The dinner rolls were on the sweet side - which made them extra delicious in my opinion! The Ceasar salad and coleslaw were pretty typical as far as diner sides are concerned. We loved this place! Wow! What a treat! The ambiance was perfect. Just right for a seafood restaurant. Our server, who never introduced herself, was great and efficient. She brought me Diet Coke instead of Coke. Twice. But probably better for me. The clam chowder is a bit thin and light on the clams, but delicious. My lobster and side salad were truly excellent. They only had one lobster when there was three of us wanting the lobster meal. The waitress kinda shrugged it off like oh well, it's 3:30 on a Monday and you expect us to have what you want? we were charged for unlimited drinks but sat with empty glasses until we left. No offers of refills. They could have offered a free appetizer or dessert to share for the lobster debacle. As usual it was chilly and not welcoming. very disappointing to say the least. Anglers service is fantastic - the waiters/waitresses there are so friendly and nice! The problem is.... It's the food. Everything that is fried needs one. little. thing. Salt! They don't put any seasoning in their fried food! It is very bland, and you find yourself pouring out half a salt shaker on it before you can eat it. But their spicy mussels are delicious and I would definitely recommend those. All in all it's a decent place to eat, but I wouldn't necessarily highly recommend it either. read more

We went here two nights in a row. It came recommended to us by our innkeepers and we could not have been happier. Feta encrusted salmon? YUM! Fried clams? FRESH! the food was good, the drinks were good, and the deserts...well, they're homemade and delicious too! I had the Lemon Marscapone cake, and my hubby had the Toll house pie a la mode. Portions are plentiful, with an exhaustive list of nightly specials, and a wide variety of home made desserts. Anglers has diners throughout the day, and the waitstaff will likely offer you some great guidance. Affordable beers and excellent "land lover" fare if you're not looking for seafood. It disheartens me to read a one-star review for Anglers, simply because they came in 5 minutes before closing, and expected service when the reviewer themselves said there were 100+ diners in the restaurant. Restaurants are struggling due to staffing issues during the pandemic. Servers are still struggling to make ends meet. I've watched Searsport struggle for years and while I'm optimistic about its return, bringing down a small town restaurant's Yelp rating by posting a negative review (when you didn't even eat there), is unfair and lacks sympathy towards the waitstaff. It makes people think they should just skip it, eat somewhere in Belfast and Camden (or keep going down Route 1). Servers have lives back home they need to get return to, whether it's taking care of a family member/child, or getting to another job, and the work doesn't end when the last patron leaves the restaurant. If you're going to come in 5 minutes before closing time, you should have just ordered takeout ahead of time instead. read more

I ordered the fish and chips special ($9.99) and after one bite, I could tell the thin piece of fish was not fresh although the batter was crispy. The "broiled" haddock ($22) that came out was also thin and not broiled. Just dull beige fish on a plate. The frozen broccoli was unimpressive and was not eaten. Around us, other diners were immediately offered rolls upon sitting down -- while we were offered none (and we are very nice and polite!) With such a large variety of items on the menu, maybe it was unrealistic to expect better seafood on the coast of Maine. read more
