While biking through Belfast we stopped to get wraps to eat along our route and so glad we came across Bay Wrap. The person behind the counter was very helpful with suggestions and informed us that every wrap could be made with tofu as the protein so well worth exploring the many options there are. The choice is small 10" or large 12" wrap. We went with the 10" and was very pleased with the size. I got the "To Thai for" and my wife opted for the "Gonzo for Garbanzo ". Heads up the falafel is spicy. Overall great stop and I would highly recommend. read more

I thought this was a coffee shop based on walking by a dozen times. When I finally went in I realized it's actually a cafe that serves coffee. That's good, since their coffee isn't. The service was fine. The plexiglass barriers that completely surround the coffee bar and register had me rolling my eyes all the way to heaven, though. Are we still not past this??? These barriers do NOTHING except impede communication. I had to repeat myself more than once in the short interaction because the barista could not hear me. We were in Bangor for a few days and the owner of our AirBnB said Belfast was a great place to visit and we came across Bay Wrap. We had intended to go to the place next door, but it looked overpriced so we took a look at Bay Wrap The staff was incredibly friendly. We interacted with four staff members including the owner, Charlie. He really has a great team there. I ordered the To Thai For. It's grilled chicken, in a Thai red curry peanut sauce, jasmine rice, carrots, sprouts, cucumber, fresh cilantro, thaid up in a chili tortilla. It was so awesome! I loved the chili tortilla. The wrap was put together very well. It didn't fall apart on you. So much flavor! I would have ordered another one if they weren't so big. My friend is a vegetarian and they have plenty of veggie options. He ordered the Gonzo for Garbanzo. It's homemade baked falafel, bed of greens, garlic yoghurt sauce, drizzled with tahini, with cucumber, tomato and sprouts wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. I didn't even have a chance to eat here! It's no wonder that this place is always empty, it's a mess. There are two entrances and only one person that was working there. I waited at the front coffee bar for several minutes and no one came out. We then went around to the back area where the owner? was making a wrap for someone and talking way too much. He didn't really acknowledge us and kept talking. The menu looked ridiculous with a bunch of stupid wraps and I'm sure nothing is homemade. So great job on getting those people to write reviews for your business. Great job a getting those people to lie on your yelp page. Food is terrible. Prices are unbelievably high. How is it that a sub shop can't even make a wrap. When I opened my wrap is was just soggy and the vegetables weren't even cooked. The meat was gross and tasted like it was frozen. Never again will I stop there for lunch. Also re-train your staff and get them to be more friendly and act like they are there to make money. I'd give zero stars if I could. It had the best café au laít I've ever had. Somehow the milk came out very thick and foamy and frothy all at the same time. Didn't need a latte. They also have coffee ice cubes for your iced coffee. Only a few tables in the place so might get crowded at some points but most people were leaving with their food. A group of 8 of us walked in here to get a late lunch at 3:45pm. Instead of getting a warm greeting, we were immediately told that if we come in with 10 or more people, we should call an hour ahead of time. We explained, "Well, we only have 8, so..." Didn't seem to matter to her. For the record, no one else was in there. I ordered the philly with no mushrooms or peppers, and she said they are all cooked together. She explained, "the way we do it is cook the peppers and onions first and then add the mushrooms." So I said, "that's fine, I can do the peppers, just don't add the mushrooms at the end." She then explained that she would then need to hand pick the mushrooms out. The cook reiterated this shoddy logic as well. At this point, I figured it was pointless to try any more.. I simply said just put raw onions on it and let's call it a day. Well what I received was much like a lukewarm rolled up wet sock. Nothing in it was hot. All I could do was shake my head. And $22+ for two of these wraps and drinks was outrageous. Just terrible food and service. Go somewhere else. read more

It has been over 10 years since I've visited this establishment. I finally returned today and I can honestly tell you that the food is just as good as it was back then. The quality, the taste and the service...it's all still amazing. Having moved from the area years ago I was always on the lookout for something similar to Bay Wrap and I never found anything remotely close. I had to have my favorite To Thai For that I so fondly recalled when I stopped in. The name of that wrap always stuck in the back of my head. And the taste of that wrap was permanently etched onto my taste buds from many years back. Charlie even recognized me which says A LOT about him as a business owner and a person. How many other businesses can you step into 10 years later and the owner recognizes you? Bay Wrap is a jewel in the crown of Belfast eateries. Loveee this place! I've been recently coming here after a friend suggested it to me that lives in Belfast. At first I was skeptical because of the prices on the wraps,BUT I have to say that it's worth the money and the wraps are very tasty. Since I'm vegetarian it's hard to find food around that's actually good in flavor and I ordered the jimmy with tofu,I thought that it was delicious. The ingredients seemed very fresh and it all came together nicely. When you walk in it's friendly and inviting. I thought the workers were very nice and they seemed to care a lot about the quality of the wraps that they were making. After I ate I went over to the coffee shop side and sat down and had one of their iced coffees. It was good and the place was relaxing. I would recommend this place to anyone. Stopped in to get some cookies/baked goods. The dinning room was occupied with 2 people at one table. At the order counter, no one was there - but there was sign that said to go to the back dinning room and ask for assistance. I go in the back dinning room which is where the kitchen also is located. I stand there for two minutes, while the owner/manager looks at me, but says nothing. There's a guy (turns out he's an employee) sitting at his laptop engrossed in what ever he was reading. I finally ask the owner/manager (slim, 30 something) if someone could assist me out front to purchase the cookies. Without directly addressing me, he sarcastically shouts to Ethan the laptop engrossed sitting employee, "Ethan, do you think you could help him out!" What a jerk. I would never go here again. Some people should not be in the hospitality business - this guy is clearly one of them. read more

The wraps here are HUGE. They can be hard to manage because of that and a bit messy. The prices are a little High for a wrap, but the size really makes up for it. I love the Philly wrap so that's usually my go to. Owner and staff have always been friendly. Only complaint is that they had a high chair for us to use for our toddler last time we ate there and it was disgustingly filthy and missing straps to buckle him in. Overall I was kind of underwhelmed. $9+ for a wrap seemed kind of steep and I would have expected a little more inside the wrap. They do have a good variety though. Both my wife and I ended up with the wrong tortilla's being used on our wraps, and I would say the filling while OK was skimpy. My wife also had to tell the staff to put on plastic food handling gloves after they went to make the wrap after working the cash register. Overall I would rate Chipotle better. Oh how I long for a Bay Wrap... Summer staple for me, whether its the To Thai For or Da Big Juan, or any other interestingly named concoction (for when I want to switch it up). Delicious, healthy wraps (especially if you ask for minimal rice) and perfect for take-out orders. Love this place so much. The food gets 5 stars, but their hours are a bit annoying--closed at 7pm every night--not everyone wants to eat dinner by 6:30pm. And unless its summer you won't find them open on Sundays. My only other complaint is that the "winter menu" includes a few interesting wraps (carnita's way and the Moroccan roll) which aren't available starting in May -- total bummer. Also the reasons I deducted one star. If only this rating system allowed for half stars, Bay Wrap would have a big 4.5 read more

We ran across this great little sandwich/wrap cafe on our drive through Belfast. It is not on the typical tourist path and is frequented by a lot of the locals. We went in for coffee and walked around the wharf long enough that we went back for lunch. First I must say my coffee was delicious! I failed to remember the names of the wraps my husband and I ordered, but both were salmon wraps. His had salmon, avocado, and some veggies that balanced the richness. He gave it a thumbs up, 4/5. Mine was an odd, but great combo of salmon and egg salad with a robust stone ground mustard. 4/5 as well. You might be able to look at the menu and nail down exactly what we ordered. We also ordered the fish chowder. It was rich and not overly creamy. (I like my chowder base to be a little thin, not overly thick) It was a nice balance. The owner is personable and we talked with him a good bit about everything, BUT politics. Lol! Eat here if in Belfast. It won't satisfy your longing for lobster, but if you are tired of the tourist-like eating then have a wrap! read more

Ive been coming to Bay Wrap for years since my job takes me there a few times a month. Ordered my "go to" Wrap for lunch today and got the worst wrap by far since coming here. Ive noticed it was smaller in size, it now is close to $13 a wrap and hardly had any sprouts/chicken. Too Thai For doesnt even taste the same anymore compared to what it did even a year ago.
