The last 2 times i ordered pick up, A mature woman (over 30?) Was kind, professional and and perfectly friendly. This was refreshing. Since our first visits, which were ONLY to pickup some corndogs, we have ventured further into their menu items. THIS is SIGNIFICANTLY better than just a good "hot dog joint!" The menu items SEEM routine but the thought that has gone into these menu items completely won us over. When you order JUST GET IT AS DESCRIBED, because it certainly appears that great thought went into the selections. i am not posting pictures as there is no need. Everything looks the same as it does on the menu. read more

We were regulars under the old ownership- so todays visit was the first time we were trying with the new ownership. As always, when a restaurant you once loved gets new owners, you never know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The food tasted almost exactly like how I remembered. We got two cheese dogs, one with just cheese and ketchup and one with cheese, ketchup, mustard relish and tomato. We also got cheese fries and onion rings (onion rings not pictured). The portions are nice and a small order for the onion rings and cheese fry were the perfect size for my mom and I to split. The cheese sauce is not just an artificial nacho cheese and was the perfect compliment. The onion ring batter was not greasy and had the perfect crunch. The inside was clean and updated. This is the standard "hole in the wall" set up that is perfect for locals. It's not crowded with tables, since there are about 6 true booths and then higher tops along the back wall. I could imagine it may be difficult to find seating on a Friday or Saturday night when it's busier, so be prepared. The pricing is a little different than it used to be, but everything in the world is now more expensive so can't complain! That being said- the pricing isn't ridiculous, it was $26 for all our food and drinks. I'd say this is very doable considering the area we live in isn't super cheap. The service was quick considering the food is made to order and not just sitting out. We waited about 10 minutes for our food and that was with 3 orders in front of us. My only recommendations would be: 1. I wish when I checked out they would have told me the bun for the cheese dog is plain and not poppy seed. My mom ordered a Chicago style dog with cheese sauce so hers was poppyseed, whereas mine was just plain. The food was still tasty though so I'm not upset! 2. I wish the cheese sauce cup was just slightly larger but there was still a decent amount 3. I was a little confused upon arrival because the menu wraps around the front of the cashier- not a big deal, I just lacked awareness :) Overall, my food was great, the quality was there, I walked out full and satisfied and had a great experience! I will definitely be going back, which I'm glad about because this was once a family favorite and I'm happy to keep it that way! read more

The Dogfather - Cheese Dog, Chicago Style Hot Dog, Cheese Fries - Hot Dogs Near Me - Bartlett, Illinois

First visit under new ownership was pretty good. Basic order of a double dog, fries, and I think some totcha thing? Second visit not so good. The pros: The place looks nicer and just feels so much cleaner; the Barqs Red Creme Soda (IYKYK); non-poppy seed buns (those of us with health issues where we have to avoid seeds really appreciate this!), and the service was friendly and great. The cons: my jumbo dog was cold in that nice warm seedless bun - it was not lukewarm, it was *cold*; and the salad dressing was so skimpy it didn't even handle the full salad. The ok: the menu is a little overwhelming and not centered in one place so if you don't know what you want, you're kinda wandering around the counter back and forth...and the fries have potential to be amazing. I like these fries a lot flavorwise but they were lukewarm and those fries in particular kind of harden up when they're not hot anymore. So maybe an off day but when you don't get hot dogs all too often, and were looking forward to getting one all day...biting into a cold one is really pretty cruddy. But as i was driving home, going back wasn't an option. Anyways I suggest you try them out, and when you do - even though it's the same Place with some of the same Menu, give them a fresh chance and a clean slate. I have no doubt after some time they'll get more consistent. read more

The Dogfather - You can't find this too many places in this area and it's a reason I'll use to go back! - Hot Dogs Near Me - Bartlett, Illinois

My family and I have been eating food from the dog father for a few years now. We don't live real close to the Bartlett location, so my family usually picks up the food and brings it home, which is great! However, today we went in there to enjoy a couple of hotdogs. I was so impressed with how clean this hotdog stand is! Since it was a little slower because it was a Sunday Kate was cleaning everything ! she was also very kind and professional So if you have not eaten at this hotdog place yet you must ! read more

Had the Tijuana dog. Fabulous. Workers were very polite and patient with my questions as I ordered. Nothing more one can ask. Thanks!

Part of me wants to say it's unfair to compare the current incarnation of Dogfather to the original...new ownership and a new menu so I shouldn't expect it to be what it always was. That said, after a few visits since the place reopened, and I find that our household doesn't look forward to our visits to Dogfather the way we used to. Our go-to order has always been the Cheesy Beef + breaded mushrooms for my wife, hot dog and cheese fries for my kiddo and the chicken pita for me. Plain hot dogs are awfully hard to mess up, so those are fine. The cheesy beef is still dependable enough to keep us from making the slightly longer drive to Beef Shack. The cheese fries are pricier, but not quite as good. The breading on the mushrooms is too salty and a little soggy. After trying the chicken pita, I've opted not to order anything the last couple of times I've been in to pick up food for my wife and kiddo. It is not that the food is bad, and I am glad to have a local place with decent food. But with prices being what they are these days, the price of the chicken pita is just too much for something that I don't enjoy and can't help but compare to what it used to be. We will still order here -- I want to support local businesses over the chains when we can. I just wish the local place was a little better than "just fine". read more

I have been here one other time. I think it was under different ownership but today the cashier here is very lackadaisical in attitude. The food was pretty subpar. I mean, I really didn't like anything and I remember the last time I went here, It was delicious, but it was nice to stop again but I won't return The food isn't that great to want to make me return the prices are decent, but the food is just bland Cause it was absolutely freezing in there to the point I was getting goosebumps and I couldn't wait to leave read more

Reasonably priced fare, always good fries. Food is made as you order. A neighborhood favorite! read more

Don't get me wrong, the food is amazing. Before dogfather got bought out, it was my fav restaurant bc of good food with a cheap price. hotdog tuesday was 99 cents each, and 1.99 on a regular day. Now, it's $3.50 for a SINGLE hot dog, and $2 on hotdog wednesday. everything on the menu is the same, just more expensive. i'm tired of these companies money grabbing any way they can. I won't be coming here anymore. very sad, but I refuse to pay more than what it was originally for.oh and the place looks like a pet store read more

5 stars is usually reserved for some place higher end and expensive. But really loved the Italian Sausage with hot and sweet peppers, it was amazing!!! I will be back to this place. read more

I catered from here and the food was great. Everyone asked me several times where I got the food from. We had the Italian Beef, the chopped salad and Italian Sausage. The sausage was a bit spicy. Everyone raved about the beef and the chopped salad. Did not disappoint. Highly recommended. Will definitely cater from them again. We do frequent for dine in also. read more

Great Chicago hot dogs. Glad to know there is a place that sells great hotdogs near my home. Customer service is friendly and even when crowded, your food is delivered fairly quickly. Tuesdays are extra crowded because their dogs are one dollar. read more

Great food & friendly staff! I highly recommend their Italian beef and their bacon cheeseburgers

Been here a few times and never walk away impressed but usually it's good enough to come back. Stopped in close to close one evening and found the chairs already put up. (Guess we will take it to go). So the hotdogs were spot on and almost a dollar cheaper than Portillo's. Tuesday's are 99 cent days. Guessing it would be busy those nights. Chicken pitas had a chicken breast in them and were fine but the chicken was a little over cooked and you know what that means - dry. Fries were standard but certainly a large amount for the large size. Breaded mushrooms were not good though. Undercooked and not crispy fried. read more

Just catered a family summer party for 30 people and it couldn't have been easier. Hot dogs, Italian beef, mostaccioli, all the fixings - it was great! Very easy to place the order, even easier to setup when we brought it home due to how well organized everything was! Everyone loved the food - definitely will be coming back for future parties - thank you! read more

Excellent hot dogs! All the staff are friendly and very efficient! We love to go Tuesdays when it is half price hot dogs.

Great hotdog joint. Some items on the menu are unique but it's a good place. Been there several times already.

Great Chicago dog and the service was outstanding. I will definitely be going back whenever I'm in Chicago.

The food was really good, however our order was incorrect - we were missing an entire sandwich. Grubhub refunded the cost of the sandwich, but we were still a bit disappointed. We'll be back though, because even though it went though a long drive (and the delivery driver was late as well), everything was delicious. Next time we'll probably not order delivery and pick up our own food as it would be better hot. read more

I have to. Beef is good. Hot dogs are good and when they are half price, they tase even better!

The food has never been anything less than great. My family has been coming here for 8 years and we have always been treated great by the staff and enjoyed the food. Our family favorite are the hot dogs, and my personal is the Gyros. The young lady that served us tonight is a new hire and she is as bubbly and kind as you could hope for. She really made us feel welcome. On a side note, Mr. Passaro, the owner, took the time to speak with me and my son (a 4th grader) regarding business questions for my son's class project on successful, local area businesses. As a result, my son was thrilled and could not stop talking about how awesome it was to talk to him. @Dogfather: Thank you again for all that you do - thank you again, Mr. Passaro, for taking time out of an incredibly busy day to help my son with his project. Thank you for 8-years of awesome service and a fantastic product. read more

Best beef sandwiches in the area! I am so glad we discovered The Dogfather it is our new go to spot for a quick bite. This place rocks!

I know my business won't hurt this place, seeing that I only go there a few times a year. I will chose North of the Boarder over Dogfather any day now. Years ago I would here sometimes 3 times a week. Servers and quality back then were far better. I would like to blame my bad experience on short staff but this is not the case. Three years ago when I was a loyal frequent customer I would walk in the door and the line cook would start my order and it would be ready by the time I paid. That was great service. Today they can't prepare my order the way I asked. Then when I get home I find my sandwich falling apart. Very disappointed. read more
