I love this place...been coming here since I was a kid. The restaurant on rte 25 has better staff but the food at ALL Beef Villas puts Portillo's to shame any day of the week! Have been eating Gyros here for years. Perfectly seasoned, wrapped in European type Pita that has been toasted, great tzatziki sauce. The only minus tonight was the server put too much onion in my sandwich, easy enough to pull them out. The cheese fries are just OK as it is similar to velveta. The broasted chicken is amazing and has been for years. The only thing I would recommend not to EVER order is the Hot Dogs. They do not use Vienna Beef Hot Dogs which is what all perfect Hot Dog places serve. They serve Red Hot Chicago dogs which are "Chicago Style" and not authentic Chicago Hot Dogs. read more

When I walked in it smelled awful like a sewer back up. I almost left but I had purchased a Groupon and didn't want to waste it... Then I watched as the girl working the drive up took money from people in cars and then (without washing her hands) rearranged the chicken in our boxes with her bare hands. The service has gone down hill. stood to be waited on no one at register and the employee at drive up looked at us didn't call for help just looked at us and said nothing. There's no reason stopping at McDonalds with Beef Villa next door. While it's similar to other hot dog joints in the area, I've received consistently good food here- orders have always been correct, fresh, and hot. The cheese fries are a must, and the pizza puff is deep-fried to hangover perfection. We liked the burgers, very convenient, and certainly much better than the next door McDonald's: charbroiled, nice and smoky, cooked to order; wife liked the cheese fries. We have also had the Friday fish fry here: not all you can eat, it is haddock, breaded, fried in thin filets, it is just OK. They also have perch and shrimp. read more

I went here on 8/30/20 and made a $61.00 order only to finally get home and have half of my items missing. Not to mention there were two items in the bag that we didn't order which were incorrect. My husband called the restaurant to advise them of this Ans the woman pretty much said he was lying. Mind you they only gave us 1 bag of food for a $61 order which 1 small bag can't even fit all of the good in it. She girl didn't offer to give us the missing food but instead said to just bring the food back. I was super frustrated with her lack of customer service. My husband asked to speak to her manager and she said that she is the manager and didn't offer any additional service. My husband told her that we want a refund and we don't even want the food so we brought it back. Also, none of the employees are wearing face mask inside of beef villa. We have been coming to BV for many many years. Friday night will be our last. They NEVER get the order right. They try to be old school and call out orders and while its on a receipt, its never right. I spoke clearly and slowly in the drive through and we were the only ones there and they didn't get it right. I got not enough of something and too much of another. Place smells, we had a coupon for there 16 piece broasted chicken, Had a beef sandwich which was the worst I have ever had, Beef was dry as all hell, Edges looked like they had sat out all day, Kind of tasteless, The bread was hard, Even with the gravy on it, Just plain old. Had a bunch of teenagers working there, Must say they tried there best, But not up to my standards of a good place to eat. Got the chicken home, And sorry to say this, IT SUCKED !!!!!! If I could give no stars, I would. Once again they have proved to me that I shouldn't bother spending my money there. And yet I keep trying and give them another chance. My order this evening was a simple one - once again, did not get what I ordered And once again - the person taking the order / giving me my order - had a nasty attitude. When I asked for my receipt - since I didn't get a total when I placed my order - so that I could look at what I was being charged for - I was told it would be in my bag. What? I asked a simple request - you don't want me to know what you are charging me for? Now I know why - you were charging me for things I didn't get. Even tried adding other things onto it when I got up to the drive thru window - I assume was the person behind me. Time wise - too long. Doesn't take long to take a couple hot dogs and slap them into a bun - and to give me cold / old fries. For 20+ years, this was a great place to go to. But these past couple years, either the service was bad, the food was bad, we are being charged for things we didn't order, or we get attitude from the staff. I have been visiting Beef Villa in South Elgin for the last 16 years. Having a Portillo's open quite near my house I thought I would give it a try. No comparison. The beef sandwich at Beef Villa is by far the better sandwich and you get a lot more of it. I also love the broasted chicken! And the hot dogs are great, too. The broasted chicken in the best in the area. While we always enjoy the beef sandwiches, the broasted chicken is a real winner. We always order the chicken for parties/family gatherings and it is a real hit. If you pre-order it is always done on time and ready to be served when you get home. I try to find the coupon for the 16 piece and it is a money saver. I sometimes will have them add a few extra breasts, but is is still a very good value and everyone is pleased. read more
