It was also my first time trying this particular type of well was treatment so I I have nothing to compare it to. I booked a 90minute float therapy session Good: Made a last minute appointment and was able to get in so I loved that. The front desk staff was nice when welcoming me. They also have a vending machine that sells THC beverages which was nice. They encouraged me to use the bathroom which was very clean and well stocked. Then essentially explained what to expect while in the room and pretty much left me alone. That was nice. The not so good: An even better experience would have been to offer robes before going into the float room or something to get guest more relaxed before going into the tank. Or maybe a glass of cold water. I understand wanting to control water intake but it gets pretty warm in the room and you get thirsty! There was no soap available and you are required to shower before getting into the tub. I didn't realize what was in the shower was shampoo and conditioner because they weren't labeled. They give you a thing to support your head while floating but I think providing goggles or some sort of eye protection would have been epic. Maybe someone more seasoned would have know to bring something but it was my first time. So of course I got salt in my eyes. Very uncomfortable. There was also no sort of lotion for after the session I did ask about it and was told they had a shipment delayed and so they didn't have any of the things you'd expect to be standard at a spa. While I understand. It would have been a good idea to include a care note or something to give a head up. That was disappointing In summary. I didn't have a bad time or a great time. It was just okay. The float therapy itself was good but I think the business missed the mark on the pre and post care for me.

The back massage was done very well and helped reduce tension. The therapist was attentive and…read moreprofessional. The room felt a bit cool, but overall it was a good experience.

The staff were very helpful in explaining everything, as this was my fiancé and my first time here. We booked the bath experience, which was the most basic but a great place to start. It included soaking in the large warm tub, steam room, and sauna, as well as the cold plunge. We left feeling so incredibly relaxed. We bought a bag of their tea as well because it was that delicious. The facilities were very clean! Weekend parking in the neighborhood is free and we were there late on Sunday, so plenty of spots! This is the perfect way to reset after a hard week. We will be back!!!

The warm water pool and sauna are definitely the highlights - so relaxing! If you're looking for a relaxing escape, this is it! They had a little relaxing room where you could go if you got too warm (it's very hot and hard to breathe in the main bathhouse area) which included an area to meditate and rest/nap. They do not allow any speaking, even whispering, so it's definitely not a spa environment to catch up in! I do think a few things could be altered to further improve the bathhouse experience, though! There's a very small hallway where all the lockers, changing rooms and bathrooms are, as well as the only place to come or go. It's very cramped and makes it hard to maneuver in or out. There are only two bathrooms in the bath house, and they also double as the showers which did impact the practicality of getting ready afterwards. Additionally, I would recommend improving the flow between massage and bathhouse since you have to carry all of the items you came in with down a set of stairs in a robe. With the word "spa" in the name, I expected a traditional spa experience where I was given a locker and a robe before my service rather than getting a massage right out of my street clothes.

The temps vary as to be expected but I like that they have varying levels of heat to choose from. I also like that the cold plunge is not below 40 degrees...it's healthier for women to be more around 50 degrees so it's basically in the middle which is perfect. The aesthetics here are gorgeous and calming...love it.

What better way to reinvigorate yourself than with a nice sauna. I was in town and hanging out with my older son. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We arrived first thing in the morning. There were already several other people there. After signing the waivers and giving our contact info, we got suited up to go inside the sauna area. The place is well designed, spacious, with some chill music playing. There are three saunas, hot, hotter, and a wood one outdoors. There is also a plunge pool inside. The first thing I noticed is that most people there are outwardly friendly. And you quickly realize that you are now part of the Thermoculture. People are polite, interested in your experience, and eager to help you onboard. When they suggested that a trip through the plunge pool would do me good, I was sure that was never going to happen and said so. But in the next hour, I did the sauna rotation while also including the plunge pool, walking from one end to the other. Maybe next time I will actually take the plunge and go all the way under. My one disappointment and criticism is that the wood fired sauna never got hot enough for actual use. Perhaps they need to start the fire sooner so it gets up to temperature for early morning customers. Maybe next time!

It was easy to schedule, and the front desk person was friendly while giving me a tour. Isometric classes are about 40 minutes, but the cardio classes (yes, there are bikes and rowers IN the sauna pods) are only 15 minutes. The website says that is because they are basically twice as effective a room-temperature class, so you can do one sauna class in half the usual time. I did an isometric class, so I can't speak to the cardio experience, but I have never sweat more, not even in hot yoga. The provided mat and towel did their job, though, and it wasn't slippery at all. You reserve a time in a particular pod, and pick a specific pre-recorded class. The iso classes seemed to be one-person-per-pod as I walked by, but the cardio pods each had 3 bikes or 3 rowers in there, so you could be with other people. I could definitely feel my muscles burning, even though the exercises were slow and with minimal weight. I followed the instructions and drank a ton of water the rest of the day, but I did feel very good afterwards. Energized yet calm at the same time. Maybe I really did sweat out all of the negative vibes for the day (*shrugs*). I was happy to see a traditional free weights area with rack, so you could do extra exercises if you wanted to. The gym is 24 hours (not staffed the whole time, but members have access), which is definitely a nice perk, and the price is really reasonable (only $60/month for a basic membership). There are gyms with fewer amenities that charge that much, and this place was super nice. I would definitely go again and try a different workout, and would even consider this as a primary gym membership option.

This is a small fitness center which specializes in sauna workouts. Most of the space in this gym consists of actual saunas (although the weight-training area is quite well-appointed). There are two types of workout sessions that can go on in the saunas: isometric workouts like yoga and Pilates ("Hot Yoga", "Hot Warrior", etc.), and cardio workouts like exercise bike routines and rowing machine routines ("Hot Cycle", "Hot Thunder", etc.). Each sauna has a monitor with a virtual fitness instructor coaching you through a specific, well thought out session. Because these workout sessions are in for-real-hot saunas, they are INTENSE. But also for that reason, they are shorter than a normal comparable workout. You get more workout in less time, and the heat negates the need for extended pre-workout stretches. This is literally the only gym membership that has ever worked for me. I have visibly lost weight and my overall health and energy level have improved dramatically. Every other time I've tried a workout regime, it was always tempting to find excuses not to do it. But I am always excited for my Hotworx sessions. I look forward to my scheduled sessions and I always feel energized afterward. (Maybe not RIGHT afterward because at the end of the session I am an absolute mess... but that's how I know I'm doing it right!) These workouts are challenging, every time, but they are just doable enough that I know I'll be able to get through it. And there are modifications you can make to fit your abilities for each program, so if it seems impossible, make an adjustment that works for you. I have more details in my original review, and also I've left several tips in that section of the app. But after six months and probably about a hundred sessions, I can attest that Hotworx delivers on its promise, and I am a healthier and happier person than I was six months ago.
