I came in to get my permanent retainer fixed, but instead of addressing the reason I scheduled my appointment, Dr. Tath focused on everything else. He brought up removing my wisdom teeth (which I've had for 40 years without any issues, and every other dentist has told me not to worry about them) and pushed for a deep cleaning. I agreed to the cleaning. The first hygienist who did the right side was amazing. The next day I came back for the left side with a different hygienist, and it was horrible. I was choking on water the entire time, and instead of using the suction tool, she just kept apologizing and letting me struggle. After the cleaning, I asked again about my retainer -- the main reason I was there in the first place -- and was told I'd have to wait two more weeks for an appointment, all while my teeth are shifting. This was a horrible experience. Dr. Tath is not focused on helping patients; he seems more interested in money than care. I almost never review anything, but I just want to give credit where credit is due. For starters the front desk is always amazing and kind, but I really want to rave about the patience and kindness the staff showed my son who is INCREDIBLY anxious and scared with any type of doctor's visit. She took the time to explain to him what she was doing, why, and how she would do it. She gave him space to calm down and take breaks as he needed. It's definitely something that slowed her down but I can't even express how appreciative I am that she created a safe space for him and he left feeling a little better about dentist visits and thats a massive win in my eyes. I want to start out by saying I've had many bad dental experiences that have resulted in severe anxiety whenever I'm getting any dental work done. Finding a dentist whom I can trust has been very challenging. Mossdale Dental has been so amazing and I can finally say I've found a dentist who is reliable, trustworthy, and provides the best care with dental health as #1 priority. Shoutout to Venessa and James for always delivering great customer service while scheduling appointments to accommodate my work schedule. Yes, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy but I feel that's necessary to help fit in other patients that need urgent procedures done sooner when there are last min cancellations. I did have my initial cleaning appointment cancelled because my confirmation didn't go through but Venessa was very quick to reschedule me on the same day. I recently had an urgent root canal and splint done by Dr. Tath due to significant bone loss in my front bottom teeth. Both procedures made me very nervous because it was my first time getting a root canal and obviously the fear of losing my teeth. Dr. Tath knew I was anxious and really helped calm me down my clearly explaining the procedural steps and checked on me frequently during each procedure to ensure I was comfortable. Brianna, who assisted during the entire process, was very comforting, attentive, and her overall demeanor was super chill which made me relax even more. Thank you to the entire team! I called in March 2023 and was put on a waitlist and that the next available appointment would be in July 2023. They said they would call me if something sooner opens up so I said ok. July comes around and I call back to see when my actual appointment is and they tell me that I'm on the waitlist until July 2024!! Seriously W.T.F!! If I knew it was until next year, 15 months after my initial call, then I would have gone somewhere sooner. The urgency for this is that my son is starting school and needs this appointment. I have been to many dentists in my life. Mossdale Dental cares about you, you're not just a person bringing in money, no, you're a person needing help. They are always welcoming, warm and kind. The doctor is amazing and I am saying this as a person who does not like going to the dentist. I've spent a good year with them helping me save my teeth. This time period continues to this day for my oldest son who is high functioning autistic. They worked their magic on him and I have never seen him so relaxed and cooperative in receiving dental work. Taylor has done a fantastic job w/my deep cleaning on both sides without any pain @ all so that makes me happy:) Taylor tells you verbally step by step what he's going to do throughout the procedure so there's no surprises. The office is new and clean and Dr. Pon Tath showed me all of the covid 19 precautions they are taking including HEPA filters and a cool Vortex suction unit that removes droplets and aerosols. Best Dental place in Lathrop/Manteca area, Interior office of the building very high class and has that modern welcoming of new patients/old patients. You get to watch Disney + and enjoy some sparking water while you wait to go in, they even let me watch it while I was waiting for the doctor in the operating room which I thought was pretty cool. Staff there is super friendly and professional, Helps me overcome my dental phobias. Dr Tath is very good at what he does, made my first wisdom tooth removal less scary than I thought it would be like. James in the front office is wonderful. The dental assistants/ hygienists are great. The office is clean it is a great location. My complaint is the very sneaky/shaddy billing process. They show you on the fancy TV screen everything they are doing, what the full cost is, what your insurance will pay and finally what your out of pocket/co-pay is, and then they very promptly charge you at the time of service. Make sure you get a receipt that says paid in full. I was told my out of pocket/co-pay was $500. I made the payment at the time of service. I went back 3 months later for a cleaning/check-up and was told I owed $379 for my previous appointment because my insurance actually didn't cover the procedure I previously had. Had I known that at the time of the service, I would not have had it since it was not required. I was also told I would need a 3D exray because it was the only way the dentist would be able to do the follow-up procedure, so I paid for that myself because my insurance didn't cover it. So with insurance my 1 tooth that I had pulled cost me around $1200. My son just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled with being put under and having no insurance and his cost was $2500. I'm thinking I will use my son's dentist next time. read more

I was having a terrible toothache and gum swelling for 3 days and my dentist's office was closed for the holiday until that Monday. I looked online for an open dental office and called 3; 2 were prompters, and 1, a real person on the other line. This was Mossdale Dental. James, the front desk person, took my call and in a few minutes, put me down for an appointment after lunch. A few minutes after, James called to let me know they would be able to see me in the morning. What a great relief! James exerted all effort to get me in to the clinic as fast as he could, inspite of him being very busy. He was sincerely helpful, very efficient, kind, and pleasant. He's the perfect person in the front desk. Amanda, the dental assistant was so nice, skilled, pleasant, gentle and kind. She did imaging of my mouth using a high-tech machine. Dr. Tath, the equally sincerely helpful, very professional, kind dentist, explained my dental issues, gave me prescription for antibiotics, and how he would eventually fix the problem. What a relief! I'm soo grateful!! They also have a program which is cost effective for people who have no insurance. I was blessed to have been seen by this clinic.
