Lobster roll - great taste and value

Great lobster roll at the right price. Outside picnic table seating available. Friendly service and also lots of beer & wine for your camp.

Nice little convenience store in the area. Stopped for a cheap lobster roll and it did not disappoint! Great value for less than $20 (the basket is more but comes with sides). The staff were friendly and helpful. One stop shop for a quick bite, roadtrip snacks, ice cream or even a book, as they have a cute little library.

Wonderful locally-owned restaurant and shop, with great food, great service, and great locally-made gourmet goodies! Good beer selection as well. Mostly, the owner is friendly, hard-working, and goes above and beyond to help her customers. Highly recommend supporting this local Northport business!

Visited the new store for the first time, our family ordered pizza and they were kind enough to keep the kitchen open late, I know it's hard when people come in right when you're ready to shut down, but they were very gracious! Nice selection of staples and local products! All the staff were wearing masks despite the hot humid weather! Happy they are open! Will be back soon!

They make the best sub sandwiches! They also serve Gifford's ice cream. Buy lunch here and take it down to the coast!

Ask the Community - The Bayside Store

Is there a menu for their pizza and subs?

They are under new ownership and I believe the menu is being revamped. I've read on their Facebook page that if you call to order they will help you with what they have.

I'm from New Orleans, where food doesn't whisper--it speaks up. After spending a full month traveling the Maine coast from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, I found plenty of fresh seafood and scenic charm, but very few dishes that truly woke up my palate. Then I walked into Hey Sailor. This place doesn't hold back. The flavors are layered, intentional, and memorable--each bite feels thoughtfully built rather than simply assembled. There's a balance here between creativity and comfort, with dishes that feel both elevated and satisfying. It's the kind of food that makes you pause mid-conversation because your attention suddenly shifts to what's happening on the plate. In a region where subtlety often takes the lead, Hey Sailor confidently turns up the volume without losing finesse. It's not just good for Maine--it's good, period. If you're someone who craves food with depth, personality, and a little punch, this is a stop worth making. For me, it stood out as one of only two places on this entire coastal stretch that truly delivered that kind of experience.

Cozy bar too.

The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!
