Wow this was the most perfect experience. When you walk in, you are surprised to find that it's not just mac and cheese, there are also various cheeses to try and sample. We made a beeline to the ordering station. The employees were friendly. We ordered the standard Worlds Best mac and cheese. It is penne with a mix of a few different cheeses. It is a velvety smooth texture, not too stringy. The flavor is there. The pasta is properly salted. The ambiance was pretty crowded in there, but we still found a counter to stand at and eat the mac and cheese. There was a little cheese factory behind us that we had fun watching. Such a great experience and worth the hype!

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Their famous Mac and cheese was creamy, soft and had great cheese taste that wasn't too strong. Also got their flagship sandwich, which was their grilled cheese with tomato and basil. Super simple, but extremely tasty. Bread had a nice crunchy exterior and the inside was a perfectly gooey melted center. Would definitely stop by Beechers if you are ever in town.

"World's Best" mac & cheese - size small for $8.99

In Pike Place Market, where there is always a line for everything, Beecher's Homemade Cheese is one of the more popular places. We managed to get there on a rainy late afternoon before they closed so we didn't need to wait too long. I tried their "World's Best" mac & cheese. A small cost $8.99, which was high but not surprising considering this is Pike Place Market. It was very creamy, I will give them that, plus piping hot. Was it the "world's best"? No, I felt like it could have used more flavor to make it a little less bland. Next time I would try their kimchi grilled cheese or the smoked salmon mac & cheese. It's pretty neat to watch through the big window to see them separate the cheese from the curds and whey.

What is there to say about a place devoted to cheese? Perfect from every bite. We tried the Mac & Cheese along with the grilled cheese! Couldn't tell you which one I loved more, they were both cheesy perfection. We enjoyed watching the cheese process and trying little samples as well. It was busy with a line wrapped around the side of the building, don't let that yhe. You off, it moves fast and the food was made quickly as well.

Finally tried this place after I missed it last time! Very solid Mac and cheese! There is a line but it moves pretty quickly!

Ambiance: No tables to sit available, just standing room with counter space to quickly chow down your food. Food: The creamiest Mac and cheese!! The cheese has a very rich flavor, and definitely worth the 20 minute wait. Service: Counter order service. Friendly people.

Finally tried it out because the line wasn't ridiculously long like it usually is because it was the end of the night. Had the mac and cheese and I see why everyone fawns over it. I wish there were more mac and cheese flavor options. I will definitely try the sandwiches next time. Also wish there was seating. Watching them make cheese in the factory is super cool.

No food fascinates us quite like cheese, whether it's arranged on a beautiful platter, grated over pasta, or melted between two slices of bread. Cheese is a dairy product made by fermenting milk and draining off the excess liquid. Depending on the style, cheese can range in flavor from mild and sweet to savory and nutty to funky and pungent. It can be soft and spreadable, creamy and smooth, or firm and crumbly. It's been enjoyed in cultures around the world for thousands of years, and today, cheesemaking takes place on every continent except Antarctica. In Seattle's Pike Place Market, visitors to Beecher's Handmade Cheese have a cheese lover's dream come true. They watched a glass-walled cheesemaking kitchen firsthand on the crafting of their signature favorite, Flagship cheese, as well as many of the other award-winning cheeses when my partner, his family, and I visited in July. To our surprise, there was no wait when we arrived, which was unexpected given how popular this place is. Bite sizes of Flagship and Marco Polo cheese were available for samplings. From the very first bite, we were hooked by its rich, creamy texture and perfectly balanced flavors. While there is no dine-in option, it's strictly a pickup spot. Surrounded by the lively buzz of locals and tourists, visiting this establishment feels like a quintessential Seattle moment.

Chicken and Mama Lil's Peppers Sandwich

Place seems like it's always packed. Ordered the chicken and pepper sandwich and a small mac & cheese. Both were delicious. Both were a little pricey. While you wait in line or wait for your food order, you could watch them make fresh handmade cheese. This specific location is in the center of the busiest touristy place in all of Seattle, Pikes Place market, so parking sucks. there isn't anywhere to sit inside, so everything is to go. Service was fast and friendly with all the sandwiches made to order. They also had a little market connected to it where you could buy prepackaged items as well.

So good!! I honestly don't think I've ever had mac and cheese this good before. Beecher's Handmade Cheese is right at Pike Place Market. There was definitely a line when I went. Don't let the line scare you away. It moves fairly quickly and it's absolutely worth the wait. The Mac and cheese was yummy. It was creamy, rich, and just so comforting. Tried their sandwich which went well with the Mac and cheese. Keep in mind that there's no dining area here and it's pretty much standing room only. Definitely a must try when visiting Pike Place Market.

Finally got to try beechers cheese and why I've never tried it sooner, I'll never know. The line may look long, but they filter you through pretty quickly. The original mac and cheese is to die for. I don't think I've had anything like it to be honest. Definitely a must when visiting the market.

Smoked salmon Mac and cheese
Lauren K.

I had a great experience at Beecher's over the weekend! While it was a bit much for me, I could see how a Mac and cheese lover would be in heaven. The smoked salmon Mac and cheese had a great flavor if just a tad salty, but it was filled to the brim! Every time they added another spoonful I thought that was it, but then they'd push it down and squeeze in even more food. The line moved very fast and it was easy to bring out to the pier to eat while staring out at the water.

Zoe G.

I've seen very mixed reviews on this place, but as a first time visitor and mac and cheese lover I had to try it for myself. I'll preface by saying I would not wait more than 15 minutes in line for this, but when we arrived at the market around 10am we saw there was no line and grabbed a cup for breakfast. I thought it was hot, comforting, rich, and cheesy. The noodles were a bit overcooked, but overall we really enjoyed it and would get it again if there isn't a crazy line. My only wish is that you could add bacon on top, I know Seattle is known for Salmon and that was an option, but it's a classic combo for a reason.

The only place to go for really good cheese. They do have a self service area if you walk in and avoid the lines.

I usually engage with someone at a restaurant snd ask for their advice or input when deciding what to order. Salumi is countertop screen or online order only. Staff are focused on making your sandwich and are available to answer questions, but the place gets very crowded and this won't always be possible. I love eggplant parmigiana and was delighted that the sandwich came with a (warm!) cup of marinara. The marinara was a generous portion, a tad spicy, and I soaked up every drop. The sandwich roll was good, average. The toppings were tasty, and sufficient. The eggplant itself was a bit disappointing. The breading was perfectly crispy and light, but the eggplant was sliced so thinly that it was almost an eggplant flavored chip instead of the customary meaty texture. The balance was just off, unfortunately.. Recommend ordering online because this place gets crowded during the lunch rush.

DUOMO PINK! 4.8…read more The restaurant can be a little tricky to find, tucked away in an alley with no signage to guide you. It felt a bit like hunting for a hidden restaurant or speakeasy, with both of us keeping our eyes peeled for the elusive "pink" door. I had imagined a bright, eye-catching pink, but the actual door was a soft, milky pink set against a gray building. I later learned that its color was inspired by the tiles of the Duomo in Florence, Italy. We had reservations and arrived early, just before the restaurant opened for lunch. Two lines were already forming: one for guests with reservations and another for walk-ins. As the minutes passed, the walk-in line grew exponentially. I distinctly remember thinking, 1) This place must be really good, and 2) Thank goodness we made reservations! Once inside, I was surprised by the restaurant's sheer size and variety of dining spaces, each with its own personality and vibe. The options included a lounge and bar area featuring a rotating lineup of scheduled performers/musicians, several indoor dining rooms, and an al fresco dining area on the view deck overlooking the bustling street below, Pike Place Market, and Elliott Bay. We dined in one of the indoor dining rooms, which was bathed in natural light. Seated beside one of the large hopper windows, we opened it slightly to let in the fresh ocean air. Our order included: *Hot Lemon Tea ~ A comforting beverage to start our meal. *La Fettunta ~ Crispy, buttered garlic bread. We hadn't realized that complimentary bread and butter were included with the meal, so we ordered this as an extra. We're certainly glad we did! The irresistible crispness was perfect, and it paired beautifully with our pasta dishes. *Antipasto of the House ~ An assortment of prosciutto, Tuscan bean salad, fresh mozzarella, tapenade, grilled vegetables, and salumi. A lovely medley of flavors to begin our Italian lunch. *Linguine Alle Vongole ~ Baby clams in their shells, pancetta, garlic, chilies, and white wine. So fresh and absolutely delicious! The clams, paired with garlic and white wine, made this dish especially memorable. *Pappardelle al Ragù Bolognese ~ Slow-simmered meat sauce finished with Parmigiano-Reggiano. I sampled my husband's dish and especially loved the broad ribbons of pappardelle, cooked to perfection and ideal for catching every bit of that rich, savory sauce. Between the sweeping views, delicious food, attentive service, and lively, upbeat energy, this restaurant has so much to offer. The atmosphere was every bit as memorable as the meal itself. It's places like this that make traveling such a joy, turning an ordinary lunch into a delightful experience and another memorable chapter in our adventures!
