We decided to recover a chair and a half since we couldn't find a new one in a fabric that we…read moreliked. We have cats and needed a firm tightly woven fabric that wouldn't encourage scratching. Joy Upholstery did a fabulous job in a short time frame since we are listing our house and needed it back for photos. They improved the original design by making the back cushion separate rather than attached to the frame, added a lining to that cushion and put heavier fabric under the chair that our cats wouldn't scratch up. We couldn't find a new chair this wonderful for anywhere close to the cost. Before and after photos below.

Mr. Alex Lima can turn water into wine...probably, because if he can make an old vintage leather…read moreseat cushion transform its life into a new seat cushion then I would say he has miraculous capabilities. I brought an old Fairfield leather office chair that I paid $25 at a second hand store. I knew the brand very well, so I knew its worth (try $1,500-$3,500 easily). I saw past the ripped seat, and I thought that it would be less expensive to have the seat re-leathered than to purchase a new chair in the same brand which is true in theory; however, the price of the leather panels were far beyond what I wanted to pay for a chair that I only wanted to place into my work office space, so I didn't want to invest a lot of money. Alex helped me search through fabric swatches and I found what I thought was unique and went with my theme of traditional elegance with a touch of interesting movements in that space. Viola! Mag's had what I was looking for, and Alex gave me price that was fair. He told me I could pay when I returned and I left with his word that he would call me in a couple of weeks. True to his word, Alex called me and I dropped in to pick up my baby. I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased when I saw the beautiful new seat cushion. Alex is simply a wonderful artist with a eye for perfection because he added a little more padding to provide the right depth the seat needed to the final sewing. I almost did not recognize the cushion if it weren't for the fabric. Alex and his genius hands made this seat cushion sparkle. I highly recommend Mag's for your refurbishing desires of any seat you need. Alex is a master at his craft and clearly he takes pride in his work. I am already thinking about something else I may want to do in the future. Thank you Alex and Mag's Upholstery!

FIVE STARS for this woman-owned Atlanta business! LA and her team were so wonderful to work with,…read moreand LA did a fabulous job reupholstering three pieces of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams furniture we've loved for 10+ years-- a banquette and pair of chairs. LA is such a talented craftswoman with a real passion for her work, which ranges from woodworking and restoring antique pieces to reupholstering furniture (and much more I'm sure). Our pieces look better than ever, and LA's attention to detail is incredible! We paid an extra fee to have the furniture picked up and delivered by her friendly delivery team and it was well worth it. Invoicing (50% deposit and 50% upon completion prior to delivery) is simple and paperless via Intuit Quickbooks and scheduling was a breeze thanks to Adia in customer service. Highly recommend LA who is a Restoration Hero indeed :)

At the high recommendation of several close friends, I made arrangements in person with one of the…read moreshop owners in mid July to have my sofa reupholstered at the end of September. Because I was not given anything in writing, I checked back twice both in person and on the phone to reconfirm the date of service. A pick up time of 4pm was confirmed. The day before I received a call from someone I could barely understand and was told the pick up would now be at noon the next day. Two men arrived in a van and took my sofa and the expensive, custom ordered fabric, along with a check. Later the same day the son of the owners at Ace called to make sure I was home because they were on the way to pick up my sofa! I was shocked to learn they had no knowledge of the earlier pick up! After much confusion I was told that they had indeed sent someone else to pick up my sofa and were sub contracting the work without my knowledge or consent. They would not tell me who these people were or where their shop was located, but assured me the work would be completed on time and to my satisfaction. The sofa was delivered yesterday and I'm extremely dismayed at the quality of the work. Seams along the piping are now puckered where they were once smooth. My beautiful, $95/yard fabric and $750 in labor wasted. Do NOT trust these people with your furniture.

Then, I showed them their paperwork and the receipt from American Express which I had taken a photo of on my phone.
