You get your own space for the scheduled time. You can customize the light color, increase the temp if preferred (though I found the default temp comfortable), and use the iPad they provide to watch or listen to something. I had spa / nature music on and the speakers were positioned well to create the most immersive ambiance. I left feeling so relaxed. The whole space was super clean! They've got showers, different light therapies, and even a social sauna. I definitely recommend this spot for anyone curious about infrared sauna!

I went to Portal for a lululemon event with some friends and absolutely loved the experience!…read more From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest front desk associates who were happy to answer any questions. I was immediately impressed by the amenities. There's a large locker area to store your belongings, complimentary face towels, changing rooms, and two spacious bathrooms with showers stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also have a separate area to get ready with sinks and mirrors with great LED lighting--perfect if you want to shower, do your makeup, or blow-dry your hair before heading out for the day. There's also a small lounge area where you can purchase drinks. I tried the jalapeño lime drink and LOVED it. It was so refreshing and perfect for staying hydrated between sauna sessions. The thermaculture space itself made me feel like I had been transported somewhere completely outside of Minnesota. There's so much greenery, the decor is beautiful, and the entire space has such a tropical, relaxing vibe. Even the smell of incense added to the experience--it honestly felt invigorating for all the senses. There are multiple large saunas, showers where you can rinse off between sessions, and a cold plunge that's big enough for several people to use at once. The saunas were surprisingly spacious too--I could easily see around 15 people fitting comfortably in one. I visited on a Monday and there was a steady flow of people throughout our time there, but it never felt overly crowded. I also love that Portal is nestled into a shopping center, so it would be easy to make this part of a day out, run errands nearby, or grab something to eat afterward. Such a fun and unique experience. I already want to come back for a wellness day with some girlfriends!

The cold plunge pool is 45 degrees. I walked across it and out immediately. Nice to cycle through hot and cold. There's an outdoor lounge space to sit in the sun with a book or refresher. We went kayaking afterwards at Bde Maka Ska basically across the street. Next time I'd add in a sushi lunch at Wakame next door.

Most of the showers, along with the salt scrub, are in the communal spa-pool area, so be prepared for that--although a few private showers are also available. The dry sauna and steam room are off to one side, and a separate room with loungers provides space to rest and relax. A group of women was chatting in the lounge, but they remained there while I enjoyed the spa pools in peace. It was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely return. Enjoy!

The staff were very helpful in explaining everything, as this was my fiancé and my first time here. We booked the bath experience, which was the most basic but a great place to start. It included soaking in the large warm tub, steam room, and sauna, as well as the cold plunge. We left feeling so incredibly relaxed. We bought a bag of their tea as well because it was that delicious. The facilities were very clean! Weekend parking in the neighborhood is free and we were there late on Sunday, so plenty of spots! This is the perfect way to reset after a hard week. We will be back!!!

Embrace North is a mixed bag for me. I had a subscription for around three and a half months and I…read morecan say it has its ups and downs. Some of the positives are the community. I met so many interesting people here and it can be really fun. It is also pretty inclusive and I met a wide range of people from different ages and backgrounds. The hot sauna is also really nice and relaxing. Some of the cons are the availability. This place can get very packed and the slots book up super fast. It can be frustrating because there were times when it felt impossible to get in since everything was fully reserved a week in advance. Considering it is almost forty bucks a month it is reasonable, but if you can only make certain times that never line up, you end up feeling like why do I even have this membership. Another issue is the cleanliness of the ice tubs. I noticed many times that the tubs looked a bit dirty on the inside. When I say dirty, I mean kind of gross, maybe even unhygienic. At the beginning of every month they do a full deep clean, which I really appreciate, and right after that the tubs look pretty good. But as the weeks go on they get dirtier, probably because of the heavy traffic. This bothered me because when I go in for a cold plunge and see skin flakes, hair, or random stuff floating in the water, it makes the experience unpleasant. I also got some acne on my back during the time I was going here, especially when I was doing the cold plunge often. Now that I have not gone for a couple months the acne has fully disappeared. I am sure they have a chlorine and cleaning system, but I think the tubs need to be cleaned more often. The cold plunge setup itself is cool though and I did enjoy using it as far as the temperature experience goes. They have three main saunas inside the building. One is the quiet sauna, but it does not stay that quiet since it is between the two louder saunas. I wish they had a better way of keeping it quiet. The other two are a smaller sauna facing the tubs and a large one in the back. All of them get pretty hot which I really appreciate and they smell really good. I am not sure if it is essential oils or something else, but the scent is relaxing. They have a changing room, a bathroom, and lockers for your stuff. The service is OK. Some of the employees seemed like they did not want to be working, at least during my visits, while others were super nice and outgoing. It seems like it depends on the day, but you do not interact with the staff that much anyway so it is not a huge factor. They charge you if you want to use one of their towels, but I recommend bringing your own. They have quick showers to rinse off, and I almost wish people used them more considering you are going from a hot sauna straight into the ice bath. Sometimes it feels like people just jump between everything without rinsing, which is kind of gross. I am not sure how they can fix this without staff stepping in. I recommend trying Embrace North for at least a month. If it is not for you, it is forty bucks and you probably will still get some good use out of it.

Sauna is a centuries-old Finnish tradition rooted in respect, community, and restoration--not a gimmick. Even more disturbing is the owner's refusal to directly address questions about Nazi insignia. I would not support this business.

Ive tried one other float place in the cities and it just didn't even come close to being as great as this place. I'll be honest, I used to go to their original location and still bummed they relocated farther away from me. So I no longer buy the monthly pass option (which is SO worth it). The difference between this place and the other one I've been to in Roseville areas is there is something about the water solution here that my body seems to respond better to.
