This was such a fun date night for us! Ironically, we had tickets during inclement weather, so for the majority of our time, we were the only customers in the store. Customer service was a 10/10. My daughter chose to visit The Splatter Studio with three friends to celebrate her 15th Birthday. I scheduled their session online and forwarded waivers to the other parents. Kelise got us checked in and ensured all waivers were filled out. She gave the "kids" their ponchos and shoe covers, and while they liked the goggles for a before photo they chose not to wear them while painting. Kelise gave great instructions at the start, sharing lots of tips and explained how she could help with specialty colors and would change out water regularly. She even advised if one masterpiece is finished with lots of time left then a second could be purchased separate for only $12. It was so fun watching these four use all the different painting methods and how their masterpieces evolved and restarted. Overall I think the paint squirt gun was the favorite, with flinging coming in second place. Even with ponchos on, paint got everywhere! My daughter ended up with blue paint in her ear (LOL). They all had paint splattered in their hair, on their faces and on the clothes showing below where the poncho covered. I had instructed them to wear clothes they didn't mind getting dirty so it was all good. An upgrade to the session was a full bodysuit but just wasn't sure about the fit for teen bodies - and as long as you wear appropriate clothes I don't think they are needed. The music was on point the entire session. My crew jammed, danced and sang while they painted. They had such a great time!!! This was so much fun and such a great event for a ladie's night out. I thought that the pricing for the canvas was very reasonable, but then again, to be able to let out my aggression in the form of artwork while suited up in a poncho and shoe coverings is priceless. They had a bunch of colored paints to choose from and there were barely any rules. I will say, it is hard when you are not given any real directions on how to start your painting. Luckily the people next to me help inspire me a little bit. I am glad that they were not introverted b/c I would have had an issue. The three things that I wish could help improve this space is the music. Play something fun and make me want to dance around a bit. It was just a little too quiet. The strong smell of paint, which is expected, was like a smack in the face at first. Be prepared. You will get used to it. Third, set groups up together. We were a group of 5 and divided into to groups with our backs to each other. While it was fine, I did feel like we missed out on some great conversations with each other. We loved throwing paint at a canvas, and they make it so easy for you by giving you the tools and tons of bright paint color options. They give you a quick tutorial and then you have nearly an hour to work on your masterpiece. At the end of the session, they box them up for you so you don't have to worry about paint getting all over your car. For the price you pay for this place, the customer service is questionable, and the quality of products they offer looks like it came from a Crayola container. The guy working the evening shift was sort of rude and rushing. We had dinner before arriving and he called basically saying if we couldn't get there in 5 minutes we would need to reschedule, but when we arrived the place was dead! Frustrating to see how we were treated and not compromised with. The aprons, shoe covers, and gloves are cheap! If you have big hands, just bring your own gloves. I would recommend having a cleaner studio, and I'm not talking about the paint, but the floors were dirty. My shoe covers were black on the bottom. The bathroom was in poor condition. So disappointed! We made an add on bunny drip figure and went to pick it up several times during the hours posted as being opened. No one was there. Also called and left three messages. No one called back. Then went away for the summer and of course they threw it away. The Splatter Studio was so much fun! Went on a Sunday after brunch and I had a great time. When you first get in they give you a poncho and shoe covers. They then take you into the studio and explain what look the various brushes help you achieve and then you get to work! You can literally do WHATEVER you want. They have a very good variety of colors to choose from and they have some really cool tools. They have water blasters, brushes, splatter brushes, and paint bottles. The employees were kind and walk around offering help and refilling your water. Also, before you get to working on your easel you can work on the wall to see how different tools provide different designs. There were about 8 or so easels in the studio so it was very spaced out and definitely offers social distancing. Located outside PCM you can go grab a bite to eat or scoop of ice cream after (or before) you're done. Seriously- so much fun and you don't need to be artistic at all to throw paint! I will definitely be going again. Note: The paintings take about 3-4 days to dry so you will have to return to pick them up. read more

I took myself to The Splatter Studio on Friday afternoon for my weekly "artist's date". I'm reading Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way" (highly recommend), in which she describes daily journaling and weekly solo dates as crucial practices for creative discovery. The Splatter Studio was perfect for this and also seems like a great creative activity to do with kids, partners, girlfriends, etc. (These were some of the other groups that were there at the same time as me.) It's a great open space with calming energy. The staff is helpful when you need them and is otherwise laid back / lets you find your artistic flow without encroaching (which is important to me in a creative space!) Other tips: -Street parking isn't too hard to find but does cost money ($2-$3 for 1 hour). I would also recommend arriving a few minutes early if you're as bad at parallel parking as I am, ha. -Don't be afraid to use ALL the colors and painting tools at your disposal. - read more

First off the COVID protocols here are great! Everyone was required to have on a mask and did the entire time, we were also always 6ft apart. We went to the splatter studio Feb'22! We made reservations online but the sign in front noted that they accept walk ins as well. For 55 a person you get a poncho, shoe covers, the canvas and as much paint as you want. I also requested gloves for free. You can get a hair net as well but I just used the hood on the poncho. From there one of the workers goes through the different painting/splatter instruments and lets you loose for an hour. They change the music based on who is in there, half way through our session a family with kids came in and all the music turned to young Taylor swift pop. We visited The Splatter Studio in Atlanta, GA at the Ponce City Market and it was AWESOME! You don't need to be an artist to have a great time here but it does bring your inner artist out of its shell. Reservations must be made and they allow one hour per session. It was $50 a person and they provide each person with a 16x20 canvas, four different types of splatter brushes, poncho, shoe coverings, gloves, and lots of different colors of paint. The staff was friendly and helpful. They allow you to leave the canvas to dry and you have 7 days to pick it up. We went here for my birthday and had such a blast! Upon request, they opened the large windows for us as a COVID precaution measure, which we really appreciated. My girlfriend loves art so I decided to surprise her and come to splatter studio. I was glad we received punchos and shoe covers. My favorite were the bottles with the paint in them. Love the atmosphere, the only part I didn't like was the packaging of the painting. It was completely wet when placed in the box therefore the cardboard stuck to the painting. Maybe use the blow dryer to dry it a little before places it in the boxes. Besides that I love the place, I'll definitely be back. read more
