Good food. Restaurant waiters are very attentive. Bar is a bit of a side show. Bartender listing RO music or something on her phone. The people at the bar are loud and vulgar and not the same people who are at the tables. Restaurant is a 5 Bar is a 2. read more

Really wanted to give Beech a 3.5. Venue is great, many dining spaces, something for everyone. Confusing when making a reservation if you do not know where the spaces are. Very friendly greeting and service at hostess stand (we had to wait for our table 15 min but no problem, they were on it). Waitress was just ok, good enough but not attentive and we had long waits before she reappeared. Food was average. Zucchini chips were a surprise hit, very lightly fried (and I usually don't do anything fried), dip with it was very good. Caesar salads were generously sized and crunchy good, dressing solid. For entrees our table had 2 baked cod, both were good but the portion of cod was very small in comparison with the potatoes underneath. Our table had one of the specials which was pasta bolognese. For $37 it was a major disappointment, small size for a pasta entree, average taste. May want to enquire as what the price point is on any pasta special. Last entree was the Tuna. Nice portion size but didn't get it rare as ordered, it was med so for me that ruined it. The beans and broccoli rabe were so salty underneath I took half of it home. Not sure I will eat it. Sadly disappointed in overall meal experience. A shout out to our bread, water girl who was fabulous! I really wish we got her name. She was at our table whenever we needed anything and had a bubbly personality that made our evening fun. Side note to anyone coming from Newport: for years we would take the ferry from Perrotti Park to Jamestown. That ferry is not operating as it used to and the price is double what it was in the last few years. No problem, we drove over but certainly a deterrence for us as we loved bringing guests over on the ferry. read more

So delicious, the place to be in Jamestown. Such a beautiful restaurant inside and out with the most delicious food wonderful service and everything is just perfect. The muscles were to die for as an appetizer and the wedge salad was certainly enough for two and so delicious. My husband had the burger and it was enormous With very tasty fries. Very relaxed atmosphere great spot for conversations as certainly the outside area is perfect for get togethers with friends or a romantic dinner for two. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Walked into Beech and the place was practically empty no customers in sight. Despite that, it took 30 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me or take my order. The waiters were literally sitting at the far end of the restaurant, drinking Coke and chatting like it was their day off. No sense of urgency, no apology, nothing. If this is how they treat their guests when it's slow, I can't imagine what it's like when they're actually busy. Won't be coming back. read more

Absolutely wonderful first-time dinner at Beech. Our friends and we were seated promptly for our reservation at 8 and quickly became fast friends with our server, Megan. She made great suggestions and had plenty of laughs with us throughout the evening. The blackened swordfish and a special of sea bass over risotto were standouts, as was a delicious order of pasta with bolognese that that table shared. A terrific dining experience from start to finish. read more

Took my husband here for his birthday. It was a beautiful night and we sat outside near the towering beech tree at the bar. Had a good server (young but helpful and trying hard) and really enjoyed those Stoli Dolis! Our dinner was good, not great as we'd hoped, but still enjoyable with fresh dinner rolls upon request. My linguini and clam sauce wasn't very hot and his blackened swordfish wasn't very big -- but both were tasty and enjoyed. People near us got the burger and crab cakes -- both looked good. It's really a lovely atmosphere and good drinks so have fun. read more

5 stars for food. We went on a double date and ordered a bunch of apps. The carpaccio and crab cakes stand out. The home made pasta for the vongole white sauce was amazing. The service was fine. Nothing to write home about. They also clearly wanted to get out of there and started breaking down the dining room with us and another table still sitting there. I realize staff want to go home (I used to waitress back in the day) but it comes across as extremely rude and unwelcoming. It's not like it was midnight, it was 10:10 on a Saturday night. read more

Had a wonderful experience tonight. Second time here and didn't think it could get any better. Excellent service, even better food! Our server, Megan M. was very pleasant, attentive and accommodating to our younger guest. He was incredibly happy with his grilled cheese. Espresso Martini was top notch and the t-bone special was incredible. One of my favorite spots in RI. read more

Ok food - great location and good service. Went for lunch - ate outside. Again beautiful location and average food.

After Trattoria was sold, got new owners, and rebranded, I could not wait to revisit and see how it changed, especially as the old Trattoria was already so amazing and a lot to live up to. Visiting Beech at the same time, I was wowed! The food is exquisite! The menu is unique and different, ingredients are fresh and taste so good. Each food item has such a colorful and flavourful set of ingredients that you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. The blackened swordfish was absolutely delicious, the oysters were memorable, everything down to the fries tasted seriously yummy! It is clear that the restaurant has top-of-the-line Master Chefs on premise. Also, as I'm a dessert girl, I must share that the deserts here are such must-have sweet goodness. The quality of the service is top, fast, professional, expert servers. Plus the location is enormous, with so many rooms and sections. This gem of a restaurant is a cornerstone of the Jamestown experience. tips: book in advance to get reservation, go for earlier dinner to have a higher chance of getting space and getting in. Parking is mainly street parking as the back parking is very small. read more

Some reviews are a pleasure to write, this isn't going to be one of those. Admittedly, I've been holding off on writing critical comments, given how hard COVID has been on the hospitality industry I have a hard time piling on. And then we have what happened here. Misleading would be generous, wrong even, what this restaurant seems to have done is more than that. And its not right. Beech has on its menu a fancy burger. They have a lot of other stuff, but one of the items is a burger. "Hand-packed Pat Lafrieda beef, vine-ripened tomato, lettuce, red onion, toasted potato bun." Normally I wouldn't order a burger in a place like this, but Pat Lafrieda, that's the meat purveyor for some of the best burgers in the world. Minetta Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Shake Shack, they all serve (or use to) custom blended Pat Lafreida beef. I myself have ordered by mail Pat Lafrieda beef, chopped btw, they avoid "ground" in a real Lafrieda blend, as a special treat. And this place, in little sleepy Jamestown, is making the same special effort, how could I not. Except they're not either. You see I ordered this burger, And its no Lafrieda. I know, you're going to ask, how do I know? Did I trace the burger, did I test its provenance, its DNA? How do I know, other than I couldn't even eat the dusty, dry, mealy overcooked hockypuck I was served? Its that first word. The burger they serve here is "hand packed Pat Lafrieda beef", their menu says so. Well its not. On my plate, what I bought, what I was served was a processed machine packed puck of ground beef. My guess is that its not even Grade A beef they are serving, my guess is that its Choice bulk frozen at best, but that's merely a guess. Don't worry, I've included a photo of my disappointment. Feel free to have a look. Perfect circle, flat and round, pumped through a machine and sliced up by the same. Hand packed Lafrieda, not even close. On the plus side, my displeasure was so obvious that our server strived to make it right. In addition to offering desert to compensate for the poor meal (my wife's Steak Frites also overdone and without flavor), the restaurant picked up the tab on our drinks. The free Champagne (Tattinger no less) and the very nice warm floured dinner rolls were the highlights of our meal, along with a server who did her very best, so there were upsides. Won't be back folks. I have no idea what they serve here, I certainly cannot tell from the menu. D- read more

This is such a cozy spot. Every room/area is different, yet all have that same relaxed and comfy beachy-chic atmosphere. It was very busy when we went, and a sudden and heavy rainstorm had forced many of the outdoor patrons inside right as we arrived... which caused quite a packed mess. All of the staff, however, handled it like champs. We waited for a few minutes while they worked as quickly as possible to clear tables and get everyone seated. The hostess was excellent about not only organising the tables, but consistently communicating with us about our shrinking wait time. Our waiter was also on the ball; he dealt with the craziness with such class and ease. The food was delicious, albeit a bit small on the lobster roll. Their beet salad was the best I've ever had. I could've eaten triple that amount for a whole meal! The one gripe I had was that it was very loud. We were seated in the middle of the room which is always the worst spot for compounding noise, but it would've been loud regardless of our location. If you're looking for a more quiet locale, this place on a busy night is not the best option. read more

Beech is one of those places that I could come back to 100 times and not get tired of. I visited for the first time Friday night with my boyfriend just to get a drink at the outdoor bar. The ambiance is unbeatable and our drinks were absolutely delicious. After perusing the food menu we knew we had to come back. We were able to return last night for a 7:15 reservation with another couple however unfortunately, minutes after we sat it started to rain. The server and host graciously moved us to an indoor table where we enjoyed the most incredible meal. We started with the mussels and then order the swordfish and scallops. The other couple shared the swordfish and prawn pasta dish. Everything was absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to return next time I am in Jamestown!!! read more

I went with my wife and was quite surprised by how rude the people behind the hostess stand were. They made us feel like it was a privilege to be allowed in and talked down to us. Once we got the food we realized it was extremely overpriced and lacked taste. I do not recommend ever going to this place. Jamestown has so much more to offer at other restaurants. read more

Great food. Service was excellent. Server didn't hover but was always available. It's a very vibrant place. Read that as loud but fun.

A great spot in the heart of Jamestown! Came here on a Monday night in the fall so less busy than a weekend but it was still bustling up in the treehouse! Fun cocktails and decent wine by the glass list (but try bottle list was a bit limited). We split mussels for an appetizer (would have been too much for one person), and i had the Atlantic salmon and he had the simply grilled halibut. Both were fresh and delicious. Cute place, worth the drive for a fun night by the water. read more

We stumbled upon this great restaurant while visiting the island . The restaurant feels newly updated with classic navy and crisp white decor... we sat in the glass enclosed room overlooking the street and harbor. There is outdoor seating also. The bar is a beautiful copper top and the the black and white tile tastefully accent the decor. We had the beer battered Fish n chips and French onion soup and they were both top notch. The batter was crispy and the fish was flaky, moist and flavorful . The fries were hand cut , perfectly seasoned with a very refreshing slaw . The onion soup was savory and full bodied broth with a delicious Gruyère crust melted over a slice of toasted sourdough. Our waiter , Peter was attentive and polite. It was a perfect meal! read more

I wish this place could get there act together. Always poor service very young and not professional servers. Food quality is fine not great, food runners have no clue who ordered what dish. Great experience! The mussels and sticky ribs are a must try! Our waitress, Valerie, was very helpful with providing us with tasty and fresh recommendations. We loved the flavor of the sauce in the mussels, highly recommended dipping the bread in the sauce. The boy who brought the bread out was very sweet and attentive to asking if we'd like more. The sticky ribs fell of the bone and had a tasty sauce. The appetizers were large portion sizes! The blackened swordfish was also very fresh and well seasoned. We also really enjoyed our drinks. Laughable service. Extremely rude hostess and manager. Food is over priced for quality

Really nice atmosphere, not great service. Our appetizer never came, drinks took a while and portions were small, although delicious. The table next to us was too close and the couple sitting there was extremely rude and entitled. making comments and gestures to us and about us throughout our meal. I have never experienced anything like this but I guess that's whats expected when dining in Jamestown??? Won't be returning. read more

Sorely Disappointed. The last couple visits have not gone well. My first in a long time, I was basically told to hurry up and order as we need this table for another party. WTF?? Recently, ordered some take out. The ribs appetizer was very dry. And the pasta special very very bland. In the past, when I've order their pasta bolognese it too was bland and lacking not much of the meat sauce. So I thought I would try the pasta special. On a positive, I do like their ambiance and especially when one can sit outside. Their margaritas are good. read more

Just go here and enjoy a great meal in a charming space. Highly recommend. read more

Did not get all of the components that came with my appetizer $16 I asked for it on the side for my companion since I couldn't eat it. No gluten free bread available here! Had $48 Halibut, a bit dry over undercooked rice. By the time server asked how it was it was getting cold and 1/2 eaten. Should have never said we were visiting, the table next to us got great service while we had to beg for water etc. This restaurant should use gluten free soy sauce so all guests can enjoy a sauce! Really no excuse for these prices and how common Gluten Free needs are. Get a rice cooker please! Should have asked for appetizer sauce to be done on the halibut, but they weren't very open to changes and guest enjoying their meal- menu NOT marked for allergens, so plan on a wait until the person who knows can tell you! Food- way below par Service- need allergy training on menu and attentiveness read more

Absolutely delightful! Super nice spot in Jamestown, upscale but not stuffy. Food was delicious and service was the best we could have asked for! Very nice wine selection and craft beers on draft. Beech - Crème brûlée - American Near Me - Jamestown, Rhode Island

As a Rhode Island local and a seafood lover, My friend insisted she bring me here for my birthday present. Our server was awesome first of all. I forget her name, but she was Great!! We started off with a simple green salad, and the hamachi crudo. I am a mezcal lover and like to keep it simple so I ordered a spicy marg off menu. We split the lentil veggie entree and the simply grilled swordfish. Fish was sooooo fresh the squash that came alongside was stellar. Veggies in the lentil entree were a bit undercooked, especially the carrots, and I wish there was a bit more sweet potato purée, but it was okay, probably my least favorite. Ended with flourless chocolate torte and a birthday song- unexpected but very cute. I will definitely be back. read more

Sexist restaurant. Where's The Beef? Drinks were strong. Calamari was very good. Waitstaff was okay. Ambiance was pleasant. The gentleman at the next table ordered the Filet. It looked delicious and was a good size, about 3 1/2" in diameter, so I decided to order it. I was absolutely stunned when they put it in front of me. Mine was about 2" in diameter. Looked more like a medallion than a filet. And the dish is $48! Do you always serve women a smaller portion than men? I still can't believe it. Left hungry and had to go elsewhere for decent size meal. Very souring experience. read more
