The shish tawook and chicken shawarma (we tried both to compare since they are somewhat similar) are both incredible, a hefty meal for an affordable price, hearty while still feeling fresh and not greasy. We got a side of tabbouleh and it was SO fresh and bright, I loved putting a bit on each bite of my wrap. To top it off, they gave us some dolmas for free, and those were so good too!! Lemony and herby and a great texture. I loved that it seemed to be a family affair with multi generations in the food truck, too. What a gem at the Domain, seriously. I have been to Morocco and Israel but had never had shawarma fries before. The owner said he came up with shawarma fries himself last year. Think kimchi fries but with heaping portions of beef shawarma, pickles, tomatoes and tahini sauce instead. Brilliant idea! For $9, the portions were generous. I am hooked on shawarma fries! When I read that a Lebanese lady on Yelp gave this max stars I had to try it. It.is.amazing! Chicken sharma like I've never experienced it. Hummus to die for. Tabouli, never been my favorite, but that always makes me suspicious I haven't had something done the right way. The Lebanese lady said it was "great, like mom makes," so I went for it. I'm so happy to have found this place. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the shish-tawook wrap and I have to say it's the best wrap I've ever had. Portion was great, meat was tender and flavorful and the crisp toasted wrap really just elevated everything in it. The rose lemonade is amazing as well. There are many great Mediterranean places around the domain area but this has earned the #1 spot on my list. I can't wait to go back and try all the other dishes on the menu. Best falafel in Austin! Seriously you must try this place. My husband ordered it and I wanted a bite. Which lead to another bite which lead to me trying to finish it. Then asking why had he not ordered another one for himself. Yes this happened, I tried to eat the whole thing. At this point I needed a drink and had the hubby get us both some rose lemon aid. Oct 2014: Shish-Tawook is as good as it gets.What do you do if you're in Austin and it's about 10pm? No car and not sure if places around is open. Luckily my handy dandy yelp app told me there's food near me. Alright so let me describe the scene. We walk across the street, there was lights strung from one side to the other. We see about three to four food trucks and some other types of trucks. There was a live band and only about a few people sitting around listening. The whole area was new to me. Tables in the middle surrounded by trucks. One truck was a barber shop. The other was italian ice. I'm used to the trucks that rolls around from town to town. But these are stationed here all day every day. People brought their own beer and wine and pretty much just enjoyed the food and the free music show. So we walked up to Beirut. I was thinking okay this place is like Mediterranean ish. So of course first thing I saw was the wraps. We end up ordering the Chicken with pita and it was called the Shish Tawook. I'm not sure what the chef did but this was super delicious. I was amazed with the flavoring and the juiciness flowing from the chicken. The next day I was definitely up for eating it again. But guess what? Because of ACL they took off the menu. I was bit sad about that, but hey at least I got to try it the first time around. read more

We stopped here for lunch yesterday--tried a previous time but their posted hours were incorrect. The two women running the truck were pretty unfriendly, especially the one taking orders. She was curt and acted as though we were doing her some grand honor of eating at the truck. When we asked about the rose lemonade, she said "yeah, we mix it." Um ok, that sounds really appealing! And then she made a production about getting us some napkins. So not so much going on with customer service here. The food, for the most part, is good. As Israelis, we have always maintained that Lebanese food is the best in that region of the world, and while this truck doesn't live up to that standard, it will scratch your Mediterranean itch. We got the shawarma (beef) fries and the veggie platter to share. The fries were great and topped to the extreme with solid tahini and a decent amount of meat. On the veggie plate, we loved the baba ganoush and the falafels were seriously *amazing*. Hummus was OK. The tabbouleh was completely oversoaked (likely an older batch) and half of it was the watered drown dressing. The pita was that dry, flat nasty version that comes from a bag. Head-to-head with TLV, TLV is far better with quality, but this place is superior for value. We'd come back again at some point and will hopefully find some friendlier service then. 3 stars for now. read more

Everything is a win for this place! The online ordering system exemplifies ease and convenience! They had the order waiting for me when I arrived! They demonstrate generosity in their portion sizes! I ordered the hummus and I had enough for a snack AND leftovers for tomorrow. I don't remember ever having leftovers from a food truck! Furthermore, I have money left over! I love the location. I feared I would have to walk to the end of the Domain, but, nope, they operate at the beginning of the Domain. Thus I got to retrieve my order and leave the Domain without wasting time before my next errand. Fresh and delicious = their hummus! Some places make you buy pita bread in addition to buying hummus, but not them! They provide pita bread with their hummus! The best middle eastern food I've had, by far. The flavors are so immaculately spot on it's like throwing a dozen darts in a row and they all hit bulls eye. It's beautiful. And Oh My God the creamy garlic sauce, can I get a jar of just that and eat it on its own? I'll deal with the breath later. Having traveled in the Middle East I've had a taste of the regional variances and nuances, and I've also had way too many "Americanized" versions of foods to compare. This is quick, authentic and handy and the owners are a great couple that care about their customers. Absolutely worth a stop for the beef, chicken or lamb, and the sides/salads/hummus are an order of magnitude better than store bought. Austin's shawarma / gyro game got a lot more competitive recently and Beirut is definitely one of the front runners. In fact, they're my current favorite. First, they are a trailer in the domain if that wasn't obvious and they did raise their prices since most of the menu photos were taken. Don't let that stop you. Initial exposure to Beirut was from a delivery order sent to my wife and I as part of a "meal train." I love all things new and exciting and this was just that. Even delivered, food was fresh and good. Of course the hummus and baba ganouje was good as was the chicken shawarma and gyro wraps. Also they use the thinner Lebanese (?) pita which I'm partial to. One thing that sets them apart is that they put pickled veggies and French fries in their shawarma. Yeah. It happened. The acid of the pickles adds a fresh pop to the wrap and the fries are a welcome addition as well. If you're stuck in your pita-rut or just want to try something new, definitely check out Beirut. Lebanese food so good it reminds you of your babas family home. My father is Lebanese, so when i don't have family from out of state visiting and cooking all the deliciousness at my place. It is a generous plate of beef, Lamb and chicken with grilled tomatoes and onions, all on top of a large flat pita. It can feed two people easily. I highly recommend this plate. LOVE this trailer! We've been frequenting Beirut since it was located off of Barton Springs Road, and couldn't be happier to now have it closer to our 'hood. It's located in the Domain, right in front of iPic, so plenty of outdoor seating. Everything is great, but really love the shish tavuk wrap (with french fries inside!), lamb wrap, and tabouli. This Lebanese food truck offers a simple menu. Pretty much the entire menu is based off of Shish-tawook (Lebanese-seasoned chicken) and shawarma (Lebanese-sesaoned steak bits) pita sandwiches and platters. Even the rest of the menu is based off of these two items. And the verdict? The shawarma sandwich was good. I just don't think it was very good, but it was well-prepared. My suggestion would be to find a way to get the tabbouli and cold vegetables placed in the shawarma in a way that it would not chill the pita bread. The thing to get here though seems to be the shawarma fries (fries topped with shawarma meats) - it seems like everyone was getting one of these.
