We were visiting the area with a friend that has property in Pemaquid. She said we must visit Deb's, so we did. Wow. The food was exceptional, the service was spot on, friendly, homey diner atmosphere. Timing is everything. The place is small and we managed to snag a table immediately. When we left, the line was long waiting to eat. There were four of us and we were all pleased with our food. A scratch diner and you won't be disappointed. My husband and I stopped a Deb's on our way to Pemaquid Lighthouse. We just Googled "breakfast" on the way and found Deb's. Upon parking and walking inside I was kinda like... really? It's so tiny, very homey, and I wasn't sure how this meal was going to turn out. But HOLY SH!T! After our food came, I ate my words and my breakfast. The food was fricking amazing. We were soooo satisfied after devouring our breakfast. The only criticism I have is that their water glasses hold roughly 6 ounce of liquid and look like they're made for a toddler. I can't speak highly enough about this place! My friends and I were up in Maine for the weekend and came here for Sunday brunch. We had to wait for a bit to get a table, but they gave us a buzzer and we hung out at the picnic tables outside. All the food was absolutely spectacular. The menu had all the classics, had a hard time deciding what to order! I had the swimming hole hash, which was delicious. The kielbasa was nicely browned and added a heartiness to the dish. Go for one of their homemade bread options for sure! My friends all enjoyed their meals (high praise for the pancakes and French toast especially). Not only was the food amazing, but the people were great too - the staff and customers alike! Everyone was really friendly and in good spirits. Vacationing and needed a spot for Father's Day breakfast. Deb's hit the spot. We arrived at the right time and were quickly seated. Appeared to be a good mix of vacationers and locals. My husband and I ordered off of the specials board, Philly Cheese Steak eggs Benedict and the Sausage Gravy and Biscuits Casserole. Both were excellent! The poached eggs in the Benedict were perfectly cooked and the casserole had just the right amount of sausage. Our daughter ordered 2 slices of French toast. First, they are THICK--at least an inch if not more. Secondly, it was a cinnamon swirl bread which made it even better. My son went simple with eggs and toast and ate the whole thing. Service was quick and with a smile. My coffee cup was never empty. The diner itself is small. You may need to call ahead if you have a group larger than 5. Found this little place when I took my family to New Harbor. My daughter & I have a thing where we like to find places to get breakfast. Nice little place with a bar and maybe 6 tables/booths tops. Service was friendly, and the French toast I got was excellent. My kid got a pancake which reminded me very much of funnel cake. The friendly laid-back atmosphere went appropriately well with the general tone of Maine. Had a very peaceful vacation and this place added to the whole experience. Unbelievably great food and service and reasonably priced. We are from Harpswell and have passed this place several times but it was in the afternoon just after it closed. We made a point to come Sunday morning during business hours and were rewarded with homemade corned beef hash and a blueberry pancake with Maine blueberries throughout the batter And sprinkled on top. OMG, best breakfast, polite service, walked in at an extreme busy time, servers were polite, explained either put name in or take seat at counter, they were so nice....we ordered within 10 minutes, sausage gravy bisquits and their famous corn beef hash. EXCELLENT food! Yum! The 3 stars are for the service. The server was nice and good service EXCEPT.... two of us decided to split one meal. I told the server that the two of us are sharing one meal. The server said she'll bring us two plates. I ordered an omelet. The server asked what kind of toast I wanted. I asked her what kind of toasts do they have. She rattled off a list including a whole grain with sunflower seeds and I picked that one. The other two ladies in the group put in their orders and were asked which toast they wanted. We got our meals and everything was DELICIOUS! Then the bill came. My bill for one delicious omelet that came with homefries and toast, along with two coffees came to over $28. I thought that was kinda of high. The server informed me that there was a $3 CHARGE FOR SPLITTING THE MEAL and the TOAST WAS AN EXTRA $2 because we picked the wholegrain. Never, before, during, or after ordering or when we were presented with the bill, did the server mention the extra charges. Thinking about it now, the $3 charge for splitting must be per person!
