Beef Shack cheeseburgers used to be the best, hot, delicious, and melt-in-your-mouth. But not anymore. We visited on May 14, 2026, at 7 p.m., and ordered four cheeseburgers and a large fry. The bun and toppings were fresh, but the burger meat was awful. It tasted like a frozen patty that had been cooked hours prior to our order and left to die in a warming tray. The meat was gray, cold, and rubbery, honestly reminding us of bad institutional food service. The fries are usually amazing, but these were dripping with grease. We only managed to eat three of the four cheeseburgers, and the fourth went straight to the trash. Beef Shack has definitely dropped off our list of go-to places to eat out. read more

Wow, the prices keep going up everywhere, huh? $19.31 for a single Cheezy Beef with sweet peppers, large fries, and a drink, plus an order of Shack Sauce. Luckily the portion sizes are huge, so that is enough for a couple to share, which is what my husband and I did. And it could have cost more since we ordered à la carte, but the cashier changed it to a meal deal. Other than the prices, I have no complaints - the food is delicious at all the Beef Shack locations, this one being no exception. There are never any chewy, fatty, inedible pieces of beef, unlike at Portillo's where you end up throwing half of it in the garbage, and the beef actually has seasoning on it! The bun isn't chewy like Portillo's either. Seriously, why is ANYONE eating Italian beef at Portillo's when this place exists? Blows my mind. We hadn't eaten at this particular location before; everything inside was clean, staff was courteous, and the outdoor seating area was clean and inviting. I'd probably skip the Shack Sauce moving forward because while good, it's really not necessary as the sandwich and fries are flavorful without. Even the replacement ones are not up to par but will pass. And Tuesdays should be renamed as $1 cold dogs. The dog itself wasn't even remotely warm and Beef Shack didn't offer to replace it. EMPLOYEES DON'T USE GLOVES!! I was sitting here with my family for dinner and we watched two employees handle the salad greens, hot dogs, and buns WITHOUT gloves - super disgusting. To add, one of them works the register as well and I can't imagine how dirty that is. As someone who has worked in food service, it's not hard to put gloves on and it is a BASIC food service safety rule. This is our favorite Beef Shack, although we like them all. We always eat inside at this location since it's very spacious. In the summer it's nice to eat outside when the weather cooperates. Very clean and uncluttered restaurant. All staff members were wearing their masks. Order and receiving of food was very quick. I ordered the Italian sausage combo meal which included fresh cut fries and a fountain drink. I also requested cheese for the fries and 2 cups of beef juice for my sandwich. I did not receive the additional cup of juice. The french fries were overcooked and brown on the outside while their senators were still on the Ross side. This made them taste more oil than crispy like a good french fries. The cheese sauce was very bland. Although the Italian sausage sandwich at sole was huge it was not very good unless you are a fan of A very large amount of fennel seeds. The side of juice they provided did not resemble any kind of Italian beef flavor. It also had a layer of orangish Grease that covered the first quarter inch of the juice. Waited over 8 minutes for someone to come to answer in the drive thru and there was no one in the store. Received food and it was very bad. Cheese for fries was ice cold. Fries were soggy and loaded with more salt than a Morton Salt factory. It was a bad experience. One more thing I noticed was the drive thru menu board had one price and the receipt (what was charged) was several dollars more on all items I ordered. Incredibly deceptive. I love a good Italian Beef sandwich. And this place is pretty close-by. I've found that beef sandwiches vary ...... greatly. Whether Beef Shack, the now defunct Zippy's, Buona, Portillo's ..... you really can't compare because they are so different. I do think Beef Shack is decent. The flavor is good and the fries are delicious, hand cut fries. LOTS of them too (I recommend sharing an order). Buona beef is a little spicy -- flavorful -- but I'm sure for some people, it might be a little too much -- Beef Shack is probably a better alternative for still having flavor, but not too much spices. Prices are a little high, but we haven't been disappointed the few times we have eaten here. And like I said - they are close-by to where we live, so it's nice to not travel too far when we want something to eat and aren't feeling up to cooking at home. read more
