Delicious meal very expensive and steadily rising in cost but definitely a delectable option.

Crispy Shrimp Basket Crab Fries Hush Puppies Fried Oysters
Julie W.

Inside MGM's food court, I've been eyeing this place for a while. Their food was absolutely DELISH! Perfectly fried soul food fritters. We got their crab fries, crispy shrimp basket, fried oysters, hush puppies, and clam chowder. Crispy shrimp basket was fried deliciously with cocktail sauce on the side. Their hush puppies and fried oysters were great too- perfect amount of batter, not too little, not too much. The crab fries were alright. It was the thing I was most looking forward to and it was good but mostly cheese sauce with a little cajun powder and bits of crab here and there. My favorite ended up being their clam chowder soup which was OUTTA THIS WORLD! So creamy buttery and rich. I could go back just for it. Overall, I'd definitely get the crispy shrimp basket, hush puppies and clam chowder soup again along with trying their other crab entrees.

Located inside the MGM casino National Harbor and was highly recommended to try the crab cakes. You can get an individual 8 oz crab cake for about $19.99. If you want some French fries, cole slaw and tomato slices, you can get the platter for $24.49. Crab cakes were good with big pieces of crab. The shop was only run by two people in the front..one lady taking the order and the other preparing the food. Friendly staff and service was quick despite a line of people getting their order around dinner time.

I have had hundreds of crab cakes in my life. And this was the sweetest crab cake that I have every had. Although, it was meaty the crab cake was sweet and not tasty.

I thought it was a bit pricey but it hit the spot. The hush puppies and fried Oysters were great. Of course the location is great but there are other places I will try while at MGM in Oxon Hill, MD

Such a cute place. It's in a corner and could be easily missed but it's a nice gem. I had the fried oysters and crab fries. The fried oysters were ok, they were fried well but lacked seasoning and were more warm than hot. The crab fries were really good. Something different and new for me. The crab was cold under melted cheese on top of hot fries. It wasn't bad and the price was shockingly minuscule.

Pappas Crab Cakes is located inside the Food Court of MGM at National Harbor. The line is usually long because the crabcakes are truly great. As a DC native, I am a snob about my crab cakes. They can't be fried and filled with filler and seasoned to perfection; and that's exact what Pappa is not. Highly recommend them. Now if there is a complaint is the high price. A sandwich is around $23-26. But at least it 6 ounces and comes with fries that you can upgrade to "Crab Fries" which includes a cheese sauce.

Dry old crab cake

They need Fresh food!!!! Was served old dry crab cakes that had been sitting out...didn't notice until I was home. This place has gone downhill. The shrimps were battered in what taste like hush puppies batter making them too sweet, who wants sweet fried shrimp. I won't be returning!!!

Went her and tried the Crispy Shrimp Basket. The shrimp were a little on the small size, but we're really good, although the dipping sauce really sucked. The fries were really on point with the OBay seasoning. It's also a little over priced, but not all that bad.

Now this is what an authentic Maryland crab cake is supposed to taste like! Full of lumps. No filler or celery chunks or breadcrumbs or any of that other crap. Just bite after bite of sweet Maryland crab meat. At first I had my reservations about this place. It's a restaurant in the food court of a casino, how good can the crab cakes be? My friend vouched for them, so I felt a little better about the decision. I actually ordered the Pappas Platter with a crab cake, fried shrimp, fries and coleslaw. Literally everything on that plate was amazing, even the coleslaw... And I'm not a big fan of coleslaw. This is definitely one of the more expensive places in the MGM food court, but you will absolutely get what you pay for. This is one of the best crab cakes I've ever had *anywhere* and I definitely recommended checking it out.

We ate here after coming for a surprise Marriage Proposal at the MGM Grand. I was excited at first because I love Pappas 's Crab Cakes. I got the Crab Cake Platter, with French Fries and Cole Slaw. I was highly disappointed, this Pappas's cannot be affiliated with the Pappas in Glen Bernie or Cockeysville. This Crab Cake was horrible, it had a funny artificial taste, no Old Bay flavor at all, nothing like I'm used to getting from their other two Locations. The Tarter Sauce was even nasty, the only thing that was good were the French Fries. I won't be returning to this Pappas location.

This was the beautiful Pappas platter for the cost, you not going to complain, and those shrimp were everything.
Cynderella H.

What happened. And I'm adding two pics in comparison because I'm Serious about my food. The Pappas platter is NOT true to size now. HORRIBLE. This is the Pappas Platter now. WTF happened. I was appalled. I don't care if you are paying cash, card it points.. no way is this acceptable and that crab cake was full of shells. The taste was there but nope, the shrimp were gross and the fries were ok. I'm not paying no more for this place. I quit. I use to LOVE it here. Give it to the tourist because this is NOT what we are use to

State Sandwich Crab Fries
Decorbyme D.

I don't know what it was but it wasn't as good as I thought? I felt that if the fries had more crab, the combination of crab, cheese, green onion?, spices would make the fries perfect. The crab sandwich was 23.99 and upgrading to crab fries was 4.00 more. Really pretty pricey. I don't know if it was a wow or great for me--something was missing?

For appetizers, I ordered the fried oyster deviled eggs, and wow... they were so good. The little fried oysters on top of the deviled eggs were such a perfect combination. Crispy, creamy, flavorful -- definitely something I would order again without hesitation. For my entrée, I had the whole grilled branzino served over a green bean and fennel salad, and let me tell you... this was hands down one of the best branzinos I've ever had. The fish was seasoned perfectly and cooked beautifully. And that green bean and fennel salad underneath? So much better than I expected. I actually considered swapping it out, and I'm so glad I didn't because it completed the dish perfectly. Every bite was delicious. I also had a cocktail called the Endless Summer -- a tequila drink with this amazing foam on top -- and it was excellent. I asked the bartender for a recommendation, and she absolutely delivered. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. I went by myself, sat at the bar, and genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and just an overall really enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back, and I absolutely recommend checking it out if you're at the Harbor.

After reading through a number of glowing reviews, I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad I did. It lived up to the reputation completely. If you are planning a visit, consider this your warning to pace yourself because everything on the menu is worth ordering. My group definitely went overboard, but in the best way possible. We started with the deviled eggs, which my table mates raved about. I didn't personally try them, but based on how quickly they disappeared, they are clearly a must-order. The pork belly ssam was a standout, perfectly balanced and easily one of the highlights of the night. We also shared the dirty chicken and the tater tots, both of which hit the mark. For our sides, we opted for the namesake corn succotash and the seasonal ginger broccoli. Both were seasoned beautifully and complemented the heavier dishes well. It is rare to find a spot where the sides feel just as intentional and well-executed as the entrees. The drinks were just as impressive, rounding out the meal perfectly. My only advice for next time is to exercise a little more restraint because while I want to try everything on the menu, the portions are generous. I will definitely be heading back soon to work my way through the rest of the offerings. It is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated Southern comfort food in a great atmosphere.

The manager, Geoffrey, was delightful, he personally catered to our needs, made us feel genuinely welcomed, and turned Succotash into a true home away from home for our visit. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and professional, which created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. The cocktails were excellently prepared, balanced, flavorful, and exactly what you want for a daytime outing. Between the great drinks, delicious food, and easygoing setting, it was truly day drinking at its finest. Hank's Oyster Bar - Alexandria VA…read more For many years, Old Town Alexandria has been a dependable friend to restaurants and to those who visit the same. As an Old Town resident, I first visited Hank's Oyster Bar 15 years ago, when its space on King Street was a beloved, if cramped, destination for guests from all over the DMV (and beyond). Since then, a sibling Hank's Oyster Bar established itself when the Wharf arose from the docks of the historical D.C. fish market on Maine Ave. SW. Around the same time, the King Street Hank's relocated from King Street to its current location at the intersection of N. St. Asaph Street and Montgomery Street. The location makes sense - parking at the former location was just about impossible. Parking is possible at the new location, but it's still in Old Town, so plan ahead if you're arriving by car. The restaurant's location now is in the northeast quadrant of Old Town - about eight blocks north of the intersection of King Street and North Washington Street - and can be reached from the Metro Rail Stations at either King Street or Braddock Road, using the DASH free buses - Routes 30 or 31. (Exit the bus at Madison St & N Saint Asaph St if using Bus 30 or 31 from Braddock Road; exit the bus at Montgomery St & N Saint Asaph St if using the bus from King Street Metro.) Although I have yet to try it, Hank's Pasta Bar also operates from this location as well - although the website reflects the pasta menu is intended for carry-out orders only. Still, if the folks in the kitchen set their minds to offer diverse pasta dishes the same way they approach serving oysters and seafood, you're likely to be in particularly capable hands for carry-out and delivery service. For my recent visit, I was looking for a light lunch served at a place with a decent bar, and Hank's fits that description. At the recommendation of the host, I took the elevator up to the rooftop floor - a light, spacious, clean, and hospitable dining room. I ordered the appetizer griddled crab cake (a single grilled cake with Cole slaw, $19) along with a Narragansett lager and Maker's Mark. A perfect selection for a light lunch, all in a relaxed and comfortable space.

Along with the two dozen oysters that we had, we also had the shrimp Poboy and seared Dorado. Both were amazing probably the best po boythat I've had and the fish was cooked perfectly. The poor boy was super buttered. I had Texas toast to accompany the fried shrimp and the shrimp was perfectly cooked not chewy at all. There's a good amount of mayo and sauce along with the sandwich which made everything very flavorful and it was lighting up with the coleslaw that I combined on the top. Perfect light crisp from the shrimp and bread. I like the oysters they're great for Maryland; little bit of brine and they tasted fresh. I liked the marinara sauce that came with it. We ordered a second dozen since the first batch was quite good. I've tried better ones on the West Coast, but for the East Coast these were quite good. If you don't taste much, you should definitely chew a lot more on the oysters and the flavor will start to come out. The Dorado was cooked perfectly and the sauce of it was amazing. I think it was some sort of basil, oil, and other sauce combined, but regardless it tasted so good. It reminded me of a fish dish that I got back in Washington state. The drinks were good but quite strong. I had the not your nana's banana, but I was not a fan since it was quite strong. We got the watermelon punch which was great. Wish we had gotten two of those. The atmosphere is good although quite busy we came on Valentine's Day so they're a lot of couples and most of the tables were filled, but we were still able to sit down on a small table next to the door a little bit cold when the door is open, but it's understandable since the restaurant is is making the most out of the space we still enjoyed our dinner. Service was OK. Our waiter was nice, but it sort of seemed like he was putting a fake smile on. I get it though we're probably his 100,000th customer that he's seen. Regardless, we had a good experience and I'll definitely will be back here.

The bar felt a bit unattended and overall pretty drab, which took away from the experience. I still enjoyed myself, despite a talkative salesman keeping us company most of the time.
