He brought up removing my wisdom teeth (which I've had for 40 years without any issues, and every other dentist has told me not to worry about them) and pushed for a deep cleaning. I agreed to the cleaning. The first hygienist who did the right side was amazing. The next day I came back for the left side with a different hygienist, and it was horrible. I was choking on water the entire time, and instead of using the suction tool, she just kept apologizing and letting me struggle. After the cleaning, I asked again about my retainer -- the main reason I was there in the first place -- and was told I'd have to wait two more weeks for an appointment, all while my teeth are shifting. This was a horrible experience. Dr. Tath is not focused on helping patients; he seems more interested in money than care. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for an honest and patient-focused dentist.

It scared the shit out of me, but, I eventually resigned to the reality that I need to get this done this year to take advantage of my insurance before the beginning of the next year. I was referred to Pamela M Andrews, DDS. by a Manteca city council member(that runs a liquor store locally). When I arrived the staff were very nice, I filled out all the forms, and afterwards was given the most thorough exam I've ever experienced in my life. I was in that chair for about 1.5/2 hours. after my teeth cleaning the dentist came in and went over everything regarding the X rays and the exam. She told me I had no cavities, and I had one tooth that had a slight fracture, and no real need to worry unless it starts giving me problems, some minor bone loss on the tooth that the other dentists wanted to extract...she advised me to come back if it starts to cause me any pain, otherwise, I'm good to go, she gave me a bag of dental care goodies and said she'll see me in 6 months. I highly recommend Pamela M Andrews DDS and her staff, they seem exponentially more honest than the two dentists I saw before I came to her.

Since when does a "FREE consultation" suddenly become NOT free because you didn't hand over X-rays that had nothing to do with the consultation itself? The best part? I went to two other dental offices for Invisalign consultations, and guess what? Neither one charged me for the consultation. So this definitely doesn't feel like some standard industry practice. If there are conditions attached to your "free consultation," SAY THAT UP FRONT. Don't tell patients something is free and then come up with a charge afterward. That's incredibly misleading and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth -- and ironically, that's saying something about a dental office. I'm paying the charge because I don't want to deal with the headache of having it sent to collections, NOT because I agree that I should have been charged. There's a big difference. I walked in expecting a free Invisalign consultation and walked out feeling like I had just been baited into a bill. Maybe the next time, just be upfront about your fees instead of calling something "free" and attaching surprise conditions afterward. Absolutely ridiculous. I won't be coming back, and I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone.
