I had high hopes for this place! First, I called to place an order for pick up because the order online function was not working. The greeter states they can't take orders over the phone. I stated that there's an issue with their website and it says to call online. She has no idea when it is going to come back up. Say we can order through Uber Eats or DoorDash and I told her we're not paying the extra fees associated with that. My coworkers and I decided to drive there and place our order. We walk in and the cashier just looks at us. She does not greet. We are standing waiting to order. A few minutes later we look over and see they have a kiosk to order yourself... the cashier could've stated that rather than just have us standing around. We place our order and then went back to the car to wait. There was a smell of sewage coming from the back of the restaurant near the kiosk. Once the order is ready I get them. Get to the car they forgot an order of fish but were kind enough to cook it and hand it over. We get to work and we are ready to take our food! it was BLAND!!!! We got 3 orders of crb eggrolls and they were not it! The crab meat was not seasoned. It tasted artificial. There was no lump crab meat. Just shreds. Then they wrapped it with maybe 4-5 eggrolls sheets why would you ever need that many??? So that made it doughy instead of a crisp. The sauce that's on top just tastes like mayo. No seasoning. 10/10 don't recommend. Fried whiting was fried crispy. That was good but again it lacked seasoning. The salmon with lump crab over a bed of rice.... Again lacked seasoning. Salmon was over cooked. And presentation is everything.

I knew this place would be good when I walked past it on my way to Lidl shortly after it opened. I made a note to go back, and I'm glad that I did! This is a new establishment that seems to be growing quickly and maybe experiencing the blessing and curse of rapid growth. Be patient with them as they navigate the business. It might give carry out vibes, but it has restaurant wait times for the food. That being said, the food here is FILLED, I repeat FILLED with flavor! I got the catfish basket and subbed garlic broccoli for the fries, but they gave me the fries by mistake. I also got a side of hush puppies. Those hush puppies are good enough to make stop talking and offer them to your friend to taste because someone else has to experience the joy you experienced when first tasting them. I highly recommend getting them! Just an FYI that the hush puppies are on the sweeter side and very crispy on the outside, and soft in the center. Dare I say they're dangerous because you'll eat all of them and want more before you know it. The catfish is fried well and a great texture. The batter is a little too salty for me. However, it's flavorful and not spicy. The fries were also excellent! I do not recommend the garlic broccoli, it was very forgettable. Pass! My friend got the boil with crab legs and lobster tail with all the mix 'em all option and mild. FLAVOR! The mild wasn't spicy at all to me, but I'm Ghanaian so my spice tolerance is borderline illegal. The only negative is that there is so much sauce in the boil, so her garlic noodles were drenched. I'll be back to get a boil for myself and I'll get hot. I recommend this place and bear with them as they grow and evolve.

We had the very large breakfast burrito and the garden vegetable shakshuka. Both were excellent; delivered hot and were well seasoned. The coffee is strong but not acidic. The servers were very helpful and attentive, and responsive to requests for additional items. I would definitely return again for a meal before a play at Arena stage or otherwise.

This past weekend, I finally returned for dinner with a couple of friends after a show at Arena Stage. The restaurant is still stunning. We sat outside to enjoy the Wharf/water views and the summer weather. The food was still great, too. We shared lots of dishes: a half dozen oysters; tempura fried squash blossoms filled with Maryland crab and cream cheese; an heirloom tomato salad with feta and fried shallots; Massaman curry with fragrant herbs, housemade roti, and the fish of the day; a beautiful halibut dish; and a candied Virginia peanut tiramisu. Everything was tasty, but the entrees really blew my mind - beautiful and delicious. We also each had a glass or two of wine, and they have a great wine list. The service was very friendly, but at some point during our early dinner (our reservation was for 5pm), they got busy and our server disappeared a bit as he got busier. Still, it was a lovely dinner overall - exactly the kind of place you want to be on a warm summer day! If you love seafood and summer vibes, Fish Shop should definitely be on your list.

Our waitress read the room immediately. With a very hungry pregnant lady at the table she prioritized the Parker house rolls without being asked. This kind of attention to detail sets the tone. We later learned she was a fellow Cancer with a birthday coming up. Cancer energy is real!!! The food and drinks did not disappoint. Asparagus, calamari, shrimp cocktail, coal roasted oysters, chicken chermoula, and lump crab gratin. Worth every penny. One tip worth sharing, ask for a bit of sea salt for the chicken. The first taste lacked it and that small addition made all the difference. We were five deep which honestly matched the energy of most tables around us. The space was bright and airy and the round tables made for great socializing, easy sharing, and yes some excellent boomerang pics. Checkout was seamless. Splitting the check evenly with tap to pay right at the table got us out quickly and on to the next stop. Puddin is a crowd favorite so we left room to run over there even though the dessert menu at Cordelia looked amazing. From a post embassy hang to friends up from Richmond, Cordelia meets every occasion at the table. We said a table worth coming back to again and again. Visit two confirmed it.

Unfortunately, the brunch experience was very disappointing. Our table was in a tight area near the kitchen, and the music was so loud that it was difficult to hear one another. The food service was extremely disorganized. Some guests never received their meals, while others received meals they didn't order. As the birthday girl, I had to intervene when an argument developed between the waitress and one of my guests over a bowl of potatoes. The waitress insisted my guest had already received them, but she had not. My guest was so hungry from waiting that she eventually began eating from another guest's plate. Honestly, who's going to lie about not receiving a bowl of potatoes during a Saturday brunch? My own omelette was not tasty, and I did not care for the white sauce, although the potatoes were good. The mimosas were good as well, except for the hibiscus flavor. We spent over $800 for our party of 13, yet several guests left without receiving their correct meals. We ultimately went next door to Matchbox so everyone could eat and continue the birthday celebration. I want to acknowledge the beautiful atmosphere and excellent bartender, but the overall service and organization were disappointing. Spending over $800 and leaving with hungry guests and incorrect or missing orders is unacceptable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves how large parties are handled.

Unfortunately, my wife's first experience was the exception. On our last visit together, the service simply didn't deliver and we ended up leaving. After the manager reached out and encouraged us to give Joe's another chance, I convinced my wife to come back. I'm really glad we did. This time we brought our toddler and ordered the oysters, stone crab, king crab, and bone-in ribeye. Everything was excellent. More importantly, the service was back to the Joe's I've known for years. Our server Kimberly was wonderful, attentive, warm, and took great care of us. Ryan the manager also stopped by personally to apologize and make sure we were having a good experience. What made this visit especially satisfying was seeing my wife finally experience the level of hospitality I had been telling her about all these years. She walked away impressed, and so did I. Great seafood, a proper ribeye, and excellent hospitality. Thank you to Kimberly and the management team for turning things around. Looking forward to many more visits. Keep it up, guys!

This was my first visit to Kitchen Savages. I had tried walking in without a reservation once before on a Saturday evening, and there were no seats available. So my first recommendation would definitely be to make sure you make/have a reservation because they do get busy (understandably so)!! Overall our brunch experience was good! I started off with the Mimosa Sampler for my drink order; I wanted to try the different flavours that were on offer. These were nice, but I'd hoped the presentation would have been a little better and the mimosas not as heavy with the juices. The food was great! Super tasty and packed with flavour. My husband had the Peach Cobbler French Toast and I ordered the 'Create-Your-Own' pasta. I requested it with salmon, shrimp and spinach, but it only came with the shrimp and spinach. Such a shame, because I can imagine the salmon would have made the dish EVEN better. When the bill came, it had the salmon (which I never got) listed on it - after pointing this out, the server checked with the kitchen, and kindly removed it from the bill. Overall, I would say that we really enjoyed brunch here. I will definitely be back in the future to try the main dinner menu & hopefully there'll be no mixups with what I order and what I get .

Their happy hour is one of the highlights, offering discounted oysters, drinks, and select appetizers during designated hours. I started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which arrived piping hot and topped with a generous layer of melted Parmesan. The dip was creamy, cheesy, and packed with spinach and artichokes without being overly heavy. It had a rich, savory flavor that paired perfectly with the warm, crispy house-made tortilla chips. The chips were sturdy enough to scoop up the thick dip without breaking, making it an appetizer that was easy to keep reaching for. The raw oysters were the star of the meal. They were served beautifully over ice with fresh lemon and a variety of sauces. The oysters tasted incredibly fresh clean, briny, and buttery with no fishy aftertaste. Each one had its own subtle flavor, and the accompaniments enhanced them without overpowering their natural taste. At happy hour pricing, they were an outstanding value and definitely something I'd order again. To drink, I had a margarita, which was refreshing and well-balanced. It wasn't overly sweet, allowing the citrus and tequila flavors to shine through. The salted rim added the perfect finishing touch, making it an ideal pairing with both the oysters and the creamy dip. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overcrowded, making it a great place for catching up with friends or enjoying an after-work happy hour. Service was attentive, and the food arrived quickly despite the restaurant being busy.
