's estimate so we called in to figure out how if what was available at the fabric store would be enough if we did the back of the love seat in a different fabric (which goes against the wall so nobody could see) and we purchased the 2 fabrics per Holger's estimation. I understand that is an estimation not an exact measure but I didn't expect to get back almost half the fabric purchased (on both). The job could have been completed with the original (and discounted) fabric we wanted and still have a little extra for like 1 pillow. Instead we ended up spending $170 more and extra fabric we have no use for. The quoted price for pick-delivery wasn't bad; however when talking to Holger the first time he said since we were so close he would only charge 1 way on the delivery. We were thrilled as the price for the work was great and the pickup-delivery was going to be very good as well. At the end of it all we have a very nice looking love seat because I have to admit that they did a good job on it and within the 2 week period agreed but considering the extra cost on unneeded fabric, the fact that the legs were totally beat up during transportation, having to return one of the pillows as the zipper wasn't sawed all the way and then realizing it was stitched the wrong way it wasn't worth AT ALL the initial excitement from the price and nice customer service. If I had to do it all over again, I would not do it with them because of the extra aggravation they caused. I strongly suggest you transport the furniture yourself or prepare it to prevent damage if going with their transportation. They were late on the delivery due to weather but of course didn't even bother to call and notify me or reply to my 3 text messages and voicemail Another thing I as completely shocked by is that even in 2016 they don't have a computer to help manage orders. We forgot our receipt when going to pay and took 20 minutes just to find our order number (give me a break!!) read more
