Great service! Our server was also our bartender, and he was willing to work with me on finding a drink I'd like. He made a strawberry Margarita that was fresh and tasted great! We were happy to find a place that had clam strips! Everywhere we had found, they only had whole belly. They were slightly overcooked, but they were still delicious.

Yum!! A lovely lunch along our drive to Bar Harbor. The Cole slaw was delish! I've never thought about horseradish in my Cole slaw but now I couldn't go without it. Cool location and ambiance.

A comfortable, if a bit tight, place to eat. It's got a bit of museum artifacts to look at while you wait, too. Our server, Jack/John, was friendly. He also gave a great beer recommendation to my husband! I got the Clam Chowder and a baguette. I'm very happy with our visit! Good job cooks and Jack!

I had a job to do in Belfast on a Thursday evening, so I couldn't leave town without trying out a new place to eat. Food was very good. Homemade fries. A little soft, the way I like them with some seasoning to them. Haddock was good, not the best I've had in Maine, but an 8 out of 10. Service was good and fast. Not overly busy after 7PM on a week night. Next time I'll be trying the baked, blackened haddock dinner.

You should see my review of Front Street Pub. *It's the same business.* The food is delicious and the service is warm and welcoming. Seriously, don't walk past this place to go somewhere else (unless it's the Front Street Pub) If you do, you'll miss out on great food and friendly service. It deserves five stars AND I hardly EVER give five stars.

    Amazing lobster roll.

Get there early and you will probably see lobstermen unloading crates of lobster from the nearby harbor. It's not waterfront, but in the late fall you can see the bay through the trees after the leaves fall! Bonus! We ordered a traditional Maine style mayo lobster roll and a buttered lobster roll for comparison. The traditional Maine style mayo lobster roll was absolutely perfect! Just enough mayo to bind the fresh, plump, tender sweet cold water lobster meat. Oh and no fillers, just lobster meat (mostly tender sweet knuckle/claw meat, mmmmm) and just the right amount of mayo. Same for buttered lobster roll, just the right amount of clarified butter as a binder. No need to overpower the fresh delicate flavor of tender cold water lobster from Maine waters. Both lobster rolls were presented on an over stuffed buttered and grilled hot dog style roll. Plated with fresh, hot ,skin on shoestring fries and some house made slaw. Delicious! Both rolls perfect! Hard to tell which one we liked better. Maybe slight advantage to the traditional mayo style, just cause thats the way we like it. If you cant decide, We recommend you get one of each, split with a friend, and judge for yourself. Either way you wont be dissapointed. The Bayside store is not just a lobster roll place. Its a great old world style small market with something for everyone. You can get just about anything from breakfast, to a burger, to fresh house made soup, to a great selection of local craft beers! As soon as you walk in through the swinging screen door you feel automatically welcome. Seems like the place where there is always fresh hot coffee on and friendly staff to greet you. There are relaxing benches and some hightop counters to relax and enjoy your meal or a cup of coffee. Weather permitting, there is also casual and comefortable outside seating. Oh and the staff was so pleasant and welcoming. Makes you want to come back and be a regular! Highly recommended! 5+++++ We will return! Again and Again!

Our order took over 30 minutes to prepare. Someone ordered two subs after us and were told it would be 1 hr and 15 minutes. There is definitely a more efficient way to run the kitchen. Used to be one of our absolute favorite places to go. I hope the new owners can figure it out so they can keep this place going.

Hey Sailor in Searsport, Maine, delivers something surprisingly rare along this stretch of coast:…read morebold, confident flavor that actually lands. I'm from New Orleans, where food doesn't whisper--it speaks up. After spending a full month traveling the Maine coast from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, I found plenty of fresh seafood and scenic charm, but very few dishes that truly woke up my palate. Then I walked into Hey Sailor. This place doesn't hold back. The flavors are layered, intentional, and memorable--each bite feels thoughtfully built rather than simply assembled. There's a balance here between creativity and comfort, with dishes that feel both elevated and satisfying. It's the kind of food that makes you pause mid-conversation because your attention suddenly shifts to what's happening on the plate. In a region where subtlety often takes the lead, Hey Sailor confidently turns up the volume without losing finesse. It's not just good for Maine--it's good, period. If you're someone who craves food with depth, personality, and a little punch, this is a stop worth making. For me, it stood out as one of only two places on this entire coastal stretch that truly delivered that kind of experience.

"hey…read moresailor" had a funky name and advertised good tacos. give it a shot, right? $8 per taco-which seemed like a lot- but expecting a big crunch very tasty taco. Nope. tiny. think smallest grocery store street taco wraps. they doubled them up presumably to add weight to it and to keep it from falling apart but they did anyway. which was a minor miracle because there was barely anything in it. said it would be ready in an hour. took hour and 15 min. worst of all, they left out the sauces which presumably would give these tiny things some personality. got house made taco chips to go with it, they tasted like they had been sitting around a lot longer than an hour. terrible salsa. like diced tomatoes and water. overall, fifty bucks (sixty after tip) for 4 little soft tacos and some nasty chips. I get it. it's a tough business and hard to get good help. I had my own small restaurant for 40 years. but I was always there making sure everything was as good as possible. and it was. get it together guys. put some effort into it and don't disappoint people like us traveling who don't want fried seafood or pizza, for Christ's sake.
