This is a great climbing and strength gym located on the outskirts of Downtown Minneapolis. I am particularly impressed with their kid's section; I have been a member of other climbing gyms, and none had an awesome kid-specific areas like this gym does. Our four-year-old absolutely LOVES coming here to climb, and the cool shapes, the tunnel, and the slide all make it a great experience for her. On the other side of the gym, I am super impressed with their fitness section. They have everything a powerlifter or olympic lifter could want, including racks, bumper plates, and even a GHD. My only minor complaint is they do not offer a true family membership; for my family of four to join, the cost would be almost $100 more per month than the gym we used in California. Otherwise, this is a great gym.

Brought the kids here to start off their spring break and glad I did. Loved the youth area which is equipped especially for kids with appropriate bouldering and a slide. The kids had so much fun. There are swag items available for purchase as well as a small selection of quick bites and drinks. Pricing seemed reasonable as well. This was sort of hidden but in an amazing location with plenty of space to get your climb on! Parking was a bit of a challenge but we eventually found something

We have been going to this gym for years! Me 3+ years and my husband 8...or when it first opened. This is the first place where I learned bouldering and has become my favorite sport of all time. The coloring system indicating different levels (typically VB through V 17) makes it easier for people to learn and not as intimidating. There are different sections in the gym, such as slab, overhang, top out islands so everyone can find their style. Every once in a while, they will have competition routes for people to try and have fun on them. Although the gym is a great option, we often prefer outdoor climbing bouldering and top rope. We think that the bouldering holds are not super realistic to outdoors but more a fun recreational activity- which is still bouldering but if you are training for outdoors I personally would go somewhere else for training. Throughout the year, the bouldering project host, different events, such as the biggest event of the year Boulder Fest. There are activities packs through all weekend, long and competition where you can go and watch. It has been fun to cheer on our local climbers. Besides the bouldering part. There are yoga studios and a full gym available as well as locker rooms, showers and saunas. Once you are a member, you can go to any of the classes offered as many times as you want my personal favorites are Pilates, yoga, and circuit training. Over the years my husband and I have used their sauna very very well. They do provide towels, though they had to pause during Covid but now towels are back. My only complaint about the sauna is that it doesn't get very hot and you cannot pour water on it to create steam. It's what got me through some colder months here in Minneapolis, so I am beyond thankful for it!!

Are you ready for a new indoor adventure? All ages and ability levels are welcome at the MBP. After paying your admission fee and completing a waiver, you are given climbing shoes and access to free lockers for personal items. Climbers are directed to use the color maps to determine what level of climbing to attempt. Beware, as a beginner this proved to be difficult! I stayed within the beginner climbs but there are many advanced options. Overall, the space is very colorful and safe with mats under every surface. I can see all ability levels thriving here with the chose your own adventure layout!

Had a blast at MBP. Really fun environment to climb in, music throughout the gym and it was packed! Route setters made fun and thought provoking climbs.

I bouldered twice before in another gym; therefore, my review of the Minneapolis Bouldering Project is in comparison to my previous experience. I would give this place 4.5 stars, but my rating shows 5 because we can't give .5 ratings. My overall experience was fantastic and I wanted to compliment one of their employees. However, there are two feedbacks that could be potentially improve upon: 1) The initial smell was unpleasant upon entering the bouldering gym, it smelled like dirty feet in old locker rooms, but it becomes less noticeable as you equilibrate to the smell of the environment. 2) The air ventilation could be improved because the chalk dust remained in the air of the gym and could be seen in the air. The staff at this gym are super friendly. Kaitlyn (might have spelled her name wrong) took the time to explain the safety rules, gave my group of friends a short tour, provided recommendation on which climbing hold to start on, and allowed my group borrowed her chalk bag for free! She was extremely kind and even came to check up on my group to see how we were doing and asked if we had questions. This gym is different from other bouldering gyms because the level of difficulty is not numbered but is represented by colors, this helped me in being more open to trying different climbing holds. Also, it decreased the intimidation of trying a climbing hold with a number that is associated with higher difficulty.

Such a cool place with so much to climb and offer! Locker rooms, showers, fitness gym, sauna, never ending climbing, and such a cute ambiance. Day pass lasts all day. We went to Pryes after and definitely thought about coming back for more. Will definitely visit again!

I was very nervous my first time walking through the door at MBP. I was quickly greeted my friendly and knowledgeable staff that put my mind at ease and trained me on the basics of bouldering... which included, the correct way to fall. A very important basic skill to learn, because, yes.. you will fall. In the most excellent ways. You will challenge yourself in so many ways here, you will fall, get back up and do it again, all with a smile on your face.

Beautiful space and super warm and welcoming community . I'd say a must try for anyone curious. Free parking, reasonable pricing. Fun kids space, camps and party space! We brought our 1.5, 4 and 5 year old for a morning of play. It's a super relaxed (but safety focused) environment.

I'm a huge fan of yoga now thanks to Nordeast. The studio space itself is beautiful: hardwood floors, large windows that let in floods of sunlight, exposed brick...it's really perfect. In the evening, classes are naturally lit with the setting sun and candles. Each instructor has something very unique to offer. Classes range from higher levels in yoga ability to straight up beginner, some are more meditative, others are a fantastic blend of meditation meets a pretty intense (and satisfying) workout. I also appreciate the adjustments when I'm in a pose. I've taken both Annie or Christy's classes and both are absolutely wonderful yoga teachers. I also am a BIG fan of their music choices (what is up with yoga and bad music!?), especially Yoga a-Go-Go. Once a month, there's even metal yoga, and nothing says warrior 2 quite like Iron Maiden. Drop-In class prices are about $13, and you can also purchase monthly passes (with a bonus free beer at its completion!). Class times vary (and it's a one-studio space), so definitely check the schedule on their website to find the best class/time for you. Soooo yeah. Nordeast Yoga is amazing. Definitely check it out. You're welcome.

Lucky for me, I was able to come back a few weeks later for a people of color meditation session. Whaaaaaa!!! I didn't know they had such things! You get to the center and if it's not super busy you can park in the lot. For most of their bigger events or weekend meditation days you'll want to get there plenty early since it fills up fast. When you enter there are spots for your shoes (like a yoga studio) and coat hangers. They recommend you take any valuables with you or don't bring them since it not a monitored area. There are two meditation rooms on the first floor, one with a kitchen where you can get tea or water if there's not a session happening. The second is a large room where we had the people of color event. Chairs, blankets and cushions are provided so you don't have to worry about buying anything. The instructors and space are very welcoming. They have great ways to ground and connect everyone together quickly but also authentically. This place and it's participants are so approachable and its philosophy entirely undogmatic. I go to the Sunday morning 10:30 a.m. Dharma talks. If you're a Mama or Papa you can even bring your 1-8 year old to be part of the kids group while you get your Buddha on. The space is small, spare, and perfectly relaxing. Sit on a chair or cushion and choose to donate whatever amount you're comfortable with for all activities. They have any number of special issue groups, retreats, yoga, T'ai Chi, and even a program for teenagers. Mark is insightful without being at all preachy or superior. I LOVE that after the talk, participants ask questions regarding real world challenges they are facing in terms of integrating their practice into their daily lives. Somehow it manages to make that day's talk clearly applicable to everday life without feeling as though anyone is engaging in 'T.M.I.' or some sort of New Agey therapy group. I float out feeling much lighter and calmer!

Great location, good workouts, and nice facility…read more Right now, the Northeast studio can be a little difficult to get to because of all of the street construction, but the businesses are operating normally. YogaFit has a nice corner location on a slightly quieter street, so the studio feels private, but also has natural light from the windows. It offers traditional yoga, barre and more strength-focused classes, called Burn classes. The studio itself is very nice and clean, with well-maintained equipment and built-in ballet bars around the room. The bar and burn classes are typically 45-50 minutes long, and start with about 10 minutes of light stretching/warm up, and a 5-7 minute cool down. Aside from that, the instructors can create their own class plans, so you are never quite sure what muscle groups you will be focusing on that day. Burn features loud, up-beat music that you move to (it is cool to see the whole class moving in synchrony). The classes focus on repeating slower, controlled movements and on static holds, so you are mainly using lighter weights. I was definitely sore after a barre class that worked quads for a few sections, and we didn't even use weights for that one! So while I thought the class quality, instructors and facility were great (they have a fairly good distribution of class times, including early in the morning) it was hard to get a whole-body work out with just one class, due to time constraints. For example, really burning out the triceps requires time that can't be used for a different muscle group when you are only working for ~30 minutes of class time. Class plans are a little expensive, considering this might be an additional membership (this area seems pricey in general), though they do offer a discount if you sign up after the free trial week. They also have a run club that meets twice monthly at different locations. I would use these classes as an addition to another full gym membership, not as my only fitness method. Maybe if classes were a little longer they might be able to get more complete work in each time. So while it wasn't a perfect fit for me, it was still a lot of fun, and might be great for someone looking for an additional type of workout or who only needs light weights. Give it a try with their free trial week!
