We came in hoping for something simple and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find seating upstairs, and I completely understand that with full service and a nice view, you're going to pay a little more. The view was nice once our table was cleaned, and the service was friendly and attentive overall. The reason for three stars is really the food. Nothing was terrible, but unfortunately, nothing was very good either. As a longtime restaurant owner, what stood out to me was the lack of attention to detail and the overall quality and quantity of the proteins and ingredients. I have no problem paying $15 for a simple sandwich if it's executed well. But little things add up: a tiny bag of chips, a very small pickle portion, minimal meat, minimal kraut, minimal sauce. It felt like every possible quarter was being shaved off the plate. I understand how difficult it is to make money in restaurants right now, but at some point the guest notices. I ordered the hot Reuben. It really wasn't hot, the bread wasn't crisp, the cheese wasn't properly melted, and the meat quality was fairly lackluster. There simply wasn't much meat, kraut, or sauce to make it feel like a satisfying Reuben. My wife ordered the chicken, artichoke and pesto sandwich. Again, the execution was the issue. The pesto wasn't spread evenly from edge to edge, the cheese wasn't melted, the sandwich wasn't particularly hot, and there were only a couple small pieces of artichoke. That's probably what disappointed me most. These are relatively simple sandwiches, and simple food can be fantastic when the basics are done correctly: crisp the bread, melt the cheese, distribute the condiments evenly, use enough filling, and cut and plate the sandwich with a little care. Those small details make a huge difference. We also had two non-alcoholic beers at $8 each. That isn't outrageous, especially in a tourist area with a view, but $16 for two cans of NA beer still feels like it's pushing the upper end of reasonable. The service was good, the staff was friendly, and the upstairs view was enjoyable. I just wish the same level of care had gone into the sandwiches. I don't write reviews every time I'm disappointed, but after owning a restaurant and responding personally to customer reviews for more than 12 years, I tend to notice these things. Hopefully this is taken as constructive feedback, because the fundamentals here are very fixable. read more

Sandwich was not personally my favorite. I ordered a hot sandwich and all of the ingredients including bread were served cold. To me it was overall bland. The bread was okay. I even asked for garlic mayo to be added and it still tasted very plain for my preference. It's important to note that maybe I am the oddball out. Sandwiches don't have a high bar but each time we have ordered from Camden Deli, they never quite measure up. Threw away half my $20 sandwich because it was soggy. Incredible views, great location, delicious sandwiches. Loved The Olad and I would order it again in a heartbeat. My fiancé loved The Tuscan too. The baked goods are massive--- we only tried the peanut butter brownie and mint brownie and they weren't our favorite since the mint/peanut butter topping was quite thick and fudgey but that was just personal preference. Sandwich shop right on the water in Camden. I got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was very good. It comes with chips. They have lots of seating and a view of the water. I went here only for blueberry pie, after having my proper lunch elsewhere. It's a good pie. The crust is clearly homemade and flaky, and there's a huge density of blueberries. Why not 5*? Absolutely lovely experience sitting on the rooftop deck right as they opened for breakfast. The breakfast was simple and lovely: oatmeal with fruit and an egg white sandwich. Felt homemade like something I could whip up in my kitchen. The worker was so lovely and opened up the door to the deck right as they opened. Delicious! I only wish we had tried Camden Deli earlier--it was truly the best place we ate during our six-day stay in town. The breakfast was fantastic. The menu is typical deli menu which is delicious with some fantastic salads. Basic BLT was good - lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, bacon crisp. Turkey Surprise included nice deli turkey, arugula, tomato & bacon. Steak bomb was hot, juicy and pretty good - even lacking a good amount of peppers & onions. One went for grilled cheese on sourdough - proclaimed it a five out of 10 due to the cheese. These sandwiches, along with two bottles of water and a couple of high end organic juices was over $65. Self-service, sat in the dining room, which was clean, but a bit chilly. I get the higher costs. This is a tourist town! And, having a nice lunch that worked for kids from 16-25 is well worth it! read more

We stopped here because Camden Deli has a second story deck with about 10 tables looking out over a waterfall and the Camden harbor. This is a great place to sit any time of day, and they have a nice bar for wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Staff are very nice and friendly. Service was professional and fast. Stopped in for lobster rolls on a Saturday in august. They were busy but there were lots of staff behind the counter. This is a deli where you order at the counter and find a table on your own. They have an upstairs deck which I didn't see and we sat downstairs where there were plenty of open tables. The lobster rolls here were substantially cheaper than at other restaurants and were a bit smaller than most. Also the rolls were not toasted. The lobster tasted good, though, and I'd say for the money it was a good roll. However, if you've never had one I suggest going to a seafood restaurant to get one because this roll was not as good as one in a full-service restaurant (where it would cost 1.5-2x more). My only complaint is that the chips were a 0.5 ounce bag, like a first grader would eat in a lunchbox. I would suggest that the owner should charge me another dollar and give me a real bag of chips. read more

My family has been visiting the Camden area for approximately six years now and we always try to stop at the Camden Deli at least once during our stay every year. The Camden Deli has a great selection of sandwiches, wether you like unique sandwiches or you're just a plain Italian sandwich type of person. There is plenty of seating available inside. This year my fiancé and I ordered online to go, which is super easy as staff will simply put your order on a shelf outside so you don't even have to worry about entering the restaurant.
