I chipped my tooth and was calling local dentists to see if they would be willing to fix. I called this office and requested assistance. I had to qualify my inquiry since i ONLY wanted the chipped tooth fixed. I was denied. When i asked why, i was informed that they will only fix if I allow them to perform a full range of services including a full battery of Xrays, cleaning, etc. (It was explained to me this is necessary and the Dentist is only looking out for my best interests?) I understand the dentist wanting to make a living but I never imagined I'd be turned away over this. I think what is going on with these dentists is their determination to maximize their Dental Revenue per chair/hour. Apparently fixing a simple chipped tooth doesn't elevate to the revenue aspirations of this office. One Star read more

So throwing another review out here, for as I am now done with all the restoration crap I've put my mouth through, and chucking it on to say what a fun, fancy, and actually pleasant experience it has been. Okay, as pleasant as it can be for repeated dental visits correcting the monstrosity that I have done to myself. I have to throw this one out there, because it has to be said. One awesome issue with my psyche, is that along with my ability to growl under my breath and hold grudges with an absorbent amount of rage, I inherited my mothers ability to be immune to Novocain and most pain pills. Yes sir, indeedy do, its hard to numb my mouth. Of course I find this out during a procedure years before, but, hey read about that in my previous review. But my wonderful immunity to most narcotics and numbing agents didn't scare the guy, so definitely hats off to someone who's up for a challenge! Now back to the present. Dr. Becker actually took this into consideration, and was able to numb the wreckage of my mouth with general ease. Of course the numbing agents wore off quickly, because after all, this is my luck, but I never noticed until after all procedures were completed. I guess he shot me up between takes. =D Or maybe not, who knows, all I know is through the deep cleaning, and the gargantuan fillings I had this poor guy take care of, there was very minimal to no pain, especially with all the digging I know he had to do in there. I honestly wonder if he found gold in there. If so I want my cut. The weirdest thing, I was expecting him to say "OH LOOK, ROOT CANAL TIME" on a particular spot in my mouth, in which previous dentist was all for shaving down and capping and charging me 2 grand for. However, I didn't mention this to the doc, because hey, the dude TRIED YANKING THE WRONG DAMNED TOOTH so his personal opinion really wasn't too keen for me. So while I'm expecting to get slapped with that, I wasn't. Instead it was a filling procedure which now that I look at it, I kinda wonder if the Black Hole of Doom that was on it was just a figment of my imagination. Because the work is that good. In the end, I now wonder what I'm going to do with my Fridays, since all the procedures are now complete. Now I'm wondering if maybe those braces would be a good idea. I know I can at least depend on an honest answer from my dentist. TL:DR Version: Dr. Becker good. Western Dental bad. read more

Measuring outcome results, my teeth are doing better thanks to their suggestions(friendly advise that does not sound like lecturing or condescending). After reading reviews on yelp I decided to give this office a try. I had my first appointment today with Dr. Becker and I am very pleased. Customer service was great and the staff was friendly. Nothing was forced on me and they seemed to want to know me as an individual, not just as another patient. I had not been to a dentist for almost 2 years prior to this visit. Dr Becker and his team is just wonderful. I moved to Lathrop and had to see a new Dentist so after going through yelp found Dr Jeffrey Becker with all positive reviews. As most people I was also afraid to go to the dentist, so I called and talked to the receptionist first regarding all claims and insurance billing which also was the reason since it was out of network. After talking to the receptionist which she was very nice to answer all questions made appointment and went to see Dr Jeffrey Becker. It was the first visit to Becker ,when I met with Dr BECKER he was very humble n polite ,we started talking about sports ,what I do ,how u heard about the office and in generally. So made me feel very good. After he was done with all exam and assessment he explained what needed to be done and gave plan how we going to proceed with this. So his assistant went and came back with all estimate and costs. They were very professional, he had to extract couple of my teeth and had referred to periodontist since my tooth and gums were not doing good. There was extra payment I did for my partial which later they refunded my money back. I've seen the same dentist my entire life (30+ years). After moving to Manteca from San Jose, I was forced (kicking and screaming) to find a local dentist. After horror stories heard and read online of people and dentists, I was worried... but let me tell you, I had the BEST experience at this practice today. I saw Dr. Becker and he was great! From the initial phone call, experience in the office, and visit with the doctor, the whole office is top notch. So friendly and welcoming, they put me at ease right away. Dr. Becker is a pleasure to work with. He's a younger gentleman so he is very easy to socialize and get along with. It is a rare occurrence that you come across a dentist such as Dr. Becker. I feel as if a majority of dentists are drill happy and will do just about anything to think you have to have work done on your teeth. Dr. Becker, however, takes the time to thoroughly examine your teeth to preserve them. He will take care of your teeth and give you the honest truth to the work that your teeth needs. Ive had several occasions in which Dr. Becker put some teeth on "watch" and thankfully so because they did not develop into cavities. We are new to the area. So far they have treated me very well. I went in for my first visit with a broken tooth. I messaged them here on Yelp and they got back to me right away and saw me very quickly. So far I've had a root canal and will get my crown soon. Very gentle and helpful keeping pain away. I'm amazed at how personable Dr Becker is. He took my X-rays because the tech was pregnant and even answered the phone one time I called because everyone else was busy. Other dentists would not do this based on my past experiences. My previous dentist was one of those "big name" dental firms. They were terrible so this is a complete surprise and change for the better. My whole family will be changing over as soon as they need their next cleaning. read more

I took both my niece and nephew to Dr. Becker who are both completely terrified of dentists after the experience they had with their previous dentist. Right away he gained their trust by talking them like people and became their friend yet still being very professional. I have never been much of a social media person, but I feel the need to write the following review...After not having seen a dentist for years, my wife said I HAVE to see Dr. Becker for a check-up. I've often get a bad vibe from dentists and feel that they are out to make an extra buck so prior to the appointment you could say I was less than excited. However, this all changed when I saw Dr. Becker. His staff (I believe her name was Mishelene) greeted me warmly at the door, helped me finish crossing the Ts and dotting the Is on my paperwork, and brought me back to begin my exam in less than 5 minutes. After a thorough set of digital x-rays were taken (digital is a plus for me because it means less radiation) I met Dr. Becker. He entered the room and we talked for 10 minutes to get to know each other. Turns out he is a big Giants and 49ers fan. I mean a real fan, he knew what he was talking about. I also like that Dr. Becker had already reviewed my chart and my x-rays rather than walking in the room unprepared. He performed his exam (including an oral cancer screening) and sat me up to show me his findings. At this point I am expecting to hear the bad news. However, he mentioned a couple teeth that were not in ideal shape, but he felt we could just keep a close eye on them for now and monitor them closely in the future. The teeth don't bother me at all anyway so I was happy to hear this news. It's as if he wants to establish a lifelong patient in you rather than get you in the door, do a bunch of dental work, and never see you again. And even more, I mentioned to Dr. Becker that I have a hard time getting in to see the dentist because of my work schedule so I believe he worked through his lunch to do my cleaning to accommodate me. And he didn't rush the cleaning. We're talking about a 45 minute thorough cleaning. I can't think of a better experience I've ever had with a health care professional. Dr. Becker actually listened to my wants and needs as a patients and for that reason I felt the need to write this review. read more
