Love, love, and more love! So adorable and by far the best breakfast biscuit of my life! And I've had a lot! I will dream of this one as the benchmark until I have it again. This is such a good spot! An active butcher shop with a deli/bakery section selling grab and go goodies, breakfast sandwiches as well as other sandwiches and hosting dinner pop-ups with local businesses featuring delicious BBQ, steak, and other sundries AND they have a soft serve ice cream stand?! I've died and gone to heaven. My husband ordered a burger with fries - delicious burger with hand-cut fries that he adored and I had the breakfast biscuit sandwich with cheese, egg, and sausage. Sooo good! We sat outside on the shaded patio and our toddler had a good time running around in the spaces and enjoying the fresh greenery and flowers. Staff were very friendly and patient, despite the crowd at the time and food was fresh and delicious and well worth a short wait. Delicious! I have been to Bleeker and Greer a couple of times. The staff is really kind. A standout in the midcoast area of Maine!!! IYKYK! The food is delicious. I had the burger with the handout fries. Handcut fries are a labor of love and honestly, it feels like everything they do at B&G is done with a labor of love. The Cardamom Rose tea was also a wonderful afternoon delight! 10/10 recommend this roadside market. We stopped in by pure chance recalling it looked "cute" on our drive to lamoine. Sure enough, we weren't wrong. The breakfast biscuit sandwich was THE BEST biscuit you will ever have the pleasure of enjoying. Granted, my opinion is that it was perfect for the sandwich, it wouldn't be dense enough for sausage gravy. It would have to be a topper rather than getting slathered if you know what I mean. I went lighter and got a blueberry scone which was equally as delicious just satisfying my sweet tooth vs his savory one that morning. Anyway, we loved it so much while we were eating I went back inside and grabbed two more scones - a blueberry and fig/almond for us to have the following morning for sunrise at Cadillac. Bleecker and Greer out to be called "Prosciutto and butter" in honor of the item that we had today. This is a sandwich worth the hour long trip from home. The prosciutto was tangy and satisfying on the roll with butter. The sandwich is made already, and by the register so you don't forget to pick one up. Let me also say that the potato salad was stellar--the dill was a nice touch. The cookies were fantastic as well. I normally don't go for little specialty stores, but this one was reasonably priced in every way. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Go there. You won't be sorry. read more

B and G right across the street from my house. Meat: amazing selection of great cuts. They do homemade hotdogs that are off the meter, watched them make the wieners a couple of times. Sausage offerings are excellent. Lamb and beef have never disappointed! Cafe: the offerings are diverse, both liquid and food oriented. It is a charming place with literally hundreds of delicious things I wanted to try. We came in at lunchtime and though busy, we were promptly served at the counter. We both had the pizza of the day... a wonderful large piece of thick crunchy-crust pizza with a delicious marinara, green onions and sausage. Not sure if they have that daily, but the quiche and other items look very tasty as well. Communal seating inside and tables outside. Also would be great for picking up a picnic or a make at home meal. I didn't order from the butcher, but I'm sure that would be incredible as well. We will definitely go back! read more

I received a gift basket from this establishment at Christmas time. I'm writing my review at this late date because I recently had a conversation with someone else who had a similar experience. My basket had two dented boxes of pasta, two plastic to-go containers of pasta sauce - one tomato and one bolognese, and one chunk of parmesan cheese. There were no ice packs and nothing to keep the sauces cold. They were room temperature and had been shipped from Maine to California with nothing to keep them cold enough to be safe to eat. The parmesan cheese was so old and dry I could barely shred it. Everything still had price tags on it which is tacky (and way overpriced). So I had to throw the sauce out because it could have had bacteria growing in it, most of the cheese had to be tossed because it was so rock hard. I would never buy from this place and am deeply disappointed, given the price tags, that the person who gifted this to me was ripped off. Buyer beware. read more

We waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches--which would be fine if the sandwiches had been edible. For some reason I cannot understand my jerk chicken sandwich was COVERED in blueberries. These were not listed on the menu--there was supposed to be mango chutney which would make sense with a jerk chicken sandwich. I would not have ordered a chicken and blueberry sandwich because that's disgusting. I tried to eat just the chicken with a fork--because I'm STARVING and also because I paid $13 for this garbage--but the chicken apparently needed the blueberries because it was dry as sawdust. This is a market/cafe on route 1, in Rockport when you are headed to Camden, going north. There's plenty of parking, though spots are not clearly delineated, which makes it a free for all in winter. The market has multiple counters for cheese, meat, pastries, and sandwiches. There are many dry goods for sale, though I would never use it as a plAce to do my grocery shopping, it's very specific items that are available. I got a grilled cheese sandwich to go, and I was super surprised that it still tasted amazing when I got home 15 minutes later! It had bacon and pickled onions, with their homemade bread. The sandwich came with truffle potato chips that were homemade. It was about $10, a bit much for the area and this place is defInitely expensive. It does have quality ingredients. read more

A perfect end to a week-long vacation in Cape Breton Island was to stock up on some NY steaks (which we've done many times before)--& this time load up on garlic confit sausages & lamb chorizo. Back home, the steaks were (as usual) fantastic, & having the sausages with pasta & tomato sauce was truly transcendent! (I wish I had gotten more of them to freeze & enjoy later.) First things first, if you're looking for a sign that says Maine Street meats you're going to be lost. The sign at the road is Bleeker and Greer. If you do manage to find your way here, you're in for a treat. My wife and I were staying at a nearby resort for a week, and we ended up here 6 out of 7 days. First, the store. They carry a nice variety of jams, cheeses, dairy products, chips, all kinds of tasty things. The fresh baked items are amazing. Good bread, great croissants, and the pastries are amazing. They serve hot food and takeout things to go. My wife probably ate 5 prosciutto and butter sandwiches during the week. I ate other premade sandwiches and quiche. All delicious. My wife drank a lot of coffee from here too, and she drinks good coffee. There's also an outdoor food stand that makes good stuff, and carries local ice cream cups. Be warned: due to the pandemic, their hours/days/availability are a bit wonky right now. The staff is overworked, the lines may be a little longer. But worth it. All told, Bleeker and Greer gets a buttery, flakey, 5 stars! read more

BLEEKER & GREER is the name on the sign along Route 1...and it's worth a stop. This is a high end boutique for butcher cut meat, charcuterie, imported cheese, pastry, and baked goods. There are also sandwiches, premade entrees and soups, and some light grocery dry goods. It's not a grocery store per se, but it's got a lots of specialty items. If you've hit a big city specialty food shop, this is the same vibe, price tag, and helpful but snooty staff. Today I got a quart of terrific roasted tomato soup, a crispy rustic loaf, some luscious aged cheese, and a few other goodies to take to our rental house. The store was full and the outside sandwich stand was very busy. I went in looking for some local goodies and didn't exactly find them, but it's definitely a spot to hit for easy to go meals and gourmet items. read more

I love the unique variety. Their pastries are pretty good, I have tried many but often don't feel the need to have them again. They have a great rotating bread selection, my favorite is the fruit and nut sourdough available on Saturdays. I took 1 star off for the breakfast sandwich. I first had it about a year ago and it was AMAZING. Grilled to perfection with toasty bread and a delicious tomato chutney. I wanted everyone I knew to try it. Unfortunately the quality is so intermittent, often I don't even want to gamble on it anymore. Sometimes the English muffin is super softy and almost soggy, I think from being in the deli foil wrap. More than once I've received a sandwich with a missing ingredient (either no chutney or no greens or no meat) did they just run out? I don't know, but it's disappointing when it happens. A new worker left $16 package of roast beef out of the bag, my wife noticed when we got home. They set it aside at the store, and I drove an hour to pick it up today. As I was leaving, I said to the clerk that an apology would be nice. She started going on about how busy they get and that my wife should have noticed. I consider this pretty rude and did not need to hear excuses. In a nutshell, good food, but not so much on attitudes of some of the clerks. My wife spends several hundred dollars a month there, and I buy us breakfast or lunch at least once a week. I will never spend anymore money there myself. read more

Perfection. A whole reason to come to the mid coast, all on its own. Their prosciutto and butter baguette?! Swoon! Bahn Mi days?! Wowza!

This specialty food store is seductive and sinful and we love it. I don't think there is a high-end gourmet store in NYC or DC that can match its selection of cheeses, charcuterie, wine, pastas, and oils and vinegars and to top it all off they also serve lunch. The lunch menu is limited but it seems that whatever they come up with is top-notch with sandwiches and soup as the typical offering. There is limited seating in the store and more tables on the porch. The women who run the place are knowledgeable and gracious. There is a butcher shop on premises that I haven;t yet tried but I saw a New York strip steak that was a work of art. All of that and truffle potato chips that will blow you away. You might be tempted to linger a bit too long or even stow away but your time will be well spent and your palate well treated. This is a very special place that is a major addition to the Midcoast culinary scene. read more
