Brand new space outside of downtown Belfast. White tile, huge windows, plenty of space and parking. Staff really trying hard. Checked on us often though not table service. Burger and 2x sandwiches were both great. Russian tea.cake was a little large and dry. Mint chip milk shake was great. Clean bathrooms.

    Time to eat... ;)

What time was it today? It was time for breakfast again at BTC!! Haven't been up in a while but as always- good - and then some! Eggs Benny, Sausage and gravy, a couple of mmmmisoas and a hot chocolate...and of course cookies to go!! Service great, and as expected busy busy!!

Hash in the Pan Locally-owned breakfast spot that's been in operation since 1994. It's gone thru multiple iterations over the years, as it started out as pastry and Italian soda joint, to now being a full-service breakfast and lunch spot. They also just recently moved down the street into these larger, more open digs. The Good: *Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. *Self-serve brewed coffee *Friendly service *Large private lot *Iced Mocha was tasty and had good flavor without being overly sweet. *Croissants are a carb option with your breakfast! No upcharge *Be sure to ask for the homemade jam *First time trying Red Flannel Hash, which evidently is a Maine staple. Essentially it is corned beef hash but with cooked beets and it was really tasty. The earthy sweetness of beets married well to the salty, beefy hash and when combined with the vevety runny egg yolks it made for a hearty and tasty breakfast. The Meh: *Menu is huge, which I'm not a fan of, but if you like variety they've got you covered. Conclusion: Nice spot for a hearty meal and a friendly smile while visiting Belfast.

As we headed out to take in Acadia National Park, we searched for a nearby coffee shop to grab some well-made coffee. We found it nearby in Belfast. A uniquely named restaurant - Bell the Cat. We were greeted promptly by the owner, a delightful gentleman that was ready to seat us immediately. When we explained we were just here for takeout coffee, he escorted us to a second main counter where they were doing a bustling takeout business. We grabbed two coffees as multiple people came in to grab their breakfast pastries and food to go. The coffee was very good - hot, bold, and flavorful. It made the drive to Acadia so much easier. Give this place a try, it's delightful.

Wow, today's. breakfast was truly amazing! One of the best lattes I've ever had. the coffee itself was bold but not bitter and the foam was thick and rich and lasted the entire drink. We had the chicken and waffle that was perfect and could have fed two. The chicken was so tender for a fried item and the waffle was light and airy. The red flannel hash was perfect! Lots of tender corned beef and just the right amount of the delicious beet slaw. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and even the toast was awesome. One of the best breakfasts I've had out in years!

Bell the Cat is counter-table service style restaurant. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I had the blueberry French toast and enjoyed the uniqueness of it. There's an entire bar of coffee varieties to choose from and other coffee drinks available. Great stop for a quick and easy breakfast.

Red flannel hash, with scrambled eggs and gluten free toast!

Stopped by Bell the Cat for breakfast while on vacation! Had the red flannel hash which I had never heard of. Gluten free toast was available to substitute for regular bread. Large chunks of corned beef, with potatoes, beet slaw, 2 eggs and toast! Generous portions and very yummy! Service was at the counter and food brought to the table. Cafe was clean and modern. I would be happy to go back!

I had a cream cheese salmon bagel with a lavender latte and my husband had the Bell breakfast. Both were so good. The coffee latte was nice and hot. Plenty of places to sit in an open atmosphere.

I believe it was the proprietor, who was the sole person behind the counter when we went. He was very friendly. Temper your expectations, because it is not a big French bakery, or an artisan bread or full diner breakfast kind of place. But it is quirky, satisfying, and does what it does really well.

I stopped in for a quick breakfast sandwich and pastry to-go. There weren't a ton of options for sweets, but I did stop by in November. I'm appreciative that it was even open, as most local spots close in the "off" season. The breakfast sandwich was so unique! There were scallions cooked into the fried eggs, which was a super interesting, flavorful touch. My pastry was a maple oatmeal cookie sandwich. Holy. Moly. This was insanely good! I'd stop again to try some other pastries.

We enjoyed the margaritas which were fruity, flavorful and refreshing . For dessert, we shared the chocolate Babka . Don't tell my Bubbie that it was even better than hers. We were seated promptly and waited 45 minutes for our food. I wouldn't object completely to the long wait , but the food that arrived was lackluster , and barely worth a mention here. I had eggs Benedict , eggs were overcooked and cold. My partner ordered the shasuka. This was an odd presentation with the eggs and sauce in a broiler dish , with pita bread and spinach on the side. I always assumed eggs and spinach , and sauce should all be together. Like so many restaurants I encounter in Maine , it's not that the food or service is that bad, but rather the fact that with minimal effort , it could be so much better.

The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!

Over five days, we tried six different seafood restaurants in the hunt for the best lobster roll in Maine. The finale was at Young's lobster Pound and they did not disappoint. We had both fresh caught and boiled lobster, it was cooked well and a great experience. The more important part of our stop was the lobster roll, it was the best traditional main lobster roll we had on our trip. The amount of lobster was above average, the tenderness of the lobster on the roll was perfect, there was only a light bit of mayo on the roll and warm butter was poured over the mountain of lobster. This did not have your traditional type role, they did it on a toasted and butter round type bun, this had me a bit curious as to why, after eating, I realized it was so you could manage the massive amount of lobster they portion. The second bonus about the stop was we were able to take pictures and enjoy the scenery with no crowd as we were here at the beginning of May and very early in the morning. I imagine if you come during peak season, you will be waiting for long periods of time, if not hours as the workers reported how busy they as the weather warms up. Excellent food and experience.
