Toppings are on the hot dog when you receive your food so if you want less or more of something on the hotdog you should let them know in advance. There is no way that a reasonable and prudent person can eat just one Moody Dog. That kind of deliciousness deserves to celebrated with at least two or three different hotdogs from this food truck....and at least several visits! I am a lover of sausages and meat in tube form and this small yet mighty truck turns out some of the best. The weiners have great snap and tremendous flavor and are topped with good ingredients (the Morse's sauerkraut never disappoints). Ingredients are nicely proportioned and there is great attention to all sorts of dietary restrictions. Gluten free? They've got food for you. Vegetarian? Gotcha covered too. The menu is huge for a food truck. I was impressed with the patience and kindness of the server. It was so nice to be greeted with a big smile and a sense of humor. So many businesses are stretched to a breaking point with lack of staff so it was wonderful to be welcomed with unhurried patience and appreciation for our orders. I can't wait to go back! read more

So this is a food truck parked and supplied with chairs in a municipal parking lot. There's a bunch of tasty topping options and a few specials. The shroom dog with locally foraged chanterelles is a very distinct taste and texture. The house made Vegan dog goes well with it but doesn't taste like a hot dog. The bison slider was excellent. After a mediocre $60 lunch on the main drag that left us still hungry, on the way to our parked car we decided to stop into The Moody Dog to try one of their homemade vegan hotdogs. TMD is a shaggy little food truck that's permanently tucked off the main street, next to a public parking lot (behind a bike shop). As it turned out, virtually all of their dog dishes could be made vegan/plant-based. I went with a "classic" (ketchup, yellow mustard, relish, grilled onions -- no mayo); Jay went with the "Chicago" dog (yellow mustard, raw white onions, pepperoncini, dill pickle, tomatoes, sweet relish). (This was no-frills since we just had lunch.) We both really liked it: The homemade vegan hotdog was pretty tasty. (It was a bit "soft" for me -- comparing it to a Field Roast Stadium Dog (which is as close to a "real" hotdog that I think there is for vegans -- but still "hotdog-like.") It satisfied our lingering hunger pangs, that's for sure! I definitely will be back to The Moody Dog the next time I'm in Belfast...!! :D read more

I have eaten them warm from the grill there on site, at room temperature after taking them home to share, and after I have refrigerated them (by choice) and they have always tasted delicious! The dog itself is good but at 5 dollars it is too expensive for a hot dog lunch. And 6 dollars for a vegetarian! The best part is the kraut. It is quality made, served cold to preserve the good enzymes and delicious. I didn't think to ask for regular,"smooth" mustard since they tout their own homemade. Well, you have to really like whole mustard seeds because you get about 1/4 cup of whole seeds on your dog. It really ruined it for me. I was game at first but I could barely get through eating it. It was too intense and unpleasant and it didn't sit well with me afterwards. Not in the nicest part of downtown. You can sit at tables under umbrellas but I was nervous with all the wind, they are barely hanging in there, seeming ready to snap because it looks like someone used a quick fix metal thing at the top. Better fix those things much better than they are now, someone could get hurt. read more
